"Dave Thrawl, 81, of Anderson, passed away on September 10, 2023 He was born on March 28, 1942, in Elwood, Indiana, and resided most of his life in Anderson. He retired from General Motors, was an avid golfer, raced dragsters, and was a motorcycle enthusiast, Dave also served in the U. S. Army. Dave is survived by his partner Linda Campbell, son, Matt( Michelle) Thrawl, daughter, Angie Thrawl, step-son, Terry ( Cynthia)Bourke. Grandchildren Taylor and Jacob. Sister Karen McQuitty and brother Ken Thrawl. The Thrawl family would like to give a special thank you to the Campbell family, for the love and care of Dave. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Thrawl, and mother, Katherine Thrawl. Visitation will be held at Loose Funeral Homes \u0026amp; Crematory, 200 W. 53 St. Anderson, IN. Donald Lee Myrick , born November 5, 1945 passed away in Thomasville, Georgia after an extended illness on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Don worked for Atlas Red-D Mix in Anderson, started D&M construction with childhood friend Dave Dowden and later started Myrick Trucking and Town Pizza in Alexandria. He worked in the trucking industry for many years as OTR driver then moved into the front offices and retired in 2015 as Director of Safety for Online Transport. Don always said he wouldn't work a job he didn't like. Don enjoyed NASCAR, the Colts and spending time with family. In his younger days he spent summers boating, skiing and loved telling about ziplining at 70 years of age. Survivors include sons Donald (Marie), Darren, David (Jennifer), sister Linda Musgrave, grandchildren Josh (Nikki), Richard (Julie Boardman), Aaron, Denise (Brittany Wimberly) and Roy. Eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Myrick of Phoenix Arizona; mother Edith Saunders of Anderson; and siblings Keith, Mary, Larry, and Robert. Rose L. Eldridge, age 91, of Elwood, Indiana, entered Heaven's gates on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at her residence in Morgantown, Kentucky. Rose was born in Elwood on July 3, 1932, to the late Rayfield and Opal (Roller) Hughes. On August 6, 1949, she married Burley Eldridge, and they shared 53 years of marriage together. Rose spent her life as a loving homemaker, and was a faithful member of Joy Christian Church in Elwood. She cared deeply for her church and fellow members, and always enjoyed the opportunity to minister to others. Rose was a true prayer warrior for everyone she knew. Rose is survived by her daughter, Patricia Earhart; grandsons Jonnie (Kim) Harpel, Burley (Marcie) Harpel, Tim (Wendy) Harpel, and Kenny (Teresa ) Eldridge; granddaughters Barbara (Jessie) Crawford and Christel (William) Motley; great-grandson Kenneth (MaKenna) Eldridge; sisters Alberta Buttler, Charlotte Ritter, and Carol Moore; brother Lawrence (Patricia) Hughes; many nieces and nephews; and several great & great-great grandchildren. Our mother, Connie B. Wilburn, died on January 21, 2023 after a long, full life. She was born July 17, 1932 and was 90 years old. Connie was a 1950 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School. She married Charles A. Wilburn on February 25, 1951 and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2014. She and her husband, Charles, owned and operated Mighty Distributing Auto Parts for many years. She had a love for her God, Jehovah and the Bible. That love she willingly shared with others. She was a longtime member of Jehovah's Witnesses in Elwood, Kokomo, and most recently in Anderson. Connie was kind, smart, witty, and a wonderful cook who enjoyed painting and writing poems. She loved to go shopping and her family often referred to her as a professional shopper. Connie will always find the best deals whileshopping, and she passed on those skills to her daughters. She was blessed with four children, Susan (Duane) Law of Anderson, Charles A. (Gwen) Wilburn, Jr. of Tipton, Linda (Les) Brooker of Kokomo, and Rhonda (Mark ) Diveley of Westfield; 11 grandchildren, Duane (Ashleigh ) Law, Lacy Law, Clint Wilburn, Tom (Andrea) Wilburn, Shannon Cross, Alycia (Dustin) Jones, Laura Brooker, Devin (Bianca ) Brooker, Kendall Diveley, Bailey (finace Taylor Reeves ) Diveley, and Nigel (Michelle ) Diveley; 14 great- grandchildren; two half-sisters, Rebecca (Paul) Evans and Judy Noble; and several nieces, and nephews. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Willis Ellis, Elizabeth and Raymond Glotzbach; beloved husband, Charles A. Wilburn; granddaughter, Erica Law; infant sister, Nancy Ellis; and best friend, Mary Marvin. Family and friends may call from 1:30pm until the start of the service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2317 Zartman Road, Kokomo, IN 46902. Ruth Schuck Justus of Elwood, IN passed away of natural causes on April 16, 2023 at the age of 104 at Ascension St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in the company of her beloved niece Debbie Barker. Her final words were, "I had a happy life. " She was a true example of strength and resilience, living independently her entire life. In her final decade, she was supported daily by her special friend and devoted caretaker Ethel Morris. Ruth is survived by sister-in-law Edna Updegraff, granddaughter Stacey Justus, great-granddaughter Emily Eads; nieces Debbie Barker, Sharon Justus, Mary Musich, Judy Beard, Janet (Roger) Ries; nephews Ben (Carol) Clay, Larry (Jan) Castor, Kevin (Stacey) Castor, Albert (Sharon) Schuck, Mike (Marty) Schuck; great nieces Cathy (Dennis) McAtee, Lily (Taylor) Barker Amon, Beau, and many other loving family members; and friends Rosaland McLeish, Ethel (Bob) Morris, and Lisa (Terry) Logan. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Gerald "Eddie" Justus, sons Jerry and Steve, twin sister Rose Castor, six brothers, one sister, and many other wonderful family members and friends. Never leaving the house without her red lipstick, she was pure joy until her final day and will be greatly missed. Thomas Marion Coppess, age 90, of Elwood, IN went to be with the Lord and Savior on Friday, April 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his residence; Tom's passing was the recause of several illnesses, but mostly from just plain old age! He loved life and worked hard to keep living it! Tom was born in Anderson, IN on March 8, 1933, to the late Earl and Bess (Furnish) Coppess. On October 17, 1959, he married Mary Margaret (Morgan) Coppess at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Noblesville and they shared 63 years of marriage together. Tom graduated from Sheridan High School in 1952 where he was also a member of a very successful basketball team. He proudly served his country in the US Army as a Sound Range Specialist at Fort Sill, OK, and in South Korea during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Ball State University, earning his B. S. and his Master of Education. For several years, Tom worked as a mechanic alongside his father and older brother Gene at Booker's Farm Store, a John Deere dealer in Sheridan. He retired from teaching history at Madison Grant Jr. High School in 1993, having taught at Alexandria H. S. , Duckcreek Boone, and Summitville schools. His students all enjoyed his stories of growing up on a farm and how he loved his John Deere tractors! He also was a longtime basketball coach at Summitville Jr. High. For many years, Tom was involved with the Frankton Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed antique tractor pulling and attending the Tipton Antique Tractor Show where he loved putting his tractors on display for others to enjoy. Tom's greatest joys were spending time with his family and when he was able to work on his own, or someone else's John Deere tractors. Occasionally, even a red one would find its way to him to work on! When he was no longer able to work outside there was not a Western on TV that he hadn't seen. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Mary Margaret Coppess of Elwood, IN; daughters, Patty (Van) Haisley of Fairmount, IN, and Teresa (Ken) Belesky of Anderson, IN; sons, Tom (Deb) Coppess of Anderson, IN and Terry Coppess of Elwood, IN; eight grandchildren, Curt (Whitney) Haisley of Swayzee, IN, Stephanie (Charles) Brennan of Davenport, IA, Katie (Ken) Brooks of West Liberty, IA, Michael (Brittany) Belesky of New Castle, IN, Ben (Ashley) Coppess of Alexandria, IN, Andrea (Adam) Mandeville of Alexandria, IN, Rachel Coppess of Elwood, IN and Cole Coppess of United States Air Force Academy, CO; thirteen great-grandchildren, Tripp & Grady Haisley of Swayzee, IN, Joanna-Grace & Maggie Brennan of Davenport, IA, Michael & Danny Brooks of West Liberty, IA, Henry & Edith Belesky of New Castle, IN, Everett, Warren & Essie Coppess of Alexandria, IN and Millie & Remy Mandeville of Alexandria, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents Tom was preceded in death by his brothers, Clem, Gene, Ben, Mike & Lowell; sisters, Rettie "Zode" Lehman, Colette Redd, Annette Hamilton & Martha Coppess (stillborn infant). The family wishes to thank Dr. David Mares, Southern Care Hospice, Tim Elsworth, Pastor Jerry, the ladies from Florida Station Church of God, and all those who stopped in for a visit, brought food, lent a helping hand, or provided moral support. We could have not gotten through this without you. Judy Kay Rogers, age 77, of Longview, Texas and formerly of Elwood, passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Judy was born October 14, 1945, in Elwood. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Pauline Duffey. Judy graduated from Wendell L. Willkie High School Class of 1963 and Kilgore College in 1985. During her working career, Judy worked at Ex-Cell-O Corporation and later after moving to Longview, Texas she worked at Knox Lee Power Plant until retiring in 2012. Judy attended the Calvary Christian Tabernacle for over 40 years where she was actively involved in many ministries in addition to being a Sunday School director. Judy is survived by her husband of 58 years, Buddy Rogers; son, Jeffrey (Chizuko) Rogers; granddaughters, Ashlee and Samantha Rogers; siblings, Lois Hobson, Jerry Duffey, Paulette Duffey, and Cheryl Norris; as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her son, Bradford Rogers; and brother, Raymond Duffey. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Elwood City Cemetery with Rev. Charles Chargois officiating. A Celebration of Judy's life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 27 at 311 East High Street, Pendleton, IN. with Rev. Phil Hodges officiating.
