Lynn C. Lewis, age 69, of Benton, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024. She was born October 23, 1954, in Little Rock. Lynn was an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Hulon G. and E. Virginia Lewis. Lynn is survived by her Sister, Virginia Dale Skinner, Brother in law Curtis Skinner. Her Son, T J Lewis, Daughter in law, Catherine Lewis, Grandchildren Logan and Julia Lewis. Nieces Laura Pardue (Jerry), Chanda Skinner. Great Nieces and Nephews, Abby Croft (Connor), Hannah Skinner, Garrett Witherspoon, and Grant Pardue. A memorial service celebrating Lynn will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Ashby Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in Lynn’s memory to the Saline County Library.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Smith and Donia Bradberry Smith, husband, Thurman Harris, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors, sons and daughters-in-law, Gary D. (Clarisse) Harris, Derwin (Cindy) Harris, daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Paulette (Charles) Marshall, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. George Ellis Benham, 85, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away while surrounded by his family on February 14, 2024 in Benton. George was born to Robert and Lottie (Jones) Benham in Brinkley, Arkansas, in 1938 and grew up in the rural community of Aubrey with his nine siblings. He attended Marianna High School and began working as a linesman for survey crews. He became a professional surveyor and worked for Affiliated Engineers for more than 40 years where he managed several large projects, including one that brought him and his family to Benton, Arkansas, where he raised his family and lived the rest of his life. George grew up a time where family was the foundation for life. His relationship with his brothers formed an unbreakable bond that went beyond bloodlines and helped blend families and sew friendships throughout everything they were involved in. George was a faithful member of Park Place Baptist Church where he took great pride in starting everyone's Sunday morning with a good cup of coffee. He was an avid outdoorsman and cherished his time with hunting and fishing with family and friends. When not in the woods, he spent his Falls watching Benton Panther and Arkansas Razorback football. George is survived by two brothers: Bill Benham (Mary) and Don Benham (Romona), both of Benton; seven children: Terry Benham of Benton, Elaine Hodkin (Ellis) of Benton, Victoria Allbritton of Fayetteville, Donna Ashlock (Alan) of Little Rock, Melinda Johnson of Hot Springs, Faith McJunkin (Bobby) of Benton, and Billy Ashlock (Candice) of Benton; and fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Karen; his best friend Ken Medlock (Billie), seven siblings and one grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21st, at Park Place Baptist Church in Benton, with Pastor Gary Lambright officiating. Visitation begins at 9:00am followed immediately by the Service at 10:00am. Graveside service will be held at 11am at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. Roller-Alcoa is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Pallbearers will be Bill Benham, Ken Benham, Chris Benham, Zac Benham, Ethan Ashlock, and Brody Overall. Honorary Pallbearers are Randy Benham, Kevin Benham, Alan Burke, Todd Stone, Jax Overall [[]CHURCH FRIENDS] The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of support from all of the lives that George touched. She was born on March 9, 1930, in the Red Springs Community of Gurdon. She is the daughter of the late Luther and Susie Smith Jones. Leola worked in the housekeeping department and retired after many happy years from Ouachita Baptist University. She loved working in her yard, growing flowers and most enjoyed her fur-babies and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Leola is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arvin Booy and her children’s father Ted Green, grandson, Jay McCafferty, two brothers, Horace Jones, and Luther Jones, three sisters, Susie Pearl, Marie Dixon & Floy Kusturin, two brothers in law, Roy Dixon and Joe Kusturin and two sisters in law, Betty L Jones and Sara Jones.Survivors are one son, David Green (Jonnell) of Opelousas, LA, three daughters, Debbie McCafferty (Eddie) of Leland, NC, Terry Babineaux (Jasper) of Opelousas, LA and Rhonda Schuster of Opelousas, LA and two step daughters, Dawn Cansler (Daniel) of Little Rock, Glorie Thornton (Dennis) of Bismarck, two brothers, James Jones (Ann) of Gurdon, and Harold Jones of Gurdon, and one sister-in-law, Betty Jo Jones. Barbara Jane Casteel, 63, of Benton, Arkansas was born to the late, Tommy Nelson and Lola Mae (Hester) Nelson, on Friday, September 9th, 1960, in Benton, Arkansas. She left this world on Friday, February 2nd, 2024, surrounded by love. Her family was everything to her especially her kids and grandchildren. They meant the world to her. Barbara was such a caring and generous person who loved taking care of others. It gave her a sense of purpose in this life. Barbara enjoyed traveling and being at casinos. She also loved being in the hot tub or laying out by the pool soaking up the sun. Basically, anywhere that had a large body of water, she was there! She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 26 years, Ed Casteel; two sisters, Sue Theel and Linda Clark; and three brothers, John Nelson, Louis Nelson, and Pete Nelson.She is survived by her three sons, Eddie Casteel (Kathy), Jeff York (Jennifer), and Paul York (Heather); daughter, Jessie York; twelve grandchildren, Tara Freiburger, Amanda Casteel, Nicki Watkins, Ashley Warner, Cole York, Garrett York, Hunter Casteel, Matt Casteel, Jaycee York, Jarad York, Kayla Warner, and Beth Weatherly; eight great grandchildren; three brothers, William, Dave, and George Nelson; life long best friend, Kelli Orr; along with many other family and friends who all love her and will miss her dearly.Barbara’s visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and her celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 8th, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home then burial to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas.Pallbearers include Scott Clay, John Busch, Chris Nelson, Corey Nelson, Doug Theel, and Bobby Theel.
