David Bierley, age 84, of Paintsville died Thursday September 7, 2023 in Paintsville, KY. He was born January 15, 1939 in Covington, KY to the late Cliff & Eddie Corbin Bierley. David served his country in the United States Navy and was a retired salesman for Wrangler Jeans Co. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Ardyth Anne Keeton Bierley (9-20-2019). Survivors include his brother in law; Randy (Kim) Keeton of Paintsville, sister; Kim Bierley of Covington, KY and half sister; Elizabeth Dewdney of Phoenix. AZ. A memorial will service will be held a later date.

Nellie Ruth Preston, age 85, of Staffordsville, KY, died Sunday December 3, 2023 at her residence. She was born December 16, 1937 to the late Matt & Dixie Fitch Johnson. On April 16, 1960, she married George Preston in Martin County, KY, who precedes her in death. Nellie was a member of the Little Friendship United Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Blair of Staffordsville, KY, & Wanda Price of Offutt, KY; three sisters, Bonnie Adkins of Ashland, Maggie Preece and Ova Maynard, both of Louisa, KY; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 p. m. until 9 p. m. and on Thursday after 9 a. m. at the Preston Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a. m. She is survived by three sons: Christopher Shawn Adams of Huntington, WV, Eddie Dwayne Adams of East Lynn, WV, Gary Perry Jr. of River, KY, one half-brother: David Nicholas Fitzpatrick of Corbin, KY, and eleven grandchildren. On November 19, 1960, in Prestonsburg, KY she married Elder Bruce Howard who preceded her in death on February 13, 2012. She is survived by one son: Robert Bruce Howard of Tutor Key, KY, one daughter: Libby (Jeff) Peck of Auxier, KY, three brothers: John Bussey of River, KY, Rod Bussey of Berea, KY, Larry Woods, one sister: Karen O'Rourke, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
