"Eulala Watson Pace, 95, of Lyman, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at NHC of Greenville. Born October 16, 1928 she was the daughter of John Watson and Ruth Hatcher Watson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Adger William Pace, her parents, sisters Marian (Sally) Wellman and Kathleen (Kathy) Bridwell and a brother, Rev. Choice E. Watson. She is survived by a daughter, Reba Snow and her husband, Dean of Reidville; a son, Paul Watson Pace of Lyman; two grandsons; Jeffery Scott Snow and his wife Amanda of Reidville; Kenneth Wayne Snow and his wife Amanda of Reidville; two great-granddaughters, Sierra Griffin of Reidville and Kendra Leigh Petty of Moore; a great great granddaughter, Kinley Elise Petty of Moore; a sister, Martha Cannon and her husband, James of Lyman; a sister-in-law, Lavada Casey, of Lyman; loving nieces and nephews, and a very special extended family member, Dr. Patricia Crawford of Greenville and John Joseph of Lexington. Mrs. Pace was the manager of Lyman Federal Credit Union until the merger with Founders Federal Credit Union. She enjoyed a career in the Credit Union Movement where her positive impact was recognized on local, chapter, state and national levels. Recognitions and honors include: Twice named Woman of the Year by the Piedmont Chapter of Credit Unions, South Carolina Manager of the Year by the South Carolina Credit Union League, twice given the S. C. Political Action Award for leadership on the State and National level, Credit Union Leader of the year by the Piedmont Chapter. The National Credit Union Administration Award, its highest recognition, was awarded to Mrs. Pace for outstanding leadership in the Credit Union Movement. The American Biographical Institute chose Mrs. Pace for inclusion in the 1973 and 1974 editions of Personalities of the South. Her biography was also included in the International Biographical Works of Cambridge, England. Mrs. Pace's leadership contributions include: Manager of Lyman Federal Credit Union, Vice-President of Founders Federal Credit Union, President of Piedmont Chapter of Credit Unions, President of South Carolina Managers association, President of South Carolina Executive Society, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Credit Union League, Chairman of the State Legislative Forum, Representative of Liberty/Ellis Island Restoration Foundation on behalf of credit unions. In addition to her career activities, she found time to be involved in civic and charitable endeavors. She previously served as President of Lyman Elementary PTA of Lyman Elementary School and on the District Five Council. She was active in the Lym Anns Club and was twice named Lym Ann of the Year for her outstanding contributions to this charitable club. Mrs. Pace was a member of the planning committee for "Breaking Bread for Jesus, Inc. Soup Kitchen. " She, along with others, saw a need to serve and feed those in need, prayed for God's will and guidance and then went to work to do God's will. She worked diligently to secure funds and was a part of many fundraising projects. The soup kitchen brought much joy and many blessings into her life and it always remained very close to her heart. Thank you, Gale and Ron Eanes, for giving Eulala the opportunity to serve her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and to help feed His sheep. The Prayer Room in the soup kitchen is named in honor of Eulala Pace. Her interest in her profession of banking inspired her to take advantage of a multiplicity of education opportunities including the Southeastern Credit Union School which she attended at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta and the University of Georgia in Athens. She graduated in 1972. Prior to the merger of Calvary Baptist Church and LifeSong Church, Mrs. Pace was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and had previously served as WMU Director, Acteens Director, Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, Church Hostess and served on numerous committees. She has continued to diligently dedicate her time and talents to programs and activities of LifeSong Church. It can truly be said that Eulala Pace deeply loved her family friends, community, LifeSong Church and indeed this great nation. She truly made a positive impact on the people and places she loved. She will be missed in many ways and many places. The family will receive friends at the visitation on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Living Waters Funeral Home \u0026amp; Crematory, 529 Spartanburg Hwy. S. , Lyman, SC 29365. The service will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Living Waters Funeral Home \u0026amp; Crematory officiated by Pastor Jeff Hickman and Pastor Tim Lyda. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers and honorary escort. Interment will be at Wood Memorial Park, 863 Gap Creek Road, Duncan, SC 29334. The Family will be at the home of Reba and Dean Snow.
