He was born on August 13, 1939 in Kingwood, son of the late Glenn Harold and Ruby Blanche (Fortney) Hawkins. Millard worked as a truck driver for Marquette Cement at Greenbag and then Decker’s Creek Limestone and retired in 1990. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, horses, watching and feeding the birds, tinkering, walking his dog Charlie, and was a WV Mountaineer Fan. He loved spending time with family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids. He was born on April 26, 1940 in Smithburg, Doddridge County, son of the late Norman Bernard and Wilda Gay (Tennant) Cross. Donald graduated from Doddridge County High School, Class of 1958 and attended Salem College. Donald served and retired from the United States Navy during Vietnam with over twenty plus years of service. He then worked and retired from BFS Service Station in Kingwood with thirty years of service. He then worked a few years at the Dollar Tree in Kingwood. He enjoyed walking, reading, watching TV, bowling and playing golf. Donald was a member of Living Faith Church, Howesville. Goldie Maxine Clark, 91, of Kingwood, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Windy Hill Village, Assisted Living Facility, in Kingwood, WV, with her loving family by her side. She was born November 19, 1932, in Borgman, WV, a daughter of the late Russell and Edith (Hill) Burke. Her husband of 68 years, Miles Gene Clark, preceded her in death April 16, 2020. Maxine graduated from Kingwood High School in 1950. She worked at C&P telephone office in Kingwood for a year, and then, for the Preston County Board of Education as a classroom aide, for several years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting and especially quilting. She was also a 4H Leader of the Manown group for ten years. Maxine and her husband traveled in all 50 states, as well as three cruises, several countries in Europe, and a special trip in 2018 to the Holy Land, that they enjoyed very much. They loved square dancing and attended several conventions, and saw a lot of beautiful country. She attended St. Sebastian Catholic Church. As a member, she served as an usher, and a minister of Eucharist of the church. She was also a member of the Altar Society and St. Vincent de Paul. She is survived by a son, Terry and wife, Kimberley, of Fayetteville, GA; two daughters, Brenda Armstead, of FL, Melinda Black, of Pottstown, PA; son in law, Fred Conley, of Kingwood; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two brothers, Robert D.
