"David Gene Scott, known as Gene by his friends and family, a true son of the American West, departed this world on October 2, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born on January 29, 1940, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and his journey through life was one marked by a deep love for the great outdoors, a passion for rodeo, and a dedicated career with Sun Oil. Gene\u0027s legacy is one of rugged individualism, unwavering loyalty, and a profound appreciation for the simple joys of life. Gene\u0027s heart belonged to the great outdoors, where he found solace and joy in the embrace of nature. His love for fishing knew no bounds, and he reveled in the tranquility of the wilderness. He was a cowboy at heart, and his days were often spent tending to his beloved cows, horses, and dogs, with a special place in his heart for his loyal companion, Half Pint. His connection with the land and animals was a testament to his deep-rooted appreciation for the rustic beauty of life. In his youth, Gene was an accomplished rodeo rider and horse racer, showcasing his fearless spirit and determination. These experiences forged his unbreakable spirit and served as a testament to his grit and tenacity. Gene dedicated the entirety of his career to Sun Oil, where he worked diligently until his well-deserved retirement. His commitment to his work mirrored his dedication to his family and his passions, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him. Gene leaves behind a legacy of love and a life well-lived. He is survived by his loving wife, Johnnie Scott; his children, Tena VanTreese and husband Lee, and Jason Scott and spouse Alicia; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Evan, Olivia, Camrun, and Carmun. He is also survived by his sister, Darlene Lary, and a host of other family members and friends who will forever treasure the memories of their time together. He is reunited with his parents Rupert Val Scott, and Agnes Irene Scott. David Gene Scott will be remembered not only for his rugged cowboy spirit and love for the outdoors but also for his unwavering dedication to those he held dear. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we find comfort in the knowledge that he now rests in eternal peace, riding across the endless plains of the great beyond. "

Joyce Brent King joined her Lord and Savior peacefully at her home on Dec. 5, 2023. She was born on May 22, 1941 in Bloomington, IL to George Madison Brent and Grace Hunteman Brent. After graduating from LeRoy High School in 1959, she married Gary King in 1960. They were married for over 63 1/2 years and have 3 daughters. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister Cecile Denney; 3 brothers: Donald Brent, Glenn Brent, and Earl Brent; 2 nieces: Jeanne Denney Carlson, and Beverly Denney Baue; and 1 nephew Alan Brent. She is survived by her loving husband Gary; three daughters: Julie (John Pirkl) King, Brenda (Russell) Howell, and Amy Butler; 4 grandchildren: Amanda (Kyle) Roberts, Kayla Butler, Kyle Butler, and Grace Pirkl; and 1 great-grandchild: Axton Roberts. Joyce worked as a Production Scheduler at the Eureka Co. in Bloomington, IL for over 26 years. She enjoyed playing cards, Bunco, and square dancing. She was a member of and married in the LeRoy Methodist Church in LeRoy, IL where she lived with her family for over 33 years. In 2001, she continued her service to her Lord at Heritage BA when she and Gary moved to Broken Arrow, OK. The members there became part of her family. She devoted herself to as many charitable activities as she could. Her donations to Boys Town, St Jude's, John 3:16 and her church will continue after her passing. Joyce and Gary continued their love for square dancing by joining a club (Recycles) where they made many new friends. The rest of her Broken Arrow family was completed by her very special card-playing and Bingo friends. These special ladies became her loving sisters. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and all of the many lives she touched. A memorial service celebrating Joyce's life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Heritage Church, 5300 East Kenosha, Broken Arrow, OK 74014. "In Loving Memory of Robert Leonard Bishop In loving memory of Robert \u0026quot;Bob\u0026quot; Leonard Bishop, born December 26, 1924, and peacefully departed this world on November 29, 2023, at 10:57 am. Born to Myrtle and Leonard Bishop, Bob was one of five children, entering the world in an unconventional setting, the Ozark County Jail, as Leonard\u0027s father served as the sheriff. Bob, with his mischievous streak, enjoyed sharing the tale of how he narrowly avoided being a Christmas jailbird. Serving as a master mechanic in the Air Force during WWII and the Korean War, he played a vital role in maintaining bombers. Transitioning to the transportation industry after his military service, Bob worked with Frisco and later with Roadway Express, creating cherished memories for his children, Linn and Mary. Even after retiring, his adventurous spirit shone through as he and his wife traveled extensively in their motorhome. Bob\u0027s love story with his wife lasted 62 years until her passing in 2012, filled with beautiful love poems even during her battle with Alzheimer\u0027s. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, having fought various health issues to reach the age of 98, displaying unwavering determination. Reuniting with his beloved wife, Bob\u0027s spirit will forever be missed. Linn and Mary express deep gratitude for the strong and wonderful role model he was. Bob will be forever missed. "Willeta Lamkin, 80, resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away November 28, 2023. She was born January 11, 1943 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to W. C. and Lorene Lowther. She lived life as an oil patch kid in Phillips and Pampa, Texas along with her little brother Billy Ray. Willeta lived a life typical of most kids then: school and its related clubs, dating, church and plenty of family time. She was always drawn to music and longed to become a band director. As a child, she was told that band directing was a career that only belonged to boys and that music teachers were jobs more suited for girls. Ever the obedient-to-her-elders child, she showed respect on the outside. Inside, however, she was spitting nails and thinking, "You just hide and watch me!" Willeta's God-given talent, determination and the encouragement of her band directors in middle and high school helped pave the way for the adventure of a lifetime. Willeta graduated from Pampa High School in 1961 and spent a year at West Texas State University in Canyon. Her directing dreams took a little detour as she married and had a daughter, Tina. When Tina began elementary school, Willeta was more determined than ever to earn her degree and be on her way. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree with a minor in piano. She masterfully taught piano lessons, accompanied students at solo contests, blessed the congregation at church and played beautifully for her own enjoyment. The year after graduation, she and her family moved to Amarillo, Texas where she started out as a choir director for one year and a junior high band director for two. Sixteen years in Owasso, Oklahoma proved to be one of the most exciting and rewarding ventures in her teaching career. During those years, her unique and personal form of teaching was key and touched the lives of countless students, parents, the country and around the world. The Pride of Owasso bands competed in various states and appeared in the Tournament of Roses Parade twice and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as well as a fantastic, by-invitation-only trip to Dublin, Ireland. Willeta spent the final 12 years of her amazing career teaching middle school band in Austin, Texas and could hardly wait to return to Oklahoma where she could really spoil her granddaughters as only a Nana could, and begin another new chapter with her daughter, son-in-law and other family members she'd missed for so long. She spent her retirement years completely unretired and still teaching one way or another. . . private lessons, three and four-year-old kids in community preschool, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also spent many years volunteering in the community. Her accolades and awards in her years as a teacher and director were too numerous to mention, nor would she have wanted them splashed all over. However, she was inducted into the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame in 1998, toured with the Austin Symphonic Band, judged in several states around the country, and if that wasn't enough even earned her real estate license! Willeta was preceded in death by her parents W. C. and Lorene Lowther (Dudley) and her sister Wanda Jean Lowther. She is survived by her daughter Tina Getter (Kevin) and granddaughters Megan Tangellapalli (Paul) and Kristen Getter. She is also survived by her brother Bill Lowther (Arletta), nieces Teri Lowther, Tonya Richardson (Mose), great-nieces Alista, Myla and Corynn Richardson, a loving church family and extended family and friends. "In Loving Memory of Regena Schnackenberg Regena went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the age of 89. She was born October 5, 1934, in Brentwood Arkansas to parents Nealie and Hazel (Talley) Fine. She later moved to West Fork, Arkansas where she grew up and graduated from high school. After graduation, she worked at First Christian Church as a Secretary as well as attended college at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Business in 1956. She moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she worked at ONG and US Steel. While in Tulsa, Regena met the love of her life Alfred "Al" Schnackenberg in 1956. They were married August 16, 1958 in West Fork, Arkansas. They resided in Tulsa and spent 56 wonderful years together. Regena gave birth to her first daughter, Linda, in August 1961 and then in May 1963 gave birth to her second daughter Diane. She became a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in 1958 where she was active in serving in many areas. She taught Sunday School, served on the Board of Evangelism, was a member of the LWML, and was in the Sunshine Circle where she brought flowers to church members in the hospital. She especially loved to sing in the church choir and loved delivering Meals On Wheels with Al. After having her daughters Linda and Diane, Regena was a stay at home mom until she started working part-time at Sears Department Store on the sales floor in 1969. She eventually moved to a full-time position at Sears in the Administrative Office. She stayed at Sears for 28 years until her retirement in 1997. After they built the new Sears Store, she had the honor of cutting the ribbon on opening day in 1998. Regena is preceded in death by her parents, Brother Delford Fine, Sister Earlene Carter and her husband Al Schnackenberg who passed away in 2015. She is survived by her daughter Linda Young and her spouse Kelly, daughter Diane Williams and her spouse Steve; Grandchildren Brandon Williams and his spouse Nicole, Ashton Lipshetz and her spouse Brett, Courtney Sauls and her spouse Garrett, and Casey Young and his spouse Jessica; Great Grandchildren Jaden, Noah and Mason Williams, Harrison and Graham Sauls, Isaac and Amelia Young, and Wyatt Lipshetz. Regena will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 5 pm to 7 pm. "Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Stockham was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on June 5, 1940. She grew up on her family's wheat and dairy farm in Lyons, Kansas, where she helped the family by collecting eggs and tending to the chickens. She had a fun and loving childhood, running around the beautiful family land barefoot, climbing trees expertly, and lounging on the large sleeping porch. She was an animal lover, and in addition to her pet pig Rusty, she kept four pet squirrels in the home. She enjoyed playing with her siblings and had a fondness for light troublemaking with them. She and her sister Marie took snow sleds to the top of the slanted chicken house roof and attempted to sled off, miscalculating their adventure, and ended up buried in snow at the bottom of the chicken house. They used their sleds to dig their way out. She and Marie also once found themselves in a race they weren't sure they wanted to be a part of; their brothers Jim and Glenn Jr had coerced them into cardboard barrels in the garage. Once inside, the boys tipped the barrels horizontally and pushed their respective barrel down the sandy driveway. The girls remembered their hands being the only part of their bodies outside of the racing barrels, and how by the end of the race, their beat-up hands were all the evidence their mother needed to put an end to that day's shenanigans. Betty was no stranger to thinking outside the box. As a young woman, she became devoted to sunbathing, going so far as to pull a mattress out onto the top of her home's sleeping porch roof. Back then, she used iodine mixed with baby oil to soak in the sun rays. Betty had a flair for beauty and fashion, and this carried through her entire life. She also had a mind for logistics, and she worked at Lyon's Co-Op as a bookkeeper pertaining to agricultural operations. She attended and graduated from Lyon's High School in 1958. It was here that she would meet the love of her life, Dennis Jones. Betty and Dennis were married on August 13, 1960. This date was always especially meaningful to the couple because they were married on the same day as Betty's sister, Marie, at the same location (Lyon's Methodist Church). Betty wore her sister Jeri's wedding dress. Betty attended Hutchinson Jr. College and took business courses, adding to her repertoire of skills and experiences. She would work at Tulsa Public Schools in the Whitney School cafeteria and as a secretary for Oklahoma Appraisal Company. Her firstborn, a son named Bruce Allen, was born on May 31, 1961. Betty gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Jenifer Lynn Jones, on July 27, 1963. Her son lovingly remembers her as a very family-oriented mother, who had a deep sense of humor and acceptance. There was the time that, as a child, Bruce brought home snakes and dumped them onto a bed- Betty did not scream but calmly talked through the matter with him. He also remembers fondly how she accepted his long hairstyle during a time when most mothers wouldn't. In addition to loving her family, her other passions included antiquing and bird watching. Betty passed away peacefully at the Porta Caeli House at Catholic Charities on November 23, 2023. She is survived by her husband Dennis Jones (aged 84), son Bruce Allen Jones (62), daughter in law Debbra Jones (61); her sisters Rosalie Ayers, Jeri Myerley, and Marie Wilbur; her grandchildren Stephanie and Tommy Branch, Cassie Jones, Tracy and Nick Davis, Devon Shell, and David and Eva Culp; and her great-grandchildren Ben Weindorf, Bram Culp, Charlotte and William Davis. She is preceded in death by her daughter Jenifer Lynn Jones, her niece Julie Wilbur, her father Glenn Stockham, her mother Violet Stockham, and her brothers Glenn Stockham Jr. and Jim Stockham.
