Dianne M. "Dee" Potenti, 70, of Largo, FL passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family after a brave battle with cancer. Her loving partner & soul mate of 50 years, James Potenti, predeceased her in 2015 after also battling cancer. She leaves her three boys whom she loved & adored; Her oldest, Marc, her middle son Joel, also known as Jay & her youngest, whom she referred to as her baby to this day; Scotti Potenti, all of Largo, FL. She leaves a sister, Linda McCreery of CA. She was the beloved grandmother/nana to 7 grandchildren; Zach White, Anthony, Alyssa, Gina, Liyah, Marc Jr. & Anthony "AJ" Potenti. She also leaves 2 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews & cousins. She was predeceased by her son Shawn Potenti. Dianne was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Raymond & Rose Fontaine and lived here until her high school sweetheart, Jimmy passed away in 2015 to move to Florida, where she found her love for the beach. She was a graduate of North High School & went on to beauty school and to work at her mothers beauty salon; Petite Salon in Grafton Hill. She had many hobbies & later went on to work for VacationFundraising where she took joy in helping others in need. She was a devoted Catholic and longtime member of Our Lady of Loretto Church where she took pride in assisting the raffle booth for the Italian Festival every year. She made many friends in FL & friends everywhere she went. She lit up every room. If she wasn't home, you knew you could find her on the beach where she spent a lot of her time. Her beautiful smile and charming spirit will be remembered by all of whom had the pleasure & joy of knowing her. She was one of kind & will leave voids in the hearts of many. At Dee's wishes, she was able to attend her celebration of life in Largo, FL and there will be no additional services at this time.

"Jack Torrence Medlin Jack T. Medlin, 97, formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023, in Largo, Florida, where he had resided since 2020. Jack was born on February 19, 1926, in Breckinridge, Texas to the late Oscar Royal and Linda (Torrence) Medlin. He grew up in several towns around East Texas during the Depression. After graduating from Karnack High School, he enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. He attended Texas A\u0026amp;M (Gig'em Aggies) under the GI Bill, graduating with a degree in Safety Engineering, then soon went to work for Aetna Life and Casualty in Dallas. He married his hometown sweetheart, Betty Jo Rogers, in 1955. They moved to Tulsa after Jack was transferred from Dallas. Jack retired from a forty plus year career in Safety Engineering with Aetna. Retirement did not suit him, so, took a job with the MidContinent Group where he worked for several more years. The family could often be found at baseball diamonds at MacArther Elementary or Eli Whitney Junior High where Jack coached little league baseball teams of his sons, Kevin and Mark, and grandsons, Josh, Jake, and Jarryd. Jack loved flying, from building model and remote-controlled airplanes to earning his private pilot's license and flying his Cessna 150 and other small planes. His passion, however, was spending time with his grandsons and great grandchildren to whom he was known as "Pap". Pap will be fondly remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, sage life advice, ability to fix almost anything and reluctance to throw anything away. Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Betty Jo Rogers Medlin; sons Mark Andrew and Kevin Torrence Medlin, and brothers Oscar Royal Jr. and Will Rogers Medlin. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Medlin Morton (Wayne Pescatello) of Stonington, CT; three grandsons and their children: Joshua (Ashley), Grayson and Mayleigh of Pretty Prairie, Kansas; Jacob (Jaimie), Jaxson and Joseph of Safety Harbor, FL; and Jarryd (Charlotte), Jayden and Jayce of Largo, FL. Ronald Hatton, 77, of Seminole, FL passed away Friday November 24, 2023 with his wife of 54 years, Beverly by his side. He was born in Marianna, FL to Jamie Lee Carlton and Robert Wayne Hatton. Ron, known as Ronnie West of the Apalachicola River, graduated from Marianna High School then Chipola Junior College where he played baseball before receiving his Bachelor's degree and MBA from Florida State University. Ron was a 1LT in the US Army, serving in Vietnam. After an honorable discharge, he completed his studies at FSU and went on to have a 37 year career for GTE, later Verizon where he spent many years working on their public safety and 911 program. An avid lover of the beach, he was most at home in the kitchen or in front of a grill during large and often impromptu gatherings of friends and family. If not there, he could be found making mixtapes with his many cousins. He is survived by his wife Beverly; son John Robert of Tampa; daughter Laura Allison, her husband Jin Qian, and granddaughter Yin Lian of Cuddebackville, NY; sister Barbara Herring and husband Howard of Marianna, FL. Jennie Ruth Dewitt Chavez, 91 of Dover, Florida passed away on November 24, 2023 at Accent Care Inpatient Hospice in Largo, Florida. She was born on November 16, 1932 in Ruffin, South Carolina to Louis and Idell Dewitt. She was predeceased by her husband, George Chavez in November of 2017. She leaves behind those to mourn and cherish her memories, her children, Ruth Ann Coleman(George Jenkins Coleman), George Michael Chavez (Lisa), and Dr. Deborah Gavilan (Janice A. Gallmon); eleven grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 W. Gary Sherman Kettle Jr. Fondly known as Pony or Ponyboy '52' passed away due to cancer on November 5th , 2023, with his mother, father, and sister lovingly by his side. We are all devastated by this huge loss, and he will be forever missed. Gary (ponyboy) is survived by his mother and father Kathleen and David Gadoury. Sister Stacy Maturo, brother-in-law Mark Maturo, half sisters Christine Malboeuf and Amy Kettle. Daughters Harli Kettle and Carly Schaefer along with granddaughter Deylani maryelis Vargas-Kettle. Ponyboy was born on December 19th, 1970 at Windham hospital in Willimantic CT. Gary grew up in Ashford CT and attended E. O. Smith High School. Gary later went on to master the skill of an arborist. Gary later moved to Florida where he spent the last fourteen years of his life. He made many friends along the way, he was the kind of person who drew people in. He was extremely funny and never failed to make someone laugh or bring a smile to their face. He never lost his child-like spirit, had an amazing memory, and would light up a room when telling his entertaining stories. These words cannot possibly sum up the life of such a beautiful person, but it is a glimpse into knowing him. Gary everyone you left in this world hates that you are gone but we are happy that you are home, free and painless. Our love for you is endless, you will forever be missed until we can meet again. A celebration of life for ponyboys will occur in the spring with details to be determined. Hazel Lorena Eakins, a beloved resident of Clearwater, FL, peacefully passed away on November 19, 2023, at the age of 92. Born on August 27, 1931, in Madison, Florida, to Sadie and David Thighpen, Hazel's life was characterized by a profound commitment to her family, faith, and community. Hazel Lorena Eakins graduated from Greenville, FL, marking the beginning of a life devoted to service and compassion. She found her lifelong partner in Dewey Eakins, embracing a journey together that was defined by love and mutual support. Her career at Schneider Electric was a testament to her dedication and work ethic. Yet, her true passion lay in her unwavering dedication to Christian Fellowship Church, where her involvement spanned church activities, nursing home ministries, and nurturing her cherished garden. Her commitment to spreading her Christian values was a cornerstone of her being, evident in her interactions with everyone she met. Hazel Lorena Eakins will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her surviving daughter Anne Parker, daughter-in-law Rhonda Eakins, grandchild Derrick Eakins, and sisters Myrtle Partain and Myrtice Hagan. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
