David Hopkins Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of David Lynn "Hop" Hopkins, 64 of Crawfordville, Ga on April 10th, 2023. He was born in Greer, SC but has called Taliaferro and Wilkes Counties his home pretty much his whole life. His lifelong passion was driving a big truck and being a diesel mechanic. David loved to go fishing and to get the whole family together and go to the lake or just sit around a bonfire at the house. David was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and so many other things. His family will miss him greatly. They include his wife, Wanda Buckner; two daughters, Sandy Cape and husband Lee Cape III, and Lila Hopkins; two sons, Shane Hopkins and wife Shanise and Corey Hopkins; two brothers, Weyman Turner and Todd Turner; and sister, Lana Benton. David was also a proud Papa to 20 grandchildren and one great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother Hattie Dee Nunn; stepfather, Edwin Nunn; father Leland Hopkins; and two sisters, Barbara Jean and Linda. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 6pom until 8pm at Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton with graveside service following on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11 am at Resthaven Cemetery, Washington.
