Graveside services for Jewel Emma Turner, 89, of Musella will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Roberta City Cemetery. She was a lifelong resident of Crawford County and attended Musella Baptist Church. She loved to cook chicken and dumplings, collard greens, banana pudding and fat back, she loved everything George Strait and loved to watch WWE (wrestling), soap operas, Family Feud and The Price Is Right. She also loved her puzzle books, but most of all she loved her family. Ms. Jewel was preceded in death by her husband, James Smith Turner; siblings, Francis Harmon, Earl Childers, Nathaniel "Buck" Childers, Janette Turner, Ann Garner. Survivors include her children, Lisa (Donald) Moore, Freddie Turner, Gary (Linda) Turner, Roscoe Turner and Margaret Garner; grandchildren, Shena Turner, Freddie Turner, Jr, Nicholas Turner, Ashley Moore, Christopher Moore, and Felicia "Little Bit" (Justin) Sayre, Kelly King, Ana Short, Casey Albercrombie; nineteen great grandchildren; sister, Louise Bone; several nieces and nephews. John Jeffrey Kelso, XVIII, 67 of Mauk passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at his residence. He loved rock and roll music. He was lead operator with the offshore oil rig platform Henry. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Kelso and Ethal McAuliffe Kelso and a sister, Susan Sumner. Survivors include two daughters, Rhiannan Kelso of Butler and Jennifer Kelso of Virginia and his dog, Barley, who lived a spoiled life. Interment will be held at Mauk Cemetery at a later date. Wayne Blair Smith, Sr. , 83, of Roberta, Georgia, entered into his heavenly home on Monday, September 18, 2023. Wayne was born on December 14, 1939, in Waterford, Ohio. Wayne's love for God was evident in every facet of his life. His dedication to the teachings of Jesus Christ was unwavering, and he served as a living testament to the transformative power of faith. Wayne was a faithful member of the Way, Truth, Life, Full Gospel Church of Bonaire, Georgia. For many years, he enjoyed listening to the sermons of the late Reverend Frank and Ruth Sparks. With honor, Wayne also served his country in the United States Army before performing arms maintenance at Pyrotechnics. His parents, Leo and Mable Smith; and several brothers and sisters all preceded Wayne in death. His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 57 years, Janet Sue Sparks Smith; children, Ruth Asenath Moog (Phillip) of Roberta, Wayne Blair Smith, Jr. (Crystal) of Fort Valley, and Benjamin Bob Smith (Louise); one sister, Dorothy Smith of Florida; and one brother, Willie Smith of Ohio; Ashley, Delta and Joe Moog, Sarah Appleton, Sasha and Joshua Smith, and Cade Cox; as well as 9 great-grandchildren.
