Brakke, Deborah E. "Debbie", 62, of Pinellas Park, unexpectedly passed away in her home on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Born November 14th, 1960, in Denver, CO, the family moved to St. Petersburg, FL, when she was a toddler, the only girl sandwiched between three boys. She was raised in St. Petersburg, graduating from St. Jude's Elementary and St. Petersburg Catholic High. She earned a degree in mass communications from FSU, moved to New Jersey, and went to work with a company marketing music videos to independent, non-MTV TV stations around the country. After a number of years there, she continued in the TV world becoming program director for a Savannah, GA, TV station and moving there. As time marched on, she decided to live closer to her roots and relocated to Redington Shores, FL, while keeping her Savannah TV station job. Debbie loved doing volunteer work for the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, in particular any time with Winter the dolphin. Eventually easing up on her work life, she became an administrative assistant, last working with an independent St. Petersburg financial planner and taking up residence in Pinellas Park. She loved arts & crafts and tending to her orchids. She always saw the humor in things and could make anyone laugh with her command of puns and witty remarks. She was an avid book reader, enjoyed yoga, and relished time with her friends. Debbie was teased throughout her life by her surviving brothers, Stephen of Jacksonville, David (Judy) of St. Petersburg, and Brian (Tracey) of St. Petersburg. She loved spending time with her nieces, nephews, and grand nieces. In keeping with Debbie's wishes, there will be no service. She asks her family and friends to please celebrate her life however you see fit.
