"Richard R. Scudder 92 years old of Beachwood, passed away February 25, 2024 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Bergenfield, NJ to the late Robert and Christina Scudder Richard was a printer and had worked for the Los Angeles Racing Forum, Los Angeles, California. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. Surviving are his daughter Christina Gowan and her husband Gregory, his grandchildren Blair, Brandon, Ethan and Spencer. Also surviving are his great grandchildren Bianca and Gionna. Silverton Memorial Funeral Home 2482 Church Rd., Toms River is in charge of the arrangements."

Richard Barranger 10/17/1944 – 2/27/2024 Richard Barranger of Seaside Park, NJ died of natural causes at Community Medical Center in Toms River on Tuesday, February 27. He was 79. Raised in Pluckemin, NJ, Mr. Barranger was a 1962 graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School. He attended Courtland State College and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and served honorably for three years in the United States Army. A multi-talented musician and performer, Mr. Barranger played guitar in folk music ensembles before discovering a passion for theater. He was an influential member of the New Jersey community theater scene throughout the 1970s and 1980s, garnering critical acclaim for his work as a lead actor, director, and set designer. He served as managing director of the Craig Theater in Summit, and worked on productions at Edison Valley Playhouse, Foothill Players, and the Villagers Barn Theater. He was nominated for an NJACT award for Best Dramatic Actor in 1975 for his performance as McMurphy in the Villagers production of “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.” Mr. Barranger lived most of his adult life in the borough Bound Brook, NJ. He worked as a master carpenter and cabinetmaker, finishing his career with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ in 2009. A devoted husband and father, he was an active supporter of the borough’s recreation soccer and Little League Baseball programs. Upon retirement, Mr. Barranger relocated to the borough of Seaside Park, where he spent his final years. He is preceded in death by father Camille and mother Grace (nee Russett). He is survived by wife of 46 years, Mary-Ann (nee Lasko), sister Susan MacKay, six children: Terence (spouse Amanda), Ian, Eric, Brendan, Lauren (spouse Justin Young), Edward, two grandchildren: Henry and Harper (Young), and two beloved dogs, Biscuit and Myles. A viewing will be held at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 809 Central Ave., Seaside Park, NJ on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Catharine of Siena R C Church at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2024. Donna E. Lawrence “Donnie Lady Law” 64 of Toms River, NJ departed this life on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, to rest safely in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Donna was born in Ocean County and was a life-long resident. She attended Toms River school systems graduating in 1978. Donna retired from her career as a Correction Officer at the Ocean County jail for 25 plus years. Donna was a generous and giving phenomenal God-fearing woman who was everybody's cheerleader. She loved shopping, reading books, traveling, decorating which is evident in her home along with spoiling her grandchildren. Donna's favorite flowers were purple lilacs and roses. Donna was the fourth child of five children to the late Edwin Lawrence Jr. and Marie Lawrence; she is survived by her sister Vera Lynn Thomas of Pennsylvania, brother Edwin Lawrence (wife Maggie) of Nashville, TN, sister Adrienne Maire Lawrence of South Toms River, NJ, and sister Karla Beth Susan Lawrence of Dallas, TX. Donna leaves to cherish her precious memories to her children Sherry M. Gaines-Alexander (husband Condrew, Jr.), Shayla R. Gaines and James Gaines III; grandchildren Zana E. Gaines, Marques D. Alexander, Zyasia E. Alexander, Amir Graham, Yaqub Naheem, Mujahid Mason, Zariah Hodges and Zaheerah Hodges; great-grandchild Jaylen Meziane; nephews Joseph Bronaugh, Michael LaSane, Tyrone Thomas (wife Sarah, Talianna), Edwin M. Alexander “Al” Wallace, 71, passed away suddenly Monday, February 26, 2024.He was born on April 23, 1952 in Glasgow, Scotland.In 1957, he moved to Keansburg, New Jersey and resided there for 55 years.He later moved to Toms River where he currently resided for the last 17 years. He was retired from Anchor Glass and Heyco after 48 years. Al is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, De (Diane Drugas) Wallace, his son Joseph Wallace and wife Laura (Kerrigan) Wallace, cherished grandchildren Ryan Wallace and Kennedy Wallace, his dear sister Ann (Wallace) Filiatreault and husband George Filiatreault, nephew AJ Filiatreault and wife Bryanne (Marx) Filiatreault. Al and De were avid travelers and went on many exciting and joyous adventures. They religiously donated blood whenever they could and both had blood that could be used in babies. He was an organ donor and parts of his body will be used to help future people. He maintained his lawn and yard in a meticulous manner. Al will be deeply missed and never forgotten. "Michael Grisi 69 years old of Toms River passed away February 25, 2024 at home. While born in Jersey City, he later moved to Jackson where he graduated from Jackson High School, class of 1972. He attended Rutgers University and graduated from Rutgers Pharmacy School in 1978. After graduation, he worked as a hospital pharmacist at Kimble Medical Center for nearly 30 years before retiring. It was there at a hospital bowling league that he met Judy, who he married in 1994. They were both avid world-travelers, with Michael’s favorite destination being Italy. Michael was passionate about golfing and Rutgers Football, often combining a trip to a bowl game with a round at a local course. He ultimately played golf in thirty-one different states. Michael was also a published author, both in an anthology of short-stories and his own self-published novel. Michael loved being with family and friends He especially cherished his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and was thankful for his fellowship with the men of Bethany Bible Chapel. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River, NJ. Born in Rahway to Robert and Marion (Morgan) Catalfamo, Rob was a 1999 graduate of South Plainfield High School. Rob lived in Jersey City and began a career in hospitality. Later, Rob moved to Albany, NY where he worked for the New York Board of Health. Rob moved down to Toms River, where he met his fiancé Stephanie. They have a daughter Luna who carries on his legacy by sharing Rob’s comic style and musical talent. Rob was the Branch Manager of Citizens Bank in Manchester. His colleagues appreciated his kindness and empathy as a manager. Rob would love to help the elderly, especially when it came to helping them resolve and prevent fraud and phishing attempts. Rob loved to fish. He loved animals, especially dogs and cats (he adored his new cat Maya). He enjoyed comedy, especially British comedy. Rob was passionate about music and had exceptional taste. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching documentaries on space, astrophysics, and Star Trek. He loved playing chess with his family and friends. His favorite thing to play was Ni no Kuni with his daughter Luna. He was able to see Luna score her first goal in soccer. Above all things, Rob loved his family and could never spend enough time with his daughter Luna. They will always be best friends. He is the greatest father Luna could have ever had. Rob liked to travel. He aspired to go to Ireland and England to see where his family roots originated. Predeceased by his maternal grandparents; Therese and Albert Morgan and his paternal grandparents; Gladys and Tony Catalfamo, Rob leaves behind his parnter Stephanie Quarto and their daughter Luna, his parents; Robert and Marion Catalfamo, his sister Angela and brother Christopher and his wife Kristin. June F. Larsen, 90, of Toms River passed away at home on Friday, February 23, 2024, surrounded by her family. June was born in Vernon, New York. She graduated from West Palm Beach High School, Florida in 1951 and soon after settled in New Jersey. Where she met the love of her life Eric Larsen. They married in 1954 and started a family together. June worked as a bookkeeper for NJNG and the Office Lounge. She was always giving back to the community and held several fundraising events for the local hospitals. June was a family woman; she was a great mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the beach, gardening, bowling and was a member of the Women’s Suburban Club. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Eric Larsen in 2003. June is survived by her daughters, Sharon Larsen, Tammy Wetzel; son, Eric Larsen, Jr.; 9 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Cremation will be private.
