Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather David Scott Geigle age 75, born June 23, 1948 in Salt Lake City, UT died peacefully in his sleep August 22, 2023. David Geigle was raised in the Mill Creek area of Salt Lake City just under Mount Olympus. He went to Skyline High School where he met Dana Rae Pribyl who would become his wife of 53 years. Theirs was a magical meeting and a beautiful loving union that inspires and blesses their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren every day. He enjoyed great independence as a young boy. He spent his summer nights sleeping under the stars and his days down in the hollow, a ravine across the street from his home. His two dogs, Lucky and Lady were his constant companions. He loved music. He played the saxophone and was invited to join a traveling dance band while in high school. They won awards in competitions and were excellent musicians, some going on to play professionally. He played classic guitar and piano for his family, singing hymns and all kinds of folk and other songs. "Rows and rows of angel hair," "sittin' on the dock of the bay," "puff the magic dragon," "rain on the roof," even "hang on sloopy," were some of just a few lines from songs that will be remembered because of David. Dana and David have dedicated their lives to their family members, and they love each and every one. He emanated a lifetime of abundance mentality and building of others. David has been a rock and guide for many through good and hard times. Professionally he excelled at providing for his large family thanks to an excellent education and great beginning as an Officer in the U. S. Coast Guard, then employed by Burroughs Corp. and Unisys Corp. He worked internationally in London, England and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. His doctorate in business and many stories from his ten years working at the Coca-Cola Company instructed and entertained students in his retirement years as an associate professor at the Oregon Institute of Technology and Texas A&M University. He has visited every continent but was always happy to come home. He would often say to his young children, "I go away, but I always come back. " His children and grandchildren remember him loving to be outdoors, playing any sport or game they wanted, especially waterskiing where some can still remember him laying out horizontally on the water, his elbow touching the glass, with a huge rooster tail spray at his back. He could snow ski down anything, his skis tight together no matter how steep the terrain. They have vivid memories of him playing back yard or beach football, frisbee, soccer, baseball, volleyball, croquet, golf, capture the flag, dodgeball, pickleball, swings, swimming, kites, fishing, go-karts, pottery, Elmo, tree forts, card games, anything; literally anything the kids wanted to do he was excited to play. He was a gifted storyteller, joke creator, and riddle challenger. He always knew just the right questions to ask to help with anything on their minds. He dedicated his life to the Savior and served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in many capacities, notably, four times leading congregations as a Bishop or Branch President. He and Dana just recently finished a mission as BYU Pathway missionaries. He is known for creating catchy phrases that would stick and teach, his most recent being, "Choose the Savior. Choose His Church, and Choose each other. " He is cherished by his loving spouse, Dana Rae Geigle and children: Jennifer G. Johnson, Jeremy S. Geigle, Elizabeth A. Frank, and Catherine M. Sundberg and their spouses; his grandchildren: Amanda, Janie, Sarah, Peter, Benjamin, Abraham, Andrew, Samuel, Tessa, Audralynn, Marie, Joshua, Hannah, Noah, Tofer, Charlie, Faith, Mary, Eve, Gideon, Annie, Juliet, and their spouses; His great grandchildren: Emma Rae, and Belle Marie; His brother and wife: Larry and Linda Geigle; and cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. David was preceded in death by parents Elaine and Albert Geigle and siblings, Ray Geigle, Ron Geigle, and Sharon Geigle. A memorial service for David's family will be held Monday September 11, 2023, 12:30-1:30 PM at 500 W. McDonwell School Rd in Colleyville, TX. The service will also be live streamed at the link which will be posted below. We regret that we could not reach everyone personally with this sad news. As a result, we missed interactions with many loved ones and friends. Any well wishes and condolences shared below will be communicated with the family.

Javier Mares

Javier Mares

Age - 20

November 22, 2023

Javier Anthony passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 12, 2023 and went on to enjoy eternity with Jesus. Javier Anthony Mares made his dramatic entrance into this world on September 6, 2003, in Grapevine, Texas. Despite being born 10 weeks early, at only 2 lbs. 10 oz. , he made it clear that he was here to embrace life and affect all those that would come to know him. He was happiest being surrounded by his family, and especially being right alongside his Granny. He loved fulfilling his role as Big Brother to Jacob, Lydia, and Papi Joel, and biggest helper to his Papi and Mommy. He was always proud of everything his siblings were doing and he was their greatest supporter and cheerleader. For all his loved ones on their birthdays, he prided himself on making a special Superman birthday card, which always included a large S on the front. He eagerly anticipated Sundays every week. His favorite place to be was at Church where he joyfully greeted everyone with a smile and a hug. There was never any doubt about how much Javier Anthony loved worshipping the Lord. When praise service started, he was always the first one to the front to worship. He faithfully served at Way of Life, Camino de Vida, and Lighthouse Church in various roles, such as taking up the offering, turning off the lights and monitors at the end of service, sometimes before everyone had left, and ensuring that his Pastor's iPad and cordless mic were in their proper places. No one was more excited to clean and vacuum the church than Javier Anthony. Through the years, he embodied all his favorite characters. His early years included Cat in the Hat and Popeye the Sailor Man. When his love for old westerns started, Javier Anthony refused to be seen without his cowboy get-up, as he imitated John Wayne, the Lone Ranger, and Rifleman. His ultimate favorite character ended up being Superman, and you rarely saw him without his Superman T-shirt and cape. Whenever anyone asked if he liked Superman he would immediately inform them "I AM. "He filled our lives with love, laughter, and joy. Everyone that knew him loved him and he left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Although we feel he left us way too soon, we know he is now directing the biggest angel choir in heaven. Javier Anthony Mares is survived by his parents, Javier and Samantha Mares; loving siblings, Jacob, Lydia, and Joel; maternal grandmother, Teresa Ingram; paternal grandmother, Rufina Reyes Garcia; paternal great grandmother, Celia Garcia Castro; many uncles, aunts, cousins, as well as Church family and friends. Donna Rose

Donna Rose

Age - 89

November 20, 2023

"Alone of human beings, the good and wise mother stands on a plane of equal honor with the bravest soldier; for [in her] hands rests the future of the years. " - Theodore Roosevelt Wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, our beloved Donna is home with her Lord. Affectionately named GiGi (short for Grandma the Great) by her great-grandkids, mom passed peacefully with family at her side. She was 89. Born on a small farm in Aurora, Kansas during the Great Depression, Donna was the youngest of three daughters conceived by Frank and Adelle Richard. Older sisters Lily ("Babe") and Eileen were kept busy looking after precocious Donna as she fearlessly climbed the windmill and explored the barn and pasture, along with the depths of the water tank. Her early adventures would prove an excellent training ground for the future challenges of raising three children. In the early 40's, the family relocated to Southern California, settling in the Los Angeles area. In 1950, Donna was married and transitioned into motherhood with the birth of daughter Cathy Savala in 1951, joined by son Leonard Savala two years later. In 1964, son Ken Jr. was born to Donna and her second husband Ken Rose. Sadly, Kenny succumbed to cancer in 2018. The family also painfully experienced the premature passing of two stepsons, Mike Rose and Jeff Rose. As her children grew and blossomed into self-sufficient adults with families of their own, Donna took up the mantle of office manager for Certified Caterers, helping build her husband's thriving catering business located in Lynwood. Ken and Donna's early life was spent in Playa Del Rey and Downey, moving in later years to Huntington Beach and then Yorba Linda. Donna excelled in home decorating and entertaining and was uncommonly gifted with hospitality, wisdom, discernment and intuition. In 2016, Ken and Donna joined daughter Cathy and son-in-law Lucky in a move to Texas. Unfortunately, Ken passed in 2019 after a valiant battle with Parkinson's Disease. Donna is survived by son Leonard, daughter Cathy, stepdaughter Michelle, plus numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren through whom her legacy lives on.Show more
