David Harold Susko, 76, of Washington, died Thursday, October 5, 2023, in the Washington Hospital with his family at his side Known as "Dave" by his many friends, family, and customers who he treated like family, he was always ready to brighten someone's day with a smile and an honest handshake He was born December 31, 1946, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Harry Susko and Mildred Ruth O'Bryon Susko Dave was a 1964 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School Following high school, he served in the Army Reserves He later explored a variety of professions such as jewelry maker and palm tree trimmer while living in Arizona, before entering the automotive industry when he moved back to Pennsylvania He had worked as a salesman for Washington Ford for 18 years and was still working in sales at South Hills Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM where he had been for 13 years Dave loved to fish with his two brothers, Mick and Bob, and the many fishing buddies he met on the streams and even online via fishing forums His specialties were steelhead trout and fly fishing, landing so many "really big ones" that he had to buy a second fishing vest just to fit all of the patches and citations he earned On November 22, 1989, he married Mary Alice "Mattie" Tomasik, who survives Also surviving are: two daughters, Rachel J "RJ" Susko (Alex Wells) of Bridgeville and Tracy Major (John) of Albuquerque, N M ; a son, Erik Howard of Los Angeles, CA; a brother, Michael H Susko (Joan) of Houston; two granddaughters, Ana and Ava Major; nephew Michael Susko, great nephew Kaleb Susko and great niece Madison Susko He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Grassi Friends will be received from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, October 9, 2023, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd , Robert K McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342 Services are private To to the family or in memory of David Harold Susko, please

J. ), James F. Sharon M. Rutan, 79, passes away peacefully, Thursday, November 2, 2023. She was born November 9, 1943, in Washington, a daughter of the late Charles and Florence Clutter Loughman. Sharon was a 1964 graduate of McGuffey High School and was a member of the New Life in Christ Church, Washington. She loved flower gardening, cooking, baking, decoration for every holiday and spending time with her neighbors. Her true joy was as the primary care giver to her son Charlie. Her husband, Jack Rutan died September 20, 2020. Surviving are a daughter, Tammy Burgess (William) of Houston; three sons, Harry Hartzell of Butler, Roger Hartzell (Nikki) of Bethel Park and Charles Rutan of E. Brian A Hayes, of Houston PA, passed away peacefully at his home on October 26, 2023. Brian was born in Bethel Park, PA on December 24, 1961. The son of Elizabeth Scurlock and the late William Hayes. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving daughter, Chelsey Hayes, his brothers William Hayes, the late Michael Hayes, Partick Hayes, Timothy Hayes, Kevin Hayes, and Neal Hayes along with his sisters, Mary Rose O'Neal, Carol Ann Cole, and Eileen Loeffert. Margaret "Peg" Betonte, 93, passed away peacefully, one day shy of her 94th birthday, Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in her home. She was born October 18, 1929, in McDonald, a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Shiel Walker. Mrs. Betonte was a member of the St. Patrick Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish. On July 29, 1950, she married Ralph Betonte who died July 8, 1995. Raymond A. Catalano, 85, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 23, 2023, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care in Washington. He was born February 21, 1938, in Westland, a son of Giuseppe and Maria Foleno Catalano. Raymond was a 1956 graduate of Chartiers Township High School, received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Edinboro University, his Master's Degree in Biology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and his Doctorate in Zoology from Brigham Young University. Dr. Catalano was a professor of biology for many years at the former California State College/California University of Pennsylvania. Prior to his professorship, he was a teacher in the Avella and Gateway School Districts. Dr. Catalano was very proud of his education and was the first in his family to earn a college degree. He was affectionately known as "Dr. Cat" to the thousands of students whom he taught and influenced over the years. A lifelong lover of music, Raymond was a dedicated band member in junior high and high school. In his younger years, he belonged to numerous dance and polka bands as a piano player and was a member of the Marianna Fireman's Marching Band where he played baritone and trombone. Raymond enjoyed watching harness racing at the Meadows. He also had a great sense of humor throughout his life, often joking around with his family, friends, and students. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish in Canonsburg and a former member of the Lyons and Kiwanis Clubs. Surviving are a sister, Patricia Fabian of Canonsburg, and eight nieces and nephews: Tricia (Dan) Alderson, Karen Breese, Frank (Lilli) Catalano, Jr. , Michael (Jamie) Catalano, Richard Fabian, Nicole Hale, Joanne (Ted) Hervol, and Diane (Tom) Hutchinson, along with many great nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are a brother, Frank Catalano, Sr. ; a sister, Rose Dusza; and a nephew, James Catalano. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation.
