Services are currently pending with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne for Darrel D. Gilliland, age 83, of Wayne. He passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 at a Sioux City, Iowa Hospital. Darrel Dean Gilliland was born February 1, 1940 to Ward and Agnes Gilliland in College Springs, IA. He moved to Wayne, NE in 1943. He attended rural school through 8th grade and graduated from Wayne High School in 1957. He then served in the US Army for 2 years. After the service, he returned to Wayne and began farming. Darrel was united in marriage to Doris Hammer on July 29, 1962. They had 4 children. Darrel continued farming until he retired in 2012, but continued to help on the farm until 2019. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and our Savior Lutheran Church. Darrel enjoyed spending time with his family, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and going on trips with the Century Club. Darrel Gilliland is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris; their children, Terry (Shelley) Gilliland of Wayne, Rod (Linda) Gilliland of Wakefield, Shelley (Joel) Jorgensen of Wayne; son-in-law John Anderson of Hot Springs, SD; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Gilliland of Arvada, CO; brother-in-laws, Alan Hammer of Harlingen, TX and Loren Hammer of Columbus, NE; nieces and nephews. Darrel was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law; daughter Deb Anderson in 2017; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Brian K. McNaughton, 58 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at a local hospital, with his family at his side. Services will be held 12:00pm Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Brian was born June 9, 1965, in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Gerald "Jerry" and Rose (Hodgins) McNaughton. He went to school at St. Boniface and Heelan where he played football; after graduation Brian went on to continue his education at Westmar College. He enlisted into the Army where he served 2 1/2 years. Brian had a couple of short jobs before he started to work at Staber Meat for 18 years and in 2021 he started at Casey's where he was working at currently. He enjoyed listening to music and going to concerts he also enjoyed recreational time with his friends and family. Brian was an avid football fan of the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame. Brian is survived by his mother, Rose, partner, Jamie Myers, son, Dylan Myers, eight daughters, Brandi Bailey, Haley McNaughton, Rikki Myers, Shannon Myers, Rachel Myers, Morgan Myers, Jennifer Ewing, Kari Hildebrand, two brothers, Randy (Mary) McNaughton, Jeff McNaughton, sister, Lisa (Tim Ashford) McNaughton, five grandchildren, Hunter, Aubree, Ahnyx, Bentley, Carter, and five nieces and nephews, Randy McNaughton, Jr. , Meghan Gibbons, McKenzie Ingalls, Taylor Ingalls, and Tanner Ingalls. Lynn Gilbert Jarvis, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, December 4, 2023, at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa. A memorial service will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Holly Springs Bible Fellowship, Hornick, Iowa, with Pastor Jim Thomas, officiating. A recording of the service will be posted online at the Goslar Funeral Home website with Lynn's obituary. A luncheon and fellowship will follow the memorial service at the church. Burial will be held at a later date at Willow Township Cemetery, Holly Springs, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa. Lynn was born April 12, 1953, the son of Lynn and Ada (Lee) Jarvis. He grew up in Sac City, Iowa, and graduated with the class of 1971. After high school, Lynn attended Iowa State University studying Biology. Lynn and Cheryl Weinacht were united into marriage on August 27, 1987, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was an artisan wood crafter for many years. Lynn spent his life working with his hands and serving other people. He was a very down to earth simple man. Lynn was a member of the Holly Springs Bible Fellowship, Hornick, Iowa. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl of Hornick, Iowa; two siblings, Nelda and Carol; special nephew, Tony; mother-in-law, Mildred Weinacht; brother-in-law, Robert Lee; sister-in-law, Suezette (Bill); other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Ada (Lee) Jarvis; infant- sister, Jacquelin; siblings, Donald, Carlene, Larry, and Helen; father-in-law, Leonard Weinacht; and sister-in-law, Marilyn. Sheila Ann Middleton, 61, of Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Memorial services and private burial will be held on January 10, 2023 in Sioux City. Further details pending at this time. Nelson Berger Northside Chapel assisted the family with arrangements. Sheila was the youngest daughter of John J. and Cornelia (VanDer Maten) Kosters. She grew up on a farm west of Sioux Center and graduated from Sioux Center High School in 1981. Following her graduation she pursued a career in nursing, receiving her BSN from Briar Cliff College in Sioux City. She married her high school sweetheart, Randy Tilstra in 1982 and worked at the Community Hospital in Sioux Center. After Randy’s death in 1985, Sheila moved to Sioux City and worked at Mercy Medical Center, and later as a pharmaceutical rep. She met and married Ed Middleton in 1993 and moved to LaQuinta, California. She resumed her nursing career at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, as the nursing director of the Renker Pavilion. She loved all animals, particularly horses, and enjoyed pleasure riding and succeeded in barrel racing. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed hiking trips with friends. She is survived by her son, Christopher (Sarah) Middleton of Everett, WA; a brother, Dr. Gregory (Deb) Kosters; two sisters: Joan Morgan and Mary Anderson; a granddaughter, Alana Grace Middleton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Leah Sue; and husbands, Randal Tilstra and Ed Middleton.Show more

Richard was born on December 21, 1953 at Akron, Iowa, the son of Clare and Dorothy Lilly. He grew up on the family farm at Westfield, Iowa. He earned a GED and then went to work for the city of Sioux City. Richard married Dora Rhodman on October 20, 1972 and they had two daughters, Sherri and Jennifer. Later, he worked for the city of Kindred, North Dakota. Richard married LaVonne Konken on September 20, 1980. They lived in Yankton and had a daughter, Kara. Richard was a delivery driver for Buhl’s Cleaners for 18 years. Richard and LaVonne moved to Sioux Falls in 2002 where they owned and operated Eastside Cleaners. After they sold the business, Richard was employed at Omnicare, delivering medication. He was laid off at Omnicare a then joined FedEx where he worked until his health forced him to retire on Sept. 30, 2023. Richard was an avid outdoorsman and shot his first deer when he was 12 years old while hunting with his father. They also hunted ducks and pheasants together. Richard also loved fishing, especially at Lake of the Woods in northern Minnesota with his grandsons and friend, Tom. Richard is survived by his wife of 43 years, LaVonne; three daughters, Sherri of Hartford, Jennifer (Aubrey) of Athens, TX and Kara (Jeremy) of Sioux Falls; granddaughters, Taylor, Abbey, Savannah and Kaylee; grandsons, Kolby (Felicity), Aiden and Kaydn; a great grandson, Elijah; two sisters, Mary Smith of West Fargo, ND and Vicki Wolfe of Park Rapids, MN; and many nieces and nephews. H is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy Broderson; a brother, Russell Lilly; and nephew John Wolfe.Show more
