She married her high school sweetheart where she devoted her time tending to the needs of her husband and children. Previous employment include General Electric and Ameren CIPS. After retirement from Ameren CIPS, she spent countless hours as support staff for the Charleston School District until May of 2022. She absolutely loved working for them and the staff became family to her through her employment. Myra was a devoted Christian, and her life exemplified the teachings of the Bible. She lived by the words of Proverbs 31:25, "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. " Myra faced life's challenges with grace, strength, and an unwavering trust in the Lord. Myra Lou was a member of Home Church (previously named Salisbury Church) in Charleston, IL. She was also a member of the Fields Church in Mattoon, IL. Myra loved attending anything she could, especially her bible study group. A pillar of her community, Myra was a beacon of light and kindness, reflecting the love of Christ to everyone she encountered. Her warm smile and gentle spirit touched the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Myra's favorite passage, Psalm 23, guided her through life's journey: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. " Family was the first priority in her life. Myra loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a life master bridge player, enjoyed playing cards, and loved attending Bingo. Myra Lou was also an avid reader and loved to travel. She was always up for an adventure. As we mourn the loss of Myra Lou Lang, let us take solace in the comforting words of John 14:1-3: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. " May we find peace in the knowledge that Myra is now in the arms of her Savior. She is experiencing the joy of eternal life promised by the Lord and reunited with her son, Jimmy Troy, and grandson, Wade. We celebrate her remarkable journey, grateful for the time we had with her and the enduring impact she made on our lives.
