Diane Firestone, 70 years old, of Laughlin, NV, passed away on September 7 th 2023 in Phoenix, AZ. Funeral services will be held 10 am, Tuesday, September 12 th 2023 at King David Cemetery in Las Vegas, NV with the Rabbi Super of Chabad of Lake Havasu City officiating. Burial will follow at King David Cemetery. A graveside memorial service, which will include family and friends, will take place at 11am, Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at King David Cemetery. Arrangements are made by her niece, Ann Fogler, in collaboration with King David Cemetery. Diane was born in Los Angeles, CA to Morris and Marcella Firestone on July 3 rd 1953. She went to school in Los Angeles and graduated from Cal State Northridge with master's degrees in library sciences and education. She worked as a librarian and as a teacher for the Los Angeles public schools for 10 years, until she retired and moved in with her parents to care for them in their old age. She was involved as a Jewish leader with various groups in Los Angeles, and an apprentice rabbi and cantor at Temple Beth Torah in Laughlin, under the tutelage of her mother and father. Diane is preceded in death by her mother and father. Diane is survived by her sisters Rebecca Firestone and Miriam Fogler, her niece Ann Fogler, and her grandniece Eva Duffy. In Loving Memory ofRaymond Gomez LopezApril 20, 1934 ~ September 28, 2023 Raymond Gomez Lopez was born April 20, 1934, in San Bernardino, California, to Sabino and Luz Lopez. He was 1 of 11 children. Raymond was raised in San Bernardino and completed his education at San Bernardino High School. Shortly thereafter, he joined the US Army, where he attained the rank of Specialist 4th Class and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954. In 1959, Raymond married the love of his life, Eva L. Duran. Together, they raised their two children, Raymond, Jr. , and Evelyn. He was a firm believer in hard work and creating your own opportunities. This was perhaps best exemplified by his 30-plus years of service in the United States Postal Service, where he earned the position of postmaster. He retired in 1990 to enjoy more time with his family and take frequent trips to Laughlin, Nevada, with Eva. Raymond passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 28, 2023. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and eight siblings: Francis Lopez, Carmen Lopez, Jessie Gonzalez, Pete Lopez, Juana Macias, Mike Lopez, Cesario Lopez, and Sabino Lopez. Raymond is survived by his sisters Lucy Ramirez and Grace Rogers, two children, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. While typically a man of few words, Raymond never left a doubt in the minds of his loved ones of his deep love and commitment to those he cared about.
