"Dr. Antonio Roberto Pagliarulo “Dr. Pag”, 77, of Memphis TN, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on February 29, 2024. He devoted his life to being a beloved husband and father, as well as a compassionate physician. He is survived by his loving wife, Luisa; son, Marc Robert of Memphis, TN; his sisters Lina (Pagliarulo) Kunz and husband Dr. Vincent Patrick of FL, and Emma (Pagliarulo) Vagnone and husband Tony of Memphis, TN; nephews Vincent M. Kunz and wife Lori and son Vincent N. of CO, and Stephen Vagnone and wife Melissa of Memphis, TN; and niece Christina (Kunz) Fox and husband Connor and daughters Dylan and Nora of NJ. He was born in Panni, Italy (Provincia di Foggia) to the late Marco and Angiolina (Roberto) Pagliarulo. He emigrated with his father to the United States at the age of 10. A 1964 graduate of Rippowam High School in Stamford, Connecticut, Dr. Pag pursued his higher education at Washington and Lee University before graduating from Murray State University in 1968. He attained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Bologna in Italy, completed his internship, and residency at interfaith hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and pursued a fellowship in nephrology. Dr. Pag moved from New York to Memphis to open an internal medicine practice and actively maintained that practice for over 30 years. He also treated patients at Methodist and St. Francis Hospitals. Known for his quick wit and infectious laugh, he practiced with compassion and sincere concern for those in his care and took a personal interest in each of his patients. Dr. Pags presence will Be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Pag was a steadfast advocate for the values of hard work, faith, and family, which he instilled in his loved ones. While not working he enjoyed landscaping his gardens, collecting sculptures and clocks, history and current events, and gathering with family and friends. He was an active member of Knights of Columbus chapter at St. Micheal’s A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Canale Funeral Directors, 2700 Union Avenue Extended, Memphis, TN. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 8, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3863 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN. An interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 1663 Elvis Presley Blvd, TN. A member of the Memphis community, Mrs. Young was an avid Southern Baptist, hard worker, figurehead of the Memphis Gun Club, devoted YMCA employee, and loving matriarch of her family. Mrs. Young is survived by her son, Roy Jr. (Greta); grandchildren Nicole (Stuart) Davis and Cody Young; and great-grandchildren Ret and Goldie Lynn. She will be dearly missed by her sister, Patricia Paysinger, many friends, and family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy Lynn Young Sr. and is now dancing in heaven. John Thomas Gray, Jr., age 76, passed away on March 1, 2024 at his home in Memphis, TN, following a struggle with cancer. A visitation will be held at Brantley Funeral Home on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 1-2 pm with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. Born to J.T. Gray and Margie Reed Gray on December 18, 1947, he was the youngest of four children. He was predeceased by his parents, and three sisters: Virginia Billings, Jackie Ray, and June Baker. Thomas is survived by his wife, Martha; his two daughters, Wanda and Heather; stepson, David Evans; three grandchildren: Brian (Jess), Brianne (Matt), and Brooklynn; three step-grandchildren: Timothy, Dylan, and Sara; and three great-grandchildren: Kamryn, Raelynn, Everson. Thomas was born in Oxford, MS and attended Oxford High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, which he joined in 1967 and served in Vietnam. He was wounded and awarded three Purple Hearts. He worked at the USPS for 34 years until he retired. He loved his family, Ole Miss Sports, fishing, and playing pool. One of Thomas’s favorite quotes was by Oscar Wilde, “Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.” All who knew him loved him. He is gone from our home, but not from our hearts.

Judy Lee Pittman, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away at age 82 on February 23, 2024 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Leola Hardy, her infant son John Phillip Holden, her husband James Pittman, and her son-in-law Mark Dondeville. Judy is survived by her daughter Wanda Dondeville, her son George “Stan” Holden(Patte), and her son Jeff Holden(Marian), eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Her final moments were spent peacefully, surrounded by family. Known for her sweet personality and her love of gardening and card games, Judy will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life and not the sadness of her death. A private ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

"Richard Ostrom Nellis passed away on February 20, 2024. He was born on May 26, 1928, to Joseph and Kathryn Nellis of Wayne, New Jersey. Richard is survived by his sons Don Nellis and Joseph Nellis (Dale); his nieces Nancy E. Nellis (John Swenson), Katherine Nellis McGinnis, and Margaret J. Nellis (Fares Kerkeni) and his cousin Mary Bishop Bobbitt (Andy). He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Kathryn Nellis, his brother Donald Nellis, and his wives Mary Crumby Nellis and Lady Hennington Nellis. Richard shared that he was a privileged man to have two beautiful, intelligent, and caring wives on his life’s journey. Richard was raised on a large produce farm in Wayne New Jersey. He and his father, brother and friends hunted deer and grouse and fished for trout throughout their lives. It was a welcome release from the pressures of running a large farm. Professionally he was a master mechanic who could fix almost anything. Richard continued his love for hunting and flying fishing throughout his life especially upon retiring. As an army veteran, Richard served his country in the Korean War. In 1982 Richard and his brother Don established the Joseph and Kathryn Nellis Memorial Scholarship at Rutgers University School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS) in memory and honor of their parents. To date, the fund has grown considerably and has helped over 200 New Jersey students achieve their academic and career goals. The scholarship has continued to be funded through donations given by Nellis family members, friends, and corporations via matching donations.
