Claude M. Loomis, 93, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023. He was born August 31, 1930 in Conneaut, the son of Kenneth and Louise (Woodworth) Loomis. Claude graduated from Rowe High School in 1948. He married the love of his life, Jean Downing, on September 7, 1950. They raised three children and shared 54 wonderful years together. Claude was a self-employed home improvement contractor until his retirement in 1992. Claude loved to travel. He went to Hawaii several times and traveled to Canada, Puerto Rico, Acapulco, and Jamaica. Besides his work, Claude's hobbies were collecting antiques and spending time on Lake Erie, fishing, boating, swimming, and the beach. After retirement, Claude and Jean traveled by motor home and enjoyed the winters in Florida until Jean's health failed and she passed away in 2004. Claude met Marian Gulla who became his loving companion and together they enjoyed his love for travel and the lake. Claude was a member of the Conneaut Elks Club since 1964. He was also a past member of the American Legion, the Moose Club, and the Eagles Club. He was a past member of the Conneaut Boat Club. He was one of the organizing members of the Downtown Coaches Club. Claude was a member of the East Conneaut Methodist Church. Claude's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have many wonderful memories of time spent with him. Claude was always willing to lend a hand and taught by example. Claude spent the last three years of his life at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where he made many friends with residents and staff. Depending on his mood, Claude would either ask the staff to go on a date with him or threaten to fire them as he believed he owned the facility. Claude enjoyed socializing and the many activities, especially Bingo. Claude is survived by his three children, Amy (Bob) McClintock, Butch (Nancy) Loomis and Sue Loomis, his seven grandchildren, Bob (Melissa) McClintock, Jodie (Matt) Pape, SallyAnn Campbell (Mike Keller), Jeff (Val) McClintock, Natalie (Craig) Huya, Claudia (Nick) Fill, and Erika (Dave) Granchi, 17 great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Arlene Loomis, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Jean, his loving companion, Marian, and his brothers and their wives, Duane and Marlene, Kenneth "Bud" and his first wife, Agnes, Walter and Marilyn, Carl and Joyce, and Jimmie and Charlotte. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty Street, Conneaut. Burial will be at a later time determined by the family. David E. Hall, 83, of 68 Wildwood Avenue, Bradford, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Olean General Hospital. Born October 3, 1940, in Conneaut, OH, he was a son of the late Kenneth D. and Marrietta (Ely) Hall. David was a 1961 graduate of Conneaut High School. On October 12, 1962 he enlisted in the United States Army. He was assigned to the 82 Airborne at Fort Bragg, in North Carolina. He was honorably discharged on October 12, 1965. On January 1, 1967, in Arlington VA, he married Sharon J. (Keller) Hall who survives. They resided in Arlington for a time, but soon returned to Conneaut where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Pittsburgh & Conneaut Railroad from 1968 to 1988. In 1988 he moved to Bradford and he worked at the United States Post Office until he retired. Dave was an avid outdoors man, who hunted, and he was a member of the Enchanted Mountain Beagle Club of Olean. Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon of 56 years, are two daughters, Charyn Hall, of Girard, and Torry (Chris) Gilbert, of Bradford, one son, Ken (Barbara) Hall, of Bradford, one grandson, Jayken Gilbert, one brother, Thomas (Deanna) D. Hall, of FL, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Joyce Greenough. Deborah Lee Rzeszutek,68, of Conneaut, Ohio moved on to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Debbie was born on August 12, 1955, in Conneaut, Ohio; the daughter of Richard and Eileen (Mackey) Neubauer. Debbie graduated from South Ridge Christian Academy in 1975. It was here that Debbie developed her singing skills, placing in a girl's ensemble competition in Garland, Texas. She married the love of her life, Steve Rzeszutek, on June 30,1979. They would go on to share 44 years together in marriage. Over her working career Debbie worked at Ashtabula Regional Home Health as a Nurse's Aide, traveling throughout the county. Debbie would go on to work for Ashtabula County Board of MRDD as a Workshop Specialist Assistant where she retired due to a disability. For leisure Debbie enjoyed crocheting and reading. Debbie and Steve were blessed to be able to travel and go camping. They fulfilled a lifetime dream this past winter camping in the Crosby, Texas area to be close to their daughter Eileen. Debbie felt blessed to be able to have lived 68 years and completed many life milestones along the way. At the age of 16 Debbie accepted Jesus into her heart as her Lord and Saviour. She looked forward to running into the arms of Jesus for a long reunion! Donna M. DeMarco, 98, of Conneaut passed away peacefully Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Lantern of Madison. She was born March 24, 1925, in Conneaut, the daughter of the late Thomas and Inez (Rintanen) Perkio. A lifelong area resident, Donna graduated from Conneaut High School Class of 1943. She married Robert A. "Buff" DeMarco on February 23, 1946. Donna worked at GE in Conneaut during the war and as a gray lady at Brown Memorial Hospital. She along with her husband owned and operated B&B Cleaners for over 50 years. Mrs. DeMarco was a member of the Eastern Star for over 75 years, the Mother's Club, Good Shephard Lutheran Church, the Conneaut Lions Club. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and traveling with her husband. She also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren as they grew up and she cherished the memories they made together. She is survived by her children, Connie Fedor and Robert (Patty) DeMarco; grandchildren, Dr. Jessica (Jim) DeMarco Rohrich and Cassie (Norman Thiel) Eaton; brother-in-law, George Woodworth; and great-grandson, Jack Rohrich; as well as many nieces and nephews. Conneaut- Sarah "Sally"A. Snyder, 87, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023 at UH-Conneaut Medical Center. Sarah was born on July 18, 1936 in Conneaut, Ohio the daughter of Leonard J. and Frances A. (Sedler) Vignal. She was a 1954 graduate of Conneaut High School, and attended Kent State University, studying to be a teacher. Sarah married her high school sweetheart, George J. "Cowboy" Snyder, on May 27, 1955, the first couple to be married at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. She was a devote Catholic, raising her family at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Sarah was a member of the Corpus Christi Parish. Her family will remember her as an amazing mother, selfless, loving, caring, and devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. All she wanted in life was to be a wife and mother, which she excelled at and loved family dinners and was resourceful yet created scrumptious dinners. No one rolled a meatball like Sally and everyone loved her Friday night homemade pizza. She was also a game show aficionado, an avid reader, OSU Buckeye football fan and had a keen sense of humor. Above all else, she loved her family dearly, treasured the time spent together and was very supportive of them. Donna J. Kauffman, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. She was born April 21, 1928 in North Kingsville, Ohio the daughter of Glen and Wavelette (Mayberry) Osburn. Donna was a social worker for the State of Ohio, Department of Human Resources for 32 years, retiring in 1990. After her retirement she traveled extensively, taking three Caribbean Cruises, a crossing on the Queen Elizabeth, plus touring England, Scotland, Asia and Hungary. She was interested in assisting the hearing impaired. Donna learned to converse fluently in American Sign Language. In addition, Donna was an accomplished ballroom dancer, competing in ballroom dance championships in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati, Ohio. She won many trophies for first place. Donna was a dedicated member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Conneaut, the Ohio Amateur Ballroom Association, the Red Hat Society, as well as The Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include her daughter, Kerry Green (Attila) Zobor of Arlington, VA; grandchildren, Laura and Nick Zobor, both of Arlington, VA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold E. Kauffman; son, Rev. Dr. Patrick Green; and her siblings, Violette Fuller, Carroll Osburn, and Glen Osburn. His death although tragic and difficult, he lived life to the fullest, always on the go, his spirt will live on his wife, children and family forever. He was born on April 27, 1997 in Conneaut the son of Ronald Todd, Jr. and Valerie Kreider. Ryan attended Conneaut Area City School and A-Tech. His family will remember him as the kid that did it all, he loved to go fishing, riding and hunting. Many nights and weekends were spent on three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and taking his on Ryan, Jr. out mudding. He cherished his family, was devoted to them and loved spending time with them and his friends. Ryan will be deeply missed by his wife, Samanta Lewis Todd, whom he married on January 20, 2021; children, Zoey, Ryan, Jr. and Emma; parents, Ronald Todd, Jr. and Valerie (Robert Crandall) Kreider; siblings, Danelle (Eric) Sigley, Rozina Todd, Ronald (Sarah Miller) Todd, III and Jimmy Todd, II; grandparents, Mike and Bonnie Kreider and Duane Crandall; and many nieces, nephews and cousins that he was very close with. Craig Martin Cleveland died peacefully on October 30, 2023 surrounded by his four children, a lot of love and an abundance of forgiveness. He was 71. Craig was born in Horseheads, New York to Martha Taylor Brown and William Ernest Cleveland. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Marines and served in the Vietnam War from 1970-1972. He was employed at the Conneaut Telephone Company for many years before becoming a paramedic. When his children were young, he volunteered many hours coaching at CLYO and was also a member of the St. Mary's choir. Throughout his years of involvement in Alcoholics Anonymous he provided comfort, support, and friendship to a lot of people in recovery. He lived his life trying his best to help others, despite the fact that he carried a lot of pain and trauma from his years in Vietnam. The multiple myeloma that took his life was most likely caused by agent orange exposure. In his later years, Craig fulfilled his lifelong dream of living out west by moving to Montana with his wife, Vicki. He found peace, comfort, and joy living just outside of Glacier National Park on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation with his horses and menagerie of animals. He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife of twenty years, Vicki Cleveland of Browning, Montana, his four children, Taylor (Louise) Cleveland of Conneaut, Ohio, Patrick (Carey) Cleveland of Ithaca, New York, Casey (Niki) Cleveland of Girard, Pennsylvania, and Katie (Tim) Sielschott of Lima, Ohio, nine grandchildren- Isabella Cleveland, Harrison Cleveland, Josh Leggett, Ross White, Jedidiah Cleveland, Kholton Cleveland, Camile Cleveland, Audie Sielschott, and Luisa Sielschott, his brother Dale (Cheryl) Cleveland of Horseheads, New York and his sister Connie (Bruce) Payne of Horseheads, New York. A private ceremony to spread his ashes will be held at a later date.
