Victoria "Vickie" N. Flis April 16, 1960 - December 6, 2023 Victoria "Vickie" Flis passed away on December 6, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. Born to Pasquale and Maria DeMarco in Ridgway, PA, on April 16, 1960, Vickie's life was a testament to love, selflessness, and unwavering faith. At the tender age of 15, she encountered the love of her life, Steve, through a cousin. Notably, her parents, initially cautious, had imposed a restriction that she wasn't permitted to date until she turned 16. Undeterred, Vickie and Steve patiently waited, and when she reached the milestone age, their love story truly took flight. Five years of dating culminated in a joyous union, as Vickie and Steve exchanged vows on May 30, 1981, marking the beginning of a resilient and enduring partnership. A selfless soul, Vickie's life was defined by her constant willingness to help others. Her acts of kindness and compassion touched the lives of those around her. Vickie's devotion extended beyond her immediate family, embracing nieces, nephews, and cousins who were fortunate to experience her warmth and generosity. Vickie's greatest joy came from her family, especially her role as Nana to her adored grandchildren, Ava, Max, Charlotte, and Dominic. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she reveled in the special moments spent with each grandchild, creating a legacy of love that will endure. A woman of deep faith, Vickie found solace and purpose in her spiritual journey. Her connection to her faith was a guiding light, providing strength and comfort throughout her life. Her devotion to the Church of the Divine Child was evident in her commitment to attending Mass and participating in the parish community. Victoria is survived by her loving husband, Steve, her sons Mike (Diana), Matt (Caitlin), Mark (Natalie Noble), and her grandchildren. She is also remembered by her mother, Maria, and her late father, Pasquale "Pat," as well as her siblings Isabel (Emanuel) Agius, Joseph (Corrine) DeMarco, and Jack (Kelly) DeMarco. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins mourn the loss of a woman whose love and generosity knew no bounds. Visitation will take place on Friday from 2-8 pm, with a Rosary at 7 pm at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights. A Mass in celebration of Vickie's life will be held on Saturday, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am until the Mass at 10 am at the Church of the Divine Child.
