Mr. James Franklin Caudill, age 34 of Millers Creek, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at High Point Medical Center. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Scenic Memorial Gardens Chapel with Rev. Shannon Critcher officiating. Friends and family will gather at 10:30 AM prior to the service at the chapel. Mr. Caudill was born January 10, 1990, in Wilkes County to James Julian and Janette Anderson Caudill. He loved the outdoors and was active in all outdoor sports. He attended Concord University. James had the most infectious smile, and he was loved by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Janette Anderson Caudill, of the home; one brother, Joseph Caudill (Tiffany) of Wilkesboro; one niece, Madeline Caudill; three nephews, William Caudill (Jessica), Bryan Francis, and Connor Caudill; one great-niece, Ella Price; and one great-nephew, Levi Caudill. Heavenly angels descended and carried our beautiful, Destiny Carciana Reed Wood to Heaven on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the age of 28. A native of Guilford County, Destiny was born on April 8, 1995, to Carl A. Reed and Luciana L. Sellars. After graduating from high school, she went on to attend Bennett College. Destiny worked as a caterer at High Point University. Some of her favorite hobbies were photography, reading, writing poetry, taking long walks, and spending time with her family and friends. On December 30, 2020, Destiny married the love of her life, Yusef Wood. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur and Ollie Mae Reed and Rev. Lucian L. and Jeanette M. Sellars. In addition to her husband Yusef, she is survived by her father, Carl A. Reed (Antroinette); mother, Luciana L. Sellars; mother-in-law, Mona Wood; siblings,Cardise (Pashuan) Reed, NiCarsia Reed, Courtney Chambers, Germaini Brown, and Germaine Brown, II,; siblings-in-law, Raheem Allen, Schemeeka Allen, Jeanette Brown, Emily Brown, Joseph Sanchez, Karen Sanchez and Daraida Sanchez; aunts, Angel Sellars, Thelma Reed, Retha Saunders, Geneva Reid; uncles, Arthur Reed and Charles Reed; nieces and nephews, Malachi Smallwood, Puma Zamora, Pashence Reed, Raheem Allen, Jr., Layla Allen, Josiah Allen, Alexander Allen, Artis Johnson, and Jeremiah Brown; and numerous extended family members and friends. High Point, NC Annie Haley Boyles, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 1, 2024 with her family by her side. Annie was born in High Point, March 29, 1932, a daughter of the late Julius Elbert Haley and Lillie Mae Baxley Haley. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Boyles, and they had 68 wonderful years together before his passing in 2022. Annie had a fifty plus year career with High Point Bank and Trust Company. She loved window shopping until you dropped and enjoyed trips to the beach. Annie was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Boyles. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Griffis (Joel); a son, Rick Boyles; a sister, Ruby Ledbetter; a brother, Roy Haley (Bonnie); two grandchildren, Beth Stewart (Jerry) and Bryan Griffis (Jericha); three great-grandchildren, Emmalee, Ella and Vada. A celebration of Annie's life will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1 until 2 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont.

Catherine Dalton, 96, of Jamestown passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Hospice Home at High Point. A graveside service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Guilford Memorial Park cemetery with Pastor Timothy Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11 at graveside. Catherine attended Westover Church for many years. She was known for her great cooking, her sense of humor, and beach trips to Oak Island with family. Most importantly, Catherine was known for the love she had for grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Glenda Brookbank of Jamestown; brother, Howard Dalton also of Jamestown; grandson, David Brookbank, Jr. and wife, Amanda of High Point; and great grandchildren, Madalyn Grace Brookbank and Leeza Grae Brookbank, both of High Point. High Point – Bobby Russell Nelson, 88, went to his eternal home on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from the Hospice Home at High Point. Bobby was born in Sandy Ridge, NC on January 2, 1936, to the late George Seaberon Nelson and Bessie Irene Wood Nelson. In addition to his parents, three sisters, Lois Hill, Helen Brown Amos, Pauline Kennedy; a brother, Dennis Atkins; two grandsons, Brooks Nelson, Dru Painter and three nephews all preceded him in death. Bob served in the Army as a paratrooper for 8 years. A master brick mason by trade from age 23 until his retirement at age 83. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and enjoyed teaching Sunday school. He also enjoyed fishing, puzzles, building things with his hands. He enjoyed visits with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved fishing trips with his sons to the Outer Banks of NC. After retirement he enjoyed his time at home taking daily walks with his wife, reading the Bible and listening to preaching. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch and feeding the deer. He was known to everyone that knew him as a kind, hardworking, God-fearing man that loved his family and he will be truly missed by all. Well done, good and faithful servant. Rest now, your work on earth is done. Bobby is survived by his wife, Lona Kaye Hagie Nelson, three sons, Robert Russell Nelson (Marsha) of Trinity, Richard “Rick” Lee Nelson (Angie) of Thomasville, Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Nelson (Angela) of Denton; daughter, Tessa Lawson (Robbie) of Asheboro; sister, Ruby Swaim; grandchildren, Hollie Nelson (Eli), Erin Shephard (Shane), Sam Nelson (Haley); step-grandson, Justin Stanley; great-grandchildren, Alaina, Grayson, Fletcher, Layla, Savannah, Barrett, Kohen and several nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends from 11:00 until 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Garrell Street Baptist Church, 3108 Garrell Street in Archdale. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Rodney Otwell officiating and burial to follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
