Ronald "Ron" Eugene Stempowski, a pillar of love, faith, and family, passed away on December 7, 2023, at the age of 88. Born on November 14, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, to Stephen and Julia Stempowski, Ron was the youngest brother to the late Wanda Szymanski (Richard), the late Richard Stempowski (the late Dorothy), and Rosemarie Szajna (the late Ed). A serendipitous meeting at a wedding marked the beginning of a remarkable journey for Ron, leading to 63 years of marriage with his beloved Patricia. Together, they forged a beautiful family rooted in togetherness and faith. Ron is survived by his four children: Karen Adams (Larry), Sue Martin (Perry), Craig Stempowski (Danette), and Michelle Hastings (Mark). His legacy extends through eight grandchildren: Matthew Adams, Madison Adams (Luke Affholter), Mitchell Stempowski, Nicholas Hastings, Ryan Stempowski, Emma Hastings, Blake Stempowski, and Nate Stempowski. Ron is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews. In eternal rest, Ron joins a host of family members and loved ones, including his euchre partner "szwagier," Ralph Swantek, who recently passed away in October. Ron dedicated decades of service to Ford Motor Company before retiring as the Fleet Services Manager, enabling him to focus on his passions alongside Pat. A true companion, Ron and Pat explored the world together, from European tours to Alaskan cruises and family visits, punctuated by wine-tasting adventures in California. Ron's craftsmanship shone through as he lovingly updated and renovated their home, creating a haven for their golden years. He took joy in being the household handyman and cherished moments with Pat, whom he loved the "mostest. " He was a man of sentiment, caring, and impeccable grooming, always relishing a fresh haircut to present the best version of himself to Pat. Family gatherings were the heart of Ron's life, and he reveled in hosting holiday celebrations and family kielbasa and pierogi-making days, celebrating his Polish heritage. He found great joy in bringing everyone together. Fishing outings on local lakes and spirited card games, particularly euchre, brought him immense joy. Dining at Lino's with Pat and the family reflected his appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Faith held a central place in Ron's life, from early days at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Detroit with Pat to their long-standing membership at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church since 1978. Ron, a veteran of the United States Army, dedicated eight years to serving his country, between active duty and the Army Reserves.
