David Bruce Ratliff, 80, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at his home. He was born September 1, 1943, in Indianapolis, to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Blythe) Ratliff. David graduated from Mooresville High School and on November 28, 1962, he married Patricia Lloyd in Mooresville and she preceded him in death Continue Reading x David Bruce Ratliff September 1, 1943 - October 5, 2023 David Bruce Ratliff, 80, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at his home. He was born September 1, 1943, in Indianapolis, to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Blythe) Ratliff. David graduated from Mooresville High School and on November 28, 1962, he married Patricia Lloyd in Mooresville and she preceded him in death on October 13, 2017. David was a Senior Chemical Operator at Eli Lilly for 30 years before retirement. He then was head night custodian at Lafayette Jefferson High School for 15 years. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and enjoyed bowling, golf, softball, traveling, museums and zoos. Bruce volunteered as equipment manager for Lafayette Jefferson High School band for 13 years. Surviving are his children David Ratliff of Delphi, Rita (Herbert) Wells of Lafayette, Gary (Adara) Ratliff of Alexandria, VA, Amy (Michael) Thompson of Shoals, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother Ronnie Joe (Vina) Ratliff of Cataract, IN. David was preceded in death by his brother Charles Lynn Ratliff. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Interment will be at Meadow View Cemetery in Lafayette, IN.
