"Delores Baker Deaton 'Grandma Dale' Mrs. Deaton, 77 years of age, of Matthews, North Carolina, passed away May 4, 2023, at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center after a long battle with lung cancer. Dale was a homemaker in Rock Hill, SC where she had a positive impact in many people\u0027s lives, and throughout the community. Although Dale is no longer with us, the influence she left within everyone's lives she touched will continue to live on without her presence. Mrs. Deaton was born on August 31, 1945, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Daughter of the late Berties Baker (McLemore), the late Neil Baker, and late stepfather George 'Buddy' McLemore. She was also preceded in death by daughter Kathy Delores Deaton, Brother George W. Baker, Brother David L. Baker, ex-husband Richard Deaton, and ex-husband Charles 'Frankie' McGraw. She is survived by Daughters Robin R. Deaton of Matthews, NC. Rhonda Deaton Thomas of Matthews, NC. ; Brother, Mickey A. Baker and his wife Diane A. Baker of Los Angeles, CA. ; Grandsons, Quinton G. Farmer of Huntersville, NC. Austin N. Knick of Weddington, NC. Caden A. Knick of Weddington, NC. ; Granddaughters, Leslie Deaton Burleyson and her husband Tony Burleyson of Mooresville, NC. Kimberly Birmingham Lee of Mooresville, NC. Taylor N. Thomas of Matthews, NC. Erika Laney McCollum of Monroe, NC. ; Stepson, Charles 'Shorty' McGraw of Rock Hill, SC. ; Niece, Lauren A. Baker of Los Angeles, CA. Candice M. Beveridge of Mount Holly, NC. Cecilia A. Deaton of Charlotte, NC. ; Nephew, Ryan A. Baker of Los Angeles, CA. ; Great-grandchildren, Cameron Burleyson of Mooresville, NC. Ryder T. Poole of Mooresville, NC. Walker E. McCollum of Monroe, NC. Karma R. Cox of Monroe, NC. Rikki M. Bennett of Monroe, NC. Cloey Burleyson of Mooresville, NC. Everly J. Lee of Mooresville, NC. Delores was deeply beloved by all family and friends for her selfless acts of kindness, she thoroughly enjoyed helping others without asking for anything in return. She often went out of her way, regardless of what was going on in the moment, to provide and care for family members and friends. Delores will be deeply missed by family and friends, and her legacy will continue to live on by all that loved her. She may be gone from Earth in the present, but she will forever live eternally within the home of her lord and savior Jesus Christ. She will never be forgotten. The family of Delores will receive friends at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 15th, 2023, at Heritage Funeral Home, 4431 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail. A celebration of life will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 pm. "
