David E. "Buddy" Tomerlin, Jr. , passed away and entered Eternal Life on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Buddy was a man whose life was intricately woven with the artistry of engines, the roar of motorcycles, and the symphony of machines. As an automotive store manager, he poured his heart and soul into his work, finding solace and joy in the mechanics of all things that revved and roared to life. But beyond the tools and gears, Buddy was a man who embraced the simplicity of life's pleasures. His eyes sparkled at the mention of Las Vegas, a place that held a special corner in his heart. And in the quiet moments of reflection, he found peace within the walls of One Community Church in Clarksville, Indiana, where his spirit found solace and community. Yet, among all these passions, Buddy's deepest devotion lay in his family. He was more than a beloved father, grandfather, and husband--he was a guiding light, a rock of unwavering support, and a fountain of love that overflowed with terms of endearment for those he cherished most. His legacy isn't just in the engines he fixed or the roads he traversed; it lives on in the countless hearts he touched and the memories he carved into the lives of those who knew him. To his family, he was more than a patriarch; he was "Pop" and "Papaw," a moniker that encapsulated the boundless affection and tenderness he showered upon his loved ones. His presence was a warmth that wrapped around gatherings, infusing them with laughter, wisdom, and an abundance of love. He is survived by his fiancee, Donna Wood; children, David L Tomerlin (Shannon), Windi Lawrence (Steve), and Kyle Tomerlin (Sophia); grandchildren, Hannah (Jesse), Ethan, Parker, Brody, Kennedy, Noah, Lincoln; and children to Donna, Britney and Zachary (Sam). Visitation will be 3-7 p. m. Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway. Funeral services will be celebrated 11 a. m. Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. As we bid farewell to Buddy, we remember not just the man who lived for the thrill of the ride, but the man who taught us the true essence of devotion, love, and family. Though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains ever-present, encapsulated in the memories we hold dear.Show more
