Scott is survived by his wife, Jena, and his two sons, Drew and Noah. His parents, Gordon and Joan Hermanson. His half-sister, Leah (Gill Davis). His brother, Chris and his sister Stacy (Tony Hastings). His sisters-in-law Vicki (Mark Kaitchuck), Cathy Correa, Nicki (Frank Navarro), brother-in-law Michael Urbaniak. We know he is heartbroken to leave behind his nieces and nephews; Drew (Ashley) and Brendan, Stephanie (Robert Lewton), Vanessa, Kyle, Danae, Nicole (Jeff Carvajal), Isabell, Kendall, Gavin, Nathan, Caleigh, Evie and Indie. His great nieces and nephews Mia, DJ, Roman, Selene, and Emma and James with whom he regarded in his heart as grandchildren. His large loving extended family and friends will surely miss his playful personality. . . . and a special consideration for Gordon Sumner. Scott was the master of reinventing himself. He was the ultimate entrepreneur passionately creating many successful businesses throughout his lifetime. His latest adventure was an e-commerce fairy gardens business, which he threw into his love of all things tiny. Not only was Scott a business maven, he was a musician, comic and lover of improv (Yes-And), builder of intricate models, painter, puzzle builder (give him all the sky pieces), baker of delicious sweets and savories, lover of extra salty crispy and soft pretzels, tech whiz, master of turning scraps of paper into wonderful creations, DJ of music to suit the energy of the people he was with or for the occasion - always lifting everyone up. Scott became a green thumb of gardens large and small, over-planting one season, relocating and transplanting the next. He was a lover of movies, with a penchant for time-travel. One of his favorites being, "About Time. " He loved live music and attended not enough concerts to suit him. He found great joy in creating snarky t-shirts for Robert and designing fake businesses, commercials, and family games to celebrate all of our family's blunders. Scott brought levity to every situation, even when not necessary. He couldn't help himself. Unfortunately, Scott's dream of adding a lazy river to his backyard was never realized. Our hearts are broken and we are in shock. He kept our lives light. In lieu of flowers, please donate to comedygivesback. com. A celebration of Scott's life will be on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 pm at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mount Prospect, Illinois. We will be wearing some of Scott's favorite t-shirts (movies, music, comedy or the color pink) and encourage you to do the same.Show more
