Jerrad Cornish

Age - 39

November 28, 2023

Jerrad Isaiah Cornish, 39, passed away Saturday November 18th, 2023 in a tragic accident. Jerrad was born February 28th 1984. He is survived by his two sons, Ethan Cornish and Robert Cornish, parents, Robert Cornish and Patricia Schreiber, Brothers Benjamin Cornish, Jeremy Lincoln and Timothy Cornish, sister Taryn Schultz and many other family members and friends. Jerrad achieved an impressive career in the United States Army as a special operations combat medic and retired as an SGT 1st class with several tours to Iraq and Africa. There is not enough room or time to describe all of Jerrad's achievements. If you knew him, you would know that he had many interests in many things. To name a few, he was a couple weeks away from graduating from Cape Fear Community College with an associates degree in culinary arts, he was recently certified in scuba diving, he was a first - time home owner and a proud father. Jerrad found happiness in an incredible woman, Christina Jenkins who was also tragically taken from us the same night as Jerrad. He loved her and loved the fact that she was always ready to go on another adventure with him. Jerrad had a habit of finding obscure, hole in the wall pubs, shops and other places that were awesome to visit and Christina was always on board. She too will be greatly missed. Jerrad worked for a man by the name of Kenny Wright who turned into more than just his boss. Kenny and his wife Holly became like family to Jerrad. In daily conversations with Jerrad, we would hear about current events regarding Beyond the Bayou food truck. The slow nights, fast nights and the ridiculously hot 6 - hour events they would power though, but he was so proud to have been a part of it and proud to call the Wrights his friends and his family. Since the news of his death, the outpouring of Jerrad's military family has been tremendous. His brothers in arms from all over the world have been reaching out daily, and they too are grieving this loss. He made an impact on everyone he met and people will remember Jerrad Cornish for a long time to come. We lost a huge part of our family and he will be missed. We will see you on the other side Brother and we love you.
