Janetta L Royer, age 85, of Louisville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 16th, 2024. She was born May 3, 1938 in Statts Mills, WV, the daughter of Owens and Sarah Casto. Janetta was a loving wife, mother, and mamaw. She retired from Aultman Hospital, was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Canton; and loved camping, cooking, baking, and gardening. She was well known for her homemade biscuits and apple dumplings and her love for all her pets. Survivors include her children; Debbie Price , Kenneth Reed, Keith (Laura) Reed, and John Kevin (Wendy) Royer; grandchildren: Brent (Tammy) Price, Brittany (Robert) Griffith, Alisha Reed, Angela (Clarence) Elkins, Breanna (Tony) Moldovan, Ryan Reed, Kassondra (Derek) Dimit, Brandon (Lindsey) Forrest, Kirstin (Garret) Stutler, Heather (Jesse) Howard, Brad (Stephanie) Forrest, Kelsey (Korey) DeHoff, Korrinn (Zane) Fisher, John “Joe” Royer, Gregory (Halie)Reed, Grace Reed, Emilee Taylor ; great-grandchildren: Austin, Madison, Bailee, Owen, Carter, Bryson, Connor, Tucker, Wyatt H, Emmett, Weston, Olivia and Leona. Ron was an Army Veteran, a previous member of the Ohio National Guard, and a retired Captain from the Stark County Sherriff’s Office after 25 years of service. He was currently employed as Assistant Chief by the Walsh University Police Dept. Ron graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Kent State University in 1993, where he met his wife of 29 years. He was a member of the NewPointe Community Church in Canton, Wellsville Masonic Lodge #180, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Louisville American Legion Post #548 and the Louisville FOE #2374. Ron is survived by his wife, Lori (Gallagher) Springer; two daughters, Alexis (Sam) Sinclair, Emma Springer; his mother-in-law, Patti (William) Martin; his father-in-law, Larry (Jane) Gallagher; sister-in-law, Debbie (Chad) Browning; two nephews, Joshua Browning and Jordan (Addison) Browning; uncle James (Kathleen) Springer. John “Jack” A. Berkebile, age 85, of Louisville, OH passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024. He was born January 6, 1939 in Johnstown, PA to the late Willard and Mary Berkebile. Jack was an Army Veteran and he was a retired draftsman from Union Metal in Canton. He was a member of Fairhope Faith Church, William H. Hoover Masonic Lodge # 770 F&AM and the Scottish Rite Valley of Canton. Jack loved sports, but he was a very avid fan of Louisville Leopard Wrestling and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also was a very faithful swimmer at the Louisville YMCA. Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda (Jones) Berkebile; daughter, Jennifer Mehl; son, Jeff (Patty) Berkebile; a sister, Mariann (Jim) Rinehart; three grandchildren, Brock Mehl, Madison and Peyton Berkebile and his fur baby, Benji. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Willard Berkebile. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Kemper House in Strongsville and to the Care Team at Westlake Hospice. James Bruce Kagey Sr. age 66, of Louisville, went home to the lord on January 26, 2024, after a battle with cancer. Born August 31, 1957 in Canton, a son of the late Morris Kagey and Evelyn (Peterson) Dreher, also preceded in death by son James "Magoo" Kagey Jr. Jimmy graduated from Louisville High School and was a veteran of the US Army 82nd Airborne. Jimmy had a great love for the outdoors and fires on a warm summer evening. He loved a warm Genesee beer and enjoyed hanging out with his many life-long friends. Timothy Mercier Dornan peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the age of 77. He was born in Canton, OH to the late Kenneth & Christine (Mercier) Dornan of Louisville, Ohio on January 2, 1947. He is lovingly survived by his wife of over 50 years, Laura, sister Sally (Tom) Samblanet, of Louisville. Niece Amy (Brad) McNamee of Plain Township, Grand-Niece Arielle McNamee of Akron, and Army Officer 1Lt. Casey (Kate) McNamee currently stationed in Texas. Tim served his nation in The US NAVY during The Vietnam War from 1966-1969 aboard The USS FORRESTAL & Fleet Air Wing Three- Brunswick, Maine. After his Military Service, he worked for 36yrs. at Ashland Refinery/Marathon Petroleum as a billing clerk & product operator from 1970-2006. Tim enjoyed camping, fishing, carving duck decoys, building model boats from scratch, and especially birdwatching with Laura. Per Tim's request, there will be no services. He will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered at a special location. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date with his family & close friends. David Hugh Maxwell, age 85, of Louisville, OH went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 22, 2024. He was born December 4, 1938 in Homeworth, OH to the late Hugh and June (Fall) Maxwell. He graduated from Mount Union College and earned his Master’s Degree from Akron University. Dave spent more than 30 years in public education and was a retired principal from Parkway Elementary School in Alliance, OH. Dave is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marlene (Boger) Maxwell - Married on March 26th 1965 by the Reverend Harold Davis of First Christian Church; two daughters, Laura (Joe) Murnane, Cynthia (John) Murnane; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Keenan) Gutshall; two great-grandchildren, Emmett and Wyatt. After losing his mother June as a toddler and while his father Hugh was serving during WWII, Dave was raised by his late Aunt Vera and Uncle John at the family farm in Homeworth. Dave was also preceded in death by his grandma (Lana Maxwell).
