David King Obituary

Brandon - David Jeffery King, 66, died Monday, May 8, 2023, at his home in Brandon. Funeral services will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 11 am with interment in Crestview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 5 pm-7 pm and from 10 am - 11 am prior to the service. Mr. King was born June 28, 1956 in Jackson, MS to the late Lowery and Charlene King. He was a graduate of Wingfield High School, Mississippi College, and Ole Miss School of Banking. Jeff was a banker in the Jackson Metropolitan area for over 45 years, and retired in January 2023, after 17 years from Citizens National Bank. He made many wonderful lasting friendships over the years in the banking industry. He was a loving, hardworking, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He taught by example the importance of putting God first and treating everyone with kindness and respect, being honest in dealing with others, and was always willing to serve others. He loved spending time with this family and friends, the beach, music and dancing. Jeff was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served many years as a Young Adult Sunday School teacher and a Youth Sunday School teacher. Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Lindsey Lang; and nephew, Thomas D. Pace IV. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Donna Smith King; daughter, Kristin King Lang; two granddaughters; Mazie Harper Lang and Mabry Quinn Lang all of Brandon, sister, Susan King Banks and niece, Melinda Looney of Houston, TX.
