Malvern, AR

Derrick Lamar Evans, 41 of Malvern Arkansas transitioned on Friday, September 8, 2023 at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences - Little Rock. Services are incomplete. Awaiting by G W (Bill) Marshall Oh,little man your stay was short You never knew this world of distress, But you brought loving comfort, To where God chose to bless. In our quiet times together alone, I shall always cherish until that day When death shall find me and atone, And we both are home to stay. I shall await and always look forward, For looking back brings only tears And you are now safe with the Lord, Awaiting when I finish my years. Samuel L. Margie Catherine Treadway(1930 - 2023)Margie Catherine Treadway, 93, passed away August 18, 2023, at her home in Hot Spring County, AR, due to heart failure. She was surrounded by both family and friends at the time of her death. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Norman. She and Norman were married for over 65 years, until Norman's death at age 84. She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Opal Ritter (Tisdale) and her stepmother, Grace Ritter (Pilcher). After their marriage in 1946, Norman and Margie moved to California in 1950 and lived there for the next 30 years. In 1980, Margie and Norman moved back to Arkansas to the area of their births, where they built a new home and Norman opened an automotive repair shop. During her long life, Margie always enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, quilting, and scrapbooking. Up until shortly before her passing, she enjoyed cooking and baking for her many family members and friends in the area. She shared recipes and sewing patterns with others and was delighted when she could play cards or dominos with friends and family. She was also known for her constant care of her plants and flowers which surrounded her home year-round. At the time of her death, Margie was survived by her two sons, Jerry (Susan) and Mike, as well as two older brothers, Murl and Harry Ritter, and four younger siblings, Wayne (Bonnie), Mary, Joyce, and Tony (Judy). She also left behind two grandchildren, Scott (Jessica) and Sara, as well as four great-grandchildren, Brendan, Trinity, Jaxson, and Scott Jr. Her brother-in-law Donald Treadway and his wife, Brenda, and their family, as well as Sandy Ritter Cox, her "shopping" niece, were always close by to help after her husband's passing. Margie's family chose to forego a formal funeral ceremony in lieu of a very close "Celebration of Life" event that was held recently at her home with close family members.
