Deanna Mae (Shaffer) Horvath, age 81, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, after a two-and-a-half-year struggle with kidney disease. Deanna was born on May 31, 1941 in Port Treverton, Pennsylvania to Carl and Evelyn Kerstetter Shaffer. She graduated from Selinsgrove High School in 1959. She served a tour of duty in the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged in 1963 with the rank of Lance Corporal. Her hobbies included Nascar, Southern Gospel music, and word puzzle books. Deanna went on to be a wife, mother, and beloved grandmother. She was joint owner and Office Manager for Fashion Kitchens Inc. She was also very proficient in accounting and record keeping for Fine Line Tile. Deanna was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ for over 48 years. She is remembered for her faithful service as a Sunday School Bus Captain, a 3-4 year-old pre-school teacher, a loyal nursery worker, and a children's church minister at Daytona Beach Baptist Church and School. Later on, she was a faithful bookkeeper at Indian River Baptist Church and charter member of Space Coast Baptist Church. Of all her joys, her greatest joy was leading children to Christ. Deanna is survived by her husband of 43 years, David Horvath, and their child, Rebekah Schill (Dan); and her three children Kim Guinta, Mark Sundquist (Terri), and Darrell Sundquist (Lauren) from her previous marriage to the late David Sundquist. She had 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Border, Rose Goodling, Judy Wertz (Edward), Linda Nace (Richard), and Karen Auman (Michael) all of Pennsylvania. Visitation will be held at the Space Coast Baptist Church 223 North Samsula Drive, New Smyrna Beach, on Saturday, June 25, 2022,from 12:00 to 2:00 pm with a celebration of her life following at 2 pm.
