HAWES, Dawn Marie - of Chesaning, died Monday, September 11, 2023, at Memorial Healthcare in Owosso. She was 67 years of age. Dawn was born September 22, 1955, in Byron, MI to the late Cloris and Mary (Gross) Witherell and was a longtime resident of the Chesaning area. She retired from Hehr-Lippert Industries in 2017 with over 10 years seniority. Dawn enjoyed being with her dog, playing games on the internet, watching TV, talking to family and in her younger years she enjoyed riding her Harley. She also was known as "Firecracker" on the CB radio. Surviving are: 3 children: Sherry Palmer (Chris Hankins) of Hale, Vicky Merseraull (Don Simons) of Ashley, Kelly Bramen of Greenville; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; companion, Aaron Forbus of Chesaning; sisters, Janet Stevens of Brant and Pamela Stevens of Chesaning; sister-in-law, Norma Witherell of Saginaw; step-father, James Newvine of Chesaning; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hawes; and a brother, Terry Witherell. A memorial gathering in honor of Dawn will be held at 12 noon Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Henderson Park in Henderson, MI. Lenora (Fulkerson) Olds passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023 at Oliver Woods Retirement Village in Owosso Michigan. Lenora was born on February 13, 1932 in Lansing, MI to Charles G Fulkerson and Blanche Lenora (Tibbitts) Fulkerson. She was a 1950 graduate of East Lansing High School and earned her Bachelor's degree in Teaching at Michigan State College. On August 14th, 1954 Lenora married Wendell Harold Olds at People's Church in East Lansing, MI; married for 58 years until Wendell passed in 2012, they were blessed with three daughters. Lenora taught Elementary school for just 1 year before her husband was drafted into the Navy and she went to California to be near his Base in San Diego before returning to East Lansing. Lenora loved to read and spent many years delivering Library Books to shut-ins all over Shiawassee County. She and Wendell loved to travel and often planned their vacations aroundgoing to places across the country that would afford them the opportunity to add Bird species to their National Audubon Society Life Lists. After retirement, the couple continued to travel and enjoyed many Senior Bus Trips including several cruises and a trip to England and Scotland where she was able to visit her life-long Pen Pal. Lenora enjoyed collecting Bookmarks and amassed over 4000 that she had purchased or were given to her or made for her by family and friends. She proudly displayed them and kept meticulous records of each one. Lenora was a long time member of Graham Church before joining Red Cedar Church later in life. She loved the Lord and enjoyed worshipping and serving beside her husband. Lenora is survived by her daughters, Sally (Ken) Stopczynski, Sharl (Stephen) Keech and Teresa (Jody) Palmer, Grandchildren; Jennifer(Chris) Redfearn, Christopher (Monica) Stopczynski, Mark (Kate) Stopczynski, Kenneth (Caprice) Stopczynski; 12 great-grandchildren; sister in law Marilyn Janson and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Wendell, brother Charles Fulkerson Jr and sister Jeanne (Fulkerson) Frederick. Cheryl Ann Hawkes, a woman of spirited passion and boundless love, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2023, in Owosso, Michigan. A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, 214 S. Main St. , Perry, MI 48872. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM until the time of service. Born on May 31, 1960, in Howell, Michigan, to Roy and Elizabeth (Smith) Britten, she carried her hometown's warmth and resilience throughout her life. Cheryl was a proud graduate of Fowlerville High School, where she developed a strong work ethic that would follow her into her professional life. She dedicated many years to managing the vending machine department for Coca Cola, a testament to her relentless drive and commitment. She was a hard worker, always striving to ensure the highest quality of service and satisfaction for her customers and colleagues. Cheryl was a loving mother to Travis (Ashley) Palmer, Kyle Palmer, and Jaison Hawkes. Her love for her family was infinite and unconditional, always putting their needs before her own. Blessed with four grandchildren, Jacob Kraszewski, Sophia Sturgis, Avalynn Palmer, and Scarlet Palmer, Cheryl embraced the role of a doting grandmother with open arms and a warm heart. Cheryl held a deep affection for her siblings, Dick (Marge) Britten, Brad Britten, Bruce (Janis) Britten, and Bud Britten. Together, they shared countless memories and created a bond that transcended the confines of time and space. Their shared laughter and mutual support were a significant part of Cheryl's life, providing her with a solid foundation of love and camaraderie. She loved her nieces and nephews with special appreciation to Tom and Kris Brady for all the help and support she has offered. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ron Britten and sister, Carol Slocum. Cheryl had a deep love for the arts, particularly music and film. She enjoyed watching movies from the 80's, her eyes always sparkling with delight at the nostalgia they evoked. Listening to music was another pastime she cherished, often filling her home with melodies that brought joy to her and those around her. Above all, Cheryl loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed filling the rooms with laughter and creating memories that will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her. Cheryl Ann Hawkes was a woman of great passion and spirit. She approached every day with a smile, spreading joy and love to everyone she met. Her loss is deeply felt, but her legacy of love, passion, and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will forever be a beacon of love and joy for all who knew her. Peggy Ann Corp, age 71, of Owosso, MI, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Pleasant View Senior Living, Corunna. A Celebration of Peggy's Life will be held at the American Legion Post 248, Laingsburg, MI, at 1:00 P. M. on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI at a later date. Peggy was born in Owosso, Michigan on November 29, 1951, the daughter of Richard and Reba (Ackels) Rummell. She graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School with the class of 1970. On December 17, 1971, Peggy married Steven Ray Corp at the Grove Bible Church. They were married twenty-seven years prior to his death on January 8, 1998. Peggy enjoyed life and was a great jokester. She loved people and enjoyed making them smile. Peggy was a great baker and her family loved all her Christmas candy and cookies. She also liked crafts and painting. She loved her family most of all. Peggy is survived by her daughter Jenny Goodrich, son Jerry (Heather) Corp, four grandchildren: Brittany (Todd) Greene, Dylan (Lilly) Corp, Abbie Corp, and Kaitlyn Corp; three siblings: Cathy Lennon, Mike Rummell, and Luann (Randy) Corner; and many nieces and nephews. Per Bobby's wishes, cremation has taken place, and he will be laid to rest, with military honors, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Bobby Jones was born on May 23, 1944 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Marvin L . and Wanda Louise (Jackson) Jones. He graduated from Durand High School in 1962 and went off to serve our country with the United States Army. He worked for 32 years at General Motors before retiring in 1997. Bobby was a member of the Pentecostal Church, Disabled American Veterans and he enjoyed reading, word search puzzles and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He is survived by his wife, Dona; children, Tamara Marie Perkins of Owosso, Marlesa Kay (Jon) Jones of Durand, and Guy Robert Jones of Lennon; stepchildren, Dale Edward (Melissa) Shiffer of Bancroft, and Charlotte Elizabeth (Krystal) Sage of Perry; grandchildren, Matthew, Zachariah, Kyle, Katie, Destiny, Jarin, and Wyatt; siblings, Shirley (Tom) Jones of Owosso, Larry (Lisa) Jones of Corunna, and Jerry Jones; Bobby is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and his fury family, Joey and Jake.
