Darrel Dwayne Gibson, 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Cyril, OK on September 7, 2023. He was born August 31, 1952, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Richard Gibson and Cora (Gillian) Gibson. He graduated from Cyril High School class of 1970. Mr. Gibson worked in meatmarket management from 1968 - 1998 including stores such as Mosers, Wendy Gribbs, Herbs, Humpty Dumpty, Dunns, Save A Lot and many others. Later in life he enjoyed working as an oil field contractor with his son-in-law. Darrel had many interests and hobbies, such as bird hunting, loved his dogs, mechanics, gardening, carpentry, however most of all Darrel loved his family and enjoyed imparting his knowledge to them. Darrel is survived by his loving wife Pam Gibson of Cyril, OK, son Greg and wife Jennifer of Lafayette, LA, son Ricky and wife Shannon of Minneapolis, MN, daughter Amy Wood and husband Rickey Wood of Sterling, OK, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brothers, Steve and wife Susan of Anadarko, OK, Craig and wife Sally of Cyril, OK, Dennis of Elgin, TX, Kent Gibson of Cyril, OK, and many nieces, nephews and friends that dearly loved him and miss him very much. Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, brother Myron Gibson and grandson Bryson Malachi Wood. Service will be Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10:00 A. M. at Fletcher Funeral Home. No graveside services are planned.

Odie Raymond Marsh went to meet his Lord and Savior face-to-face on Friday, December 1, 2023. He was 97 years old. He was born on the family farm in Cement, Oklahoma on March 4th, 1926, to James Pearl Marsh and Margie Totcie (Seals) Marsh. He was the oldest of 13 children. He married Doris Imogene Clift of Cement, OK on August 13, 1946. They were married over 59 years, and to this union were born five children: Raymond "Dale" Marsh (Linda), Glenda Sue Capshew, twins - LaVerne Jane Marsh and Lawanda Jean Capshew, and Ricky Lynn Marsh (Karren). He had 11 grandchildren and their spouses: Cary Marsh (Cathy), David Dale Marsh Sr. , Stephen Capshew (Angela), Betty Capshew, Chrystal Red Elk, Jason Capshew, Dewayne Capshew, Amy Capshew, Robbie Capshew, Matthew Shawn Marsh (Lacie), Jenna Murillo (Michael), 18 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great- grandchildren. Odie started farming at a young age, and then worked in the Texas and Oklahoma oil fields for many years. After a work-related injury, he relocated to Cement and then to Washita, he owned and operated a successful cabinet shop in Ft. Cobb. He was a veteran of WWII and told many stories of his days in the Navy, serving as a 1st Class Seaman stationed in Japan. Odie lived a full life, and his greatest joys were visiting with his relatives, attending family reunions, and traveling around the state to attend gospel, country, and bluegrass concerts. He loved playing dominos, going fishing, arrowhead hunting, and bird watching. He was an avid gardener and was known for his green thumb. He dearly loved his family and extended family, which included his many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris, one son Raymond Dale Marsh, two daughters: LaVerne Jane Marsh and LaWanda Jean Capshew, his great- granddaughter Carrie Diane, 3 great-great-grandchildren, five brothers: Donald, Lester, Dillon, Earl and Stanley Marsh, and three sisters: Goldie Johnson, Margie Henry, Lucy Burkett. He is survived by two children: Glenda Capshew of Cyril and Ricky Marsh (Karren) of Duncan, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren, as well 3 sisters: Minnie Butler, Fern Bruce, Dollie Underwood and a brother George Marsh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Cary Marsh, Stephen Capshew, David Marsh Sr. , Dewayne Capshew, Matthew Shawn Marsh, and Jason Capshew. Visitation will be held from 10am to 8pm Friday, December 8, at Fletcher Funeral Home, 410 West Cole Ave, Fletcher, Oklahoma. The family will receive visitors from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, December 9, at Assembly of God Church in Cement, Oklahoma, with Donnie Miller officiating. Burial will be at the Cement Cemetery, under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home, immediately following the service.Show more

Bernice Elizabeth Sinor, 78, of Elgin, Oklahoma went peacefully to her heavenly home November 21, 2023, with many loved ones by her side. Bernice was born September 10, 1945, in Marlow, Oklahoma to Albert and Anna Schettler. She attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School in Sterling, Oklahoma through the 8th grade and completed her education at Sterling Public Schools. Bernice married David Sinor of Elgin, Oklahoma on March 31, 1962. Together they raised two children, Ronnie and Brenda. David and Bernice were married 48 years. After devoting 31 years of civil service employment at Ft. Sill, assisting in the Finance Department, she retired in 2016. Above all things, Bernice was a devout Catholic who loved the Lord and her church. She truly lived life to its absolute fullest. Bernice never met a stranger and was happiest when surrounded by her family, friends, and laughter. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, cooking, hosting game nights with friends and turning a game into a bet if the chance would arise. She made friends everywhere she went and was always so proud of her kids and grandbabies. Bernice is survived by her son, Ronnie and wife Beverly of Elgin, Oklahoma; her daughter, Brenda and husband Mike of Ft. Worth, Texas; a stepson, Steve DeCoster and wife Terry of Fairland, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren: Chris and Lalania Neal, Amber and Tyson Rule, Cheryl Neal, Randy Sinor, Chance and Cassie Sinor, Brandon Neal and Fiance Tyler Hollin, Brittany and Joel Wolford; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson; a brother, Frank and wife Catherine; a sister, Mary Ann Thomas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Leonard. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Elgin, Oklahoma with Reverend Linh Bui officiating. Burial will follow at Sterling Cemetery under the direction of Elgin Funeral Home. Mark Deevers, beloved son, brother, husband, father, Papa, pharmacist, & friend, entered his heavenly rest in the presence of our glorious Savior on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Mark leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and zeal for the good of others in Christ worthy of our imitation. If you knew Mark for long, you knew he was not only the first child born in Oklahoma in 1953 but also the first twin in the United States. His parents are Perry (preceded in death) and Bertha Deevers and siblings Clark & Tomi, Sally & Richard Sutterfield, and Rita & Greg Hall. At 12 years old, Mark repented of his sin and put his faith in the Lord Jesus. He graduated Cyril HS in 1971, married Pam Trogdon in August 1973, and graduated SWOSU Pharmacy School in 1976, where he competed on SWOSU's National Championship ROTC Pistol Team. Mark and Pam have three children and 13 grandchildren who love the Lord Jesus: Dusty and Christina, Nation, Noelle, Deacon, Roman, Juliet, & Aniah; Robby and Jamie, Kobi, Jaxon, Kreed, & Jett; and Chelsey and Jonathan Holloway, Hudson, Henley, & Hollyn. Mark loved the Lord Jesus and joyfully spent his life for the glory of God and the good of his family and community. Dr. Deevers started Elgin Discount Pharmacy in 1982, zealously cared for his patients, and retired in 2014. He was the first pharmacist in Oklahoma to administer flu shots and awarded the American Pharmacist Association Distinguished Pharmacy Award and Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004. Mark loved First Baptist Church of Elgin, serving as Deacon, Treasurer, and Sunday School teacher, and warmly greeting every person who entered the door. He treasured Elgin serving as school board member for 22 years, President of Elgin Economic Development Authority, President of Oklahoma Pharmacists Association, Chairman of Elgin Municipal Park Development Committee, President of Elgin Wrestling Takedown Club, President and coach of Elgin Little League, President of Elgin Lions Club, volunteer firefighter, and supporting every person and organization he could. Dad finished his course, fought the good fight, is no longer suffering from dementia-like symptoms. Mark now delights, with joy inexpressible, in the King of kings. If you do not know Jesus, Dad would want you to pick up a Bible, read the Gospel of John, and call a Christian to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. The funeral is Friday, Nov 17, 1:00-2:00 pm at Elgin Schools Performing Arts Center, with a graveside service to follow in Cyril. Stoner, 90, of Elgin, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Doris was born on September 19, 1933, in Dallas, Pennsylvania, to John B. and Arline M. Hazeltine. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Doris was a beloved wife and devoted mother. She is survived by two daughters: Linda A. Birch and husband, Ron, of Fletcher, Oklahoma, and Cynthia L. Curtis and husband, Richard, of Garland, Texas; three sons: Donald W. Stoner of Elgin, Oklahoma, Michael T. Stoner and wife, Lorene, of Marlow, Oklahoma, and Daniel S. Stoner and wife, Rene, of Baird, Texas; 19 grandchildren: Todd Stoner, Tonya Sublett, Paul John, Jr. , Jessica Nevit-Wise, Amanda Stoner, Valerie Stoner, Sirena Apa, Katrina Stoner, Stephanie Profitt, Chris Perrin, Katilynn Birch, Jacob Birch, Austin Stoner, Marshall Stoner, Hayden Stoner, Erin Curtis, Anthony Curtis, Annabelle Curtis, and Evelyn Curtis; 26 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Lea Ann (Ferguson) Wolcott passed away October 29, 2023, at the age of 50. Lea Ann was born on October 4, 1973, in Duncan to Gene and Lois (Kraft) Ferguson. She grew up in New Jersey and Oklahoma, graduating from Walters High School in 1991 and Cameron University in 1995. She was absolutely everything to her family; a loving wife, nurturing mother, and world's most awesome Nana. In 1992, she married Brady White, with whom she raised two daughters, Amberlea and Bralea. In 2008, she was married to her husband, Larry Wolcott and they were blessed to bring another daughter into their family, Hayden. Lea Ann thrived in a successful career in government contracting. She was naturally gifted in the area of organization and was commonly known as the go-to person by her peers and coworkers to get complicated, deadline driven tasks accomplished. They knew she could be relied upon and stood out as a professional and leader within her company. Lea Ann had a soft heart and loved taking care of her family and friends. She was incredibly caring and empathetic and would always be ready to listen and help anyone in need. She enjoyed spending time outdoors hiking and boating and was always up for a new adventure. She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Ferguson and brother, Andy Deluca. She is survived by her husband Larry, daughter Amberlea and her husband Briar, daughter Bralea and her husband Tucker, daughter Hayden, grandchildren Brilea, River, and Sunny, mother Lois (Kraft) Ferguson, and sisters Andrea DeLuca Koonce, Anita Ferguson DeLuca, and Tina DeLuca. A celebration of life for Lea Ann Wolcott will be held at the Lawton Farmers Market, 77 SW 4th St, Lawton, OK 73501 on November 6, 2023 at 1:00 p. m. followed by graveside service at the Walters Cemetery.Show more

On Thursday, October 26, 2023, the last chapter of Lonnie Dee Nix's adventurous life was written at the age of 85 years. Funeral services will be held 10a. m. Monday, October 30, 2023, at Fletcher Christian Church, with Pastor Jim Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Apache, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held at Fletcher Funeral Home on Saturday October 28 from 5p. m. to 8p. m. and on Sunday, October 29 from 1p. m. to 6p. m. Dee was born May 31, 1938, to Jack and Helen Nix in Lawton, Oklahoma. Dee and his family lived in Fletcher, Oklahoma until he was in the fourth grade, when he moved to Lockney, Texas. After graduating from Lockney High School in 1956, Dee attended Oklahoma A & M University, before transferring to Texas State University where he earned his bachelor's degree in 1962. In 1960, Dee married. He and his wife Sharon had three sons: Tod, Tom, and Terry. After serving for fifteen years in the U. S. Army (both active and reserves), Dee spent several years working in insurance. In 1990, he returned to his hometown of Fletcher, Oklahoma, to his family farm. On January 1, 1992, Dee married Elaine Yates. Together they had many adventures, dividing their time between their homes in Fletcher, Oklahoma, and Riverside, Wyoming. Dee was an avid sportsman and hunter until he suffered a stroke in 2015. Since that time, Dee was lovingly cared for by his devoted wife, Elaine. The story of Dee's life is filled with many valued, lifetime friends. Dee is survived by his wife, Elaine Nix, of the home; three sons: Tod and wife Sondra Nix, Tom Nix and Terry Nix; children by marriage, Bruce Yates and Jolaine Travis; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Helen Nix; his sister, Nancy Hays; children by marriage: Jim Yates and Brandon Yates. He was also preceded in death by his precious pup, Bunny, who was his devoted friend for eighteen years.Show more
