Jose C. Torres, 62, of Hartford, CT passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at his home. Jose was born in Orocovis, PR on December 9, 1961 and was the son of Mariano and Candida (Morales) Torres. Jose was predeceased by his daughter Cristina, his brother Luis and sisters Maria, Julia, Carmen and Ana. Jose was a beloved father to Christopher, Stephanie, Vanessa, and Nayelie Torres. He also leaves his bonus children, Jayson, Travis, Omalis, Domingo and Morayma. As well as, the mothers of his children Deborah Torres and Magaly Perez, best friends Juan and Remington. Jose leaves four brothers Ramon, Angel, Martin, David and two sisters Mercedes and Maggie. He loved watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys and watching his oldest grandkids Javontae and Analise playing football. He loved spending time with his family and hosting big dinners. He was the best Lelo to his 14 other grandchildren too. Jose was a devoted employee at LAZ parking and loved riding the quad around Rentschler. He was someone that everyone could count on, and he was always a phone call away. Funeral service for Jose will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 at 12pm at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, CT. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Born in New Haven on September 2, 1933, Suzanne was a graduate of Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall, Milford, CT, Albertus Magnus College, New Haven, CT and the Archdiocesan Biblical School, Hartford, CT.Suzanne was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Howard Travers and by her sister, Elizabeth Dahill.Suzanne is survived by her children: Katherine, of West Hartford, CT; John (Sandra) of Shrewsbury, MA; Jane (William) Richards, of Middletown, CT; Paul (Judy) of West Hartford, CT; Maura (Scott) Douglas of Germantown, WI; her ten grandchildren, Allison, Patrick and Sara Richards, Sean, Meghan and Devin Travers, Katie Goggins, Melissa Douglas, James and Michael Travers; her three great-grandchildren, Finn Goggins and Landyn and Remi Richards; her sister, Barbara Curran MacDonald of Madison, CT; and her brother, David Leo Shay of CA.Suzanne was a Eucharistic Minister for many years at the Church of St. Timothy, West Hartford and in area nursing homes. For many years she was also a maker of Baptismal robes for babies. Sharon L. (Algren) Gray, 77, of Bristol, beloved wife of Charles H. Gray, died on Friday (February 23, 2024) at Hartford Hospital. Sharon was born on August 12, 1946 in Naugatuck and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Arlene (Caouette) Algren. She was raised in Naugatuck graduating from Naugatuck High School. She lived in Naugatuck raising her family until her move to Bristol with Charles in the 1980’s. She worked hard as a housekeeper raising her six children. She also served as Ombudsman in Naugatuck, New Britain, and Bristol. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Terryville, where she was past-president of the council. She was also active within the ministries of the church including starting the Small Angels Ministry, which gave away free diapers and formula. In addition to her husband of 38 years, Sharon is survived by her children: Pattie Farkash and husband, Alex, Elizabeth Neto-Pereira and husband, Joe, Melissa Adames, Jennifer Devine, Robin Miessau, and Adalberto Rodriquez and wife, Carmen; three siblings: Arthur Algren, Susan DiStiso, and David Algren; 16 grandchildren: Cassandra, Michael, Alexis, Adrian, AJ, Nick, Audrey, Emily, Tiffany, Sara, Aaron, Arianna, Antonio, Mia, Jarrett, and Marco; many great-grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Tuesday between 6 and 7:30 PM followed by a service to remember at 7:30 PM. Born in Relva, Castro Daire Portugal, he came to the Hartford area in 1975. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Hartford.Inocencio is survived by his daughter, Arminda Smith and son-in-law Michael Smith; his granddaughter, Kristie Pereira; his grandson, James Smith; his two sisters, Maria Augusta Silva and Laurentina Silva and her husband Jose Silva; and his brother-in-law, Joaquim Ferreira and his wife Maria do Ceu Ferreira. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.
