Obituary of Darlene Sparling Darlene S. Sparling, 83, Whitewater passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at her home. Darlene was born on March 6, 1935 in Waynesville, IL to Albert W. and Sylvia J. (Russell) Cisco. She married William Sparling Jr. on April 25, 1953 in Springfield, IL. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1985. Darlene and Bill worked side by side at their business, Sparling's Brake Service , in Springfield, IL until Bill's death in 1985. Darlene then worked for Famous Barr Company as a buyer and manger. She retired at the age of 70 and then moved to Whitewater to live with her daughter Kay. She enjoyed traveling, hiking and biking. Darlene enjoyed decorating other's houses and she was a master seamstress and costume designer for Kay's theater company. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Sparling, Whitewater; grandson, Jamie Sparling, Mosinee, WI; great-grandson, Jordan Sparling, Mosinee, WI; sister-in-law, Doris Cisco, Alva, FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son Edward Sparling; sister Genevieve R. Watson; brother Eugene A. Cisco. A Memorial service will take place in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, IL on May 17, 2019 at 11:00am with burial will follow.
