Stephen F. Orosz, Sr. , known affectionately as Steve, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023, in his beloved town of Chalfant at the age of 92. Born on August 7, 1931, Steve's life was marked by his dedicated service to his country and his unwavering commitment to his community and his family. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Emily J. (Rehak) Orosz; his son, Stephen F. Orosz, Jr. of Somerset; and his daughter, Luann S. Orosz Bouvier of Chalfant. Steve graduated from Turtle Creek High School in 1949 and soon after served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. Upon his return, he pursued higher education at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating Cum Laude in just three years--a testament to his intellect and determination. Professionally, Steve had a long and respected career with PPG, where he excelled as an Employee Benefits Manager. Beyond his professional endeavors, Steve was a pillar of the Chalfant community. His passion for public service was evident through his many roles, including serving on the Chalfant Borough Council and as the esteemed Mayor of Chalfant for 24 years, during which he performed over 100 wedding ceremonies. His leadership and vision were instrumental in the well-being of the town he so loved. Steve was a former volunteer with the Chalfant Fire Department, a Founder of the Chalfant Crime Watch, Chalfant Servicemen's Officer, and former member and President of Allegheny County Mayor's Association. From his youth, Steve was deeply involved in the Boy Scouts, achieving the prestigious Eagle Scout rank and later sharing his wisdom as the Scout Master for the Chalfant Boy Scout troop, a WEBELOS Scout Leader and Chalfant Little League Coach. In recognition of his selfless service, Steve was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from Senator Jay Costa and the PA Senate. His contributions to Chalfant were not just acts of duty but were driven by a genuine passion for the well-being of every resident. Steve's interests extended beyond his civic duties. He was the unofficial historian of Chalfant, preserving and sharing the rich tapestry of the town's past and he was a member and elder of the Forest Hills Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. He enjoyed cheering and rooting on the Pittsburgh sports teams and those of his alma mater, the University of Pittsburgh. Described as passionate and spirited, Steve's influence reached far and wide. His warm presence and unwavering spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Steve's love for his borough, neighbors and family always shined through. Steve F. Orosz, Sr. was a beacon of service and a testament to the impact one individual can have on a community. Friends are welcome to a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, December 7, from 3-7pm at Patrick T. Chauncey A. (Jacobs) Saunders Age 79, of Salem Twp. passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at her residence. She was born on October 14, 1944 in Slickville, PA to Moody and Pearl (Keibler ) Jacobs. Chauncey is survived by her beloved spouse of 39 years, William L. Saunders; daughter, Dianne Brinker of Delmont, three sons, Sean (the late wife, Jamie) Saunders of West Newton, Eric Saunders of Hanover and William L. Saunders III of Livenworth, KS; brother, Gary Jacobs; two sisters, Joyce Miller and Robin Mutnansky; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Richard Bakes and brother, Murphy Jacobs. Chauncey was the owner of the former Bakes Home Care Center Nursing Home in Slickville and likely babysat almost every kid in Slickville. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 5, 2023, 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bash-Nied-Jobe Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont (724-468-8381) where a funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jeffrey M. "Rooster' Wilson of Turtle Creek, PA passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023 at the age of 66. Rooster was born in Columbia Hospital, Wilkinsburg, on January 30, 1957, the son of the late James E. Wilson, Sr. and late Alexandra Sophia (Karotis) Wilson. Rooster was a 1975 graduate of Turtle Creek Area High School and graduated from Vale Technical Institute in Blairsville with studies in automotive technology. After graduating, he dedicated his career to working for the James Fiola Garage. He was an auto body repairman, highly skilled in automotive paint work. Rooster enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing the guitar. He was a member of the Ukrainian Club in Wilmerding. Rooster was very social in the community, a well-known patron of the former Hohman's Pizza & Lounge of Monroeville, PA, the former Tommy's, and The Hut, both in Turtle Creek, PA. He was an avid fan of all the professional Pittsburgh sports teams and the University of Pittsburgh. He is survived by his brother, John (late Margaret, late Kelly) Wilson and John's companion, Pam Daniel. Rooster was also preceded in death by his brother, James E. (late Barb, late Dorothy Egenlauf) Wilson. He was the uncle of James D. Wilson, Jason M. Wilson, and Carrie A. Wilson. Gregg R. Landucci, 73, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 23, 2023, with family at his side. He is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Jodi. He is also survived by his sister, Cary Soriano; his four children, Peter, Andrew and his wife Genevieve; David McCarty and his wife, Ocea, and Charli McCarty; beloved grandchildren, Izabella, Cora, Wrin, Leah, and Ethan. Gregg was preceded in death by both of his parents, Alfred V. Landucci (2008) and Anne M. Landucci (1999). Gregg was an avid baseball fan, following the San Francisco Giants and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was also a lifelong San Francisco 49ers fan, cherishing the memories of attending every home game and 2 Super Bowls with his father until Gregg moved to PA. He was also a member of the Newfoundland Club of America and had rescued four Newfoundlands over the last several years. But, nothing filled his heart more than spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
