Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. , Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P. M. until service time at the church. Mr. McEnery was born March 9, 1932 in New Orleans, LA and passed away November 30, 2023, in Monroe, LA. Donnie Ray McEnery was a man who loved his Lord and was a great Christian example to everyone with whom her interacted He loved DEEP and LOVED all! His Lord and Savior, his Family, his brothers and sisters in Christ, and his many friends were all touched by his kind spirit and love for life! Donnie Ray was a hard worker and could build and make most anything. He was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church in which he oversaw the construction of two church locations from the ground up. He also served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for over 60 years! He was an avid bow hunter and fisherman. He will always be remembered for his talents in making crappie jigs, bows, bow sights, deer stands and anything else that needed to be made or created. Although we are sad, we know he is walking on streets of gold with his Lord and Savior and now reunited with his loving wife, Violet. We rejoice in knowing we will see him again. He was so loved and will be extremely missed by everyone. He left this earth at the age of 91 but what a mark he made on all who knew him! Gone but never forgotten! Please keep Darlene, Pam, and Don along with their families in your prayers in the days to come. Mr. McEnery was preceded in death by his wife, Violet; sister, Peggy McEnery; and parents, Douglas and Ethel McEnery. She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking vacations together, shopping, and cooking large meals for all. She was a homemaker, an apartment manager and codriver to her husband, Everet, when he was delivering boats across the country. She was known for having her nails painted and her beautiful red hair permed. She loved all of us very dearly and we will always keep her in our hearts. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everet Lee Sams; four sisters; three brothers; daughter, Sharon Key Lein and grandson, Chad Powell. M. , Monday, December 4, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana, with Rev. Amos McFarland officiating. Interment will follow at Brantley Family Cemetery located at 5217 Highway 588, Pioneer, Louisiana 71266, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 9:00 A. M. until time of service. Rena, born March 27, 1968, was the second daughter of Mary and James Jones of Monroe. As a young girl, she was a stereotypical middle child growing up with her two sisters and a large circle of close-knit cousins and friends. She had a large extended family and spent much of her leisure time with them. As a young woman Rena graduated from Ouachita High School, and later obtained her phlebotomy licensure and medical assistant certification. Throughout her life she took pride and found joy in caring for others through her work in the medical field. Rena was an extremely tender hearted, nurturing, and caring woman of faith. She enjoyed journaling, cross stitching, singing, and movies. She not only enjoyed watching movies but was known for quoting 80’s rom coms as well. Rena’s quirky sense of humor was evident when spending time with family and friends. Rena had a strong tie to her family. She was preceded in death by her father, James Allen Jones of Bastrop, her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Doris Brantley of Oak Grove, and her paternal grandparents, Walter and Corinne Jones of Bastrop. Rena is survived by her son, Matthew Jones of Monroe, her mother, Mary Ann Jones of Monroe, her sisters: Sharon (Tony) Ardizzone of Calhoun, and Nicole Jones of Monroe, her nieces: Melissa Ardizzone-Darneille (Dan Darneille) of West Monroe and Jennifer (Chris) Prine of Calhoun, her great niece, Ellery Prine of Calhoun and great nephews: Ethan Prine of Calhoun, Carmine and Enzo Darneille of West Monroe, and a host of additional family and friends. Visitation will be from 1:00PM Saturday until service time at the funeral home. Josh was born on June 24, 1985, in Monroe and passed away on November 28, 2023, in Monroe. Josh carved his path through education, one that made him well known and well read. He was a graduate of River Oaks High School, LA Tech University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and later, earning a Juris Doctor from the College of Law at Loyola University New Orleans. His life, though remarkable, was darkened by the struggles of addiction, ultimately snatching away the radiance of his inner light too early. An exceptional soul, Josh possessed an insatiable curiosity and an exceptional intellect. His fierce passion for debate was evident from a tender age, often heralding him as a future lawyer, even as it drove his mother crazy. His sharp, sarcastic humor and quick wit painted him as a memorable personality, lighting up countless moments for both friends and family. He was truly and completely loved; his presence will be deeply missed. In June of 2020 The Universe conspired to bring Josh and The Only Love Of His Life together for a second time twenty years after first meeting as teenagers. Two people have never loved each other more than Joshua and Brittany. He is her Sun and her Moon Stars. She is his Soul’s Soul. They were married in Hamburg, Arkansas on January 21, 2022. They spent 3 and half wonderful years raising 2 of the most amazing children on God’s green earth. Joshua loved Fox and Stella with every cell in his body. Jonathan Blaine Duncan, a loving father and passionate man, was born on October 2, 1956, in Bastrop, LA, and passed away on November 29, 2023, at his residence in West Monroe, LA. Jonathan touched the lives of many with his warm-hearted nature and kind soul. His career spanned over 30 years at Entergy before retiring. His dedication and hard work were admired by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Colleagues remember him as a reliable and valuable team member who never shied away from going the extra mile. Jonathan's vibrant personality was contagious to all who crossed his path. With a great sense of humor and an ever-present smile on his face, he brought joy to every gathering. He was known for his unwavering love and care towards others, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met. In his free time, Jonathan indulged in various hobbies and interests that brought him immense joy. His love for Natchez led him to purchase a house there so that he could spend more time with his friends Under the Hill. Jonathan had a great passion for riding motorcycles, which he considered a thrilling and exciting experience. His passion for riding grew stronger with each ride. Additionally, Jonathan had a deep passion for classic cars and took great pride in showcasing his meticulously maintained Blazer at car shows. Growing up at the Bastrop Airport, where his father worked as a manager, awakened Jonathan's fascination with planes and flying. These passions were ingrained in him from an early age. Above all else, Jonathan cherished spending time with his precious grandchildren. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being able to create lasting memories with them. Their laughter filled his heart with immeasurable joy, showcasing just how much love he had for each one of them. Jonathan is survived by his daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Duncan, and his sons, Harrison Scott Duncan and Christopher Jon Duncan, and wife, Ashton Paige Duncan; among those mourning his loss are Marshall Glenn Duncan and Mitchell Blaine Duncan, his beloved grandsons. Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hazel Duncan, as well as his twin brother, Ronald Duncan. Although their physical presence is deeply missed, their spirits will forever live on in Jonathan's heart. M. , Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home Monroe, LA. Joseph Charles Meggs, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, February 27, 1941. Mr. Charlie had resided in Monroe, LA since 1970. He attended Kosciusko High School before enlisting in the United States Army where he rose to the rank of E4. When relocating to Monroe, Charles began working in the production department of Dittco Products, where he eventually held numerous leadership roles and positions. In 1990 Mr. Charles helped co-found Premier Steel Doors and Frames where he was actively involved until his retirement in 2017. He was, during his employment, an honorary member of DHI, AGC and the MBMA. He was loved by many and was always engaging with the off- beat jokes and humor. Charlie was one of a kind. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents the Rev. Alton Meggs and Gussie Meggs, his sister Glennis Halford and brother Alton Verlon Meggs. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret Ann Pearson Meggs, sons, Joey Meggs and wife Christa, Darrell Meggs and wife Lara, daughter, Angela Meggs, and his two sisters, Cathy Frazure and Alta Hutchison; 10 loving grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and numerous friends of the family. Serving as pallbearers are Jacob Jarratt, Michael Meggs, Ben Stokes, Trent Norris and Travis White. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Clint Gebhardt, Hristo Ivanov and Danny Gebhardt. A special thank you goes out to Elara Caring Hospice for their heart and care during his last days and to his selfless sister Alta for her love support and companionship.
