"WORCESTER - David C. Forsberg, 82, beloved husband of Florence (Ewaskio) Forsberg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center surrounded by his wife and children. Born and raised in Worcester, he was the son of the late Heini and Victoria (Lalumiere) Forsberg. After earning a bachelor\u0027s degree from Marist College, he began a long career with Norton Company as a welding technician before accepting a position in the Human Resources Department. After retiring in 2002 with 38 years of dedicated service, Dave began his second career. The following ten years were spent providing transport services to the patients at St. Vincent Hospital. Dave loved this role and he was truly at his best putting patients at ease with his calming presence and by recycling his favorite jokes to all the patients when they needed it most. Because of his caring demeanor, he was very proud to have received the Employee of the Year Award. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Worcester and he thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the ocean, especially York Beach in Maine, where he was never one to pass up an opportunity of jumping in the frigid waves and eating endless ice cream cones. He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 45 years, Florence who faithfully cared and advocated for him as his illness progressed; his son, Eric Forsberg and his husband, Rob of Boston; his two daughters, Angela Wilbur and her husband, Christopher of Plympton and Victoria Minka and her husband, Christopher of West Boylston; and his six grandchildren, Nathan and Julianne Wilbur, Katherine and Connor Forsberg, and Maxwell and Elise Minka. He adored his children and was a faithful cheerleader at all of their figure skating competitions and piano recitals and volunteered for many years as their soccer coach. His pride over his children\u0027s accomplishments was evident and he was never one to pass up an opportunity to brag about them. He doted on his grandchildren and they were truly the light of his life. He was the master of Grampy hugs, story times and stroller walks when they were babies. He continued his tradition of cheering on his grandchildren at all of their sporting events and activities. Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family from 5 to 7 p. m. on Wednesday, August 30 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
