Astrid Elizabeth Pfeiffer, 89, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024.Born November 15, 1934, in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ernst Pfeiffer and Alice (Strobel) Pfeiffer.Astrid was a 1951 high school graduate of Friends Academy in Locust Valley, NY. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University, Class of 1955. She also graduated from Wayne State University, Class of 1967, Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, and Columbia University, Executive Certificate Program in 1976.She had been an attorney at Law at the law offices of Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft, Chubb & Son, Inc., and J.P. Mattimoe, and as Corporate Secretary at FPL Group, Inc.She was a member of the American Bar Association, National Director and member of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries, and President of the Southeast Region of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries. Ronald Edward Pfeiffer, 69, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Meritus Medical Center.Born October 5, 1954, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Arlene May (Obitts) Pfeiffer and the late Leo Harold Pfeiffer.Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Nanette Pfeiffer.He served as a sergeant in the US Marine Corp. He retired from Roxbury Correctional Institution after 29 years of service. After retirement, he worked as a security officer at Citi Bank.He was a member of Goodwill Athletic Association, Amvets, and Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion. He enjoyed helping other people, gardening, eating crabs, and he was a sports fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Commanders.Ronald is survived by two daughters, Roxanne Staubs (husband, Calvin) and Jennifer Lynn Pfeiffer; two grandchildren, Cory Staubs and Connor Staubs; sister, Karen Highbarger (husband, Paul); two brothers, Gary Allen Pfeiffer (wife, Cheryl) and Steven Douglas Pfeiffer (wife, Debra); and several nieces and nephews.A Memorial Service will be held at 4pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Alfred Glenn Ward, of Smithsburg, MD and formerly Boonsboro, MD, entered into eternal life on February 25, 2024 at Julia Manor Nursing Home. Born March 5, 1935 on a farm in Big Pool, MD, he was the son of Amy Ann (Drury) Ward and Leo Henry Ward. He was raised in the Keedysville, MD area. He graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1952.  Alfred served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1961. Part of this time was spent in Germany where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired from Trivo Company, Inc. after 32 years as a machinist. He also worked at the M. P. Möller Pipe Organ Company for fourteen years, and for a few years at Mack Truck, Inc.He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church where he served as a chalicist, acolyte, and usher. He was also former Sunday School treasurer. Alfred played guitar and sang at the Thursday evening bluegrass jam session at the Woodmen of the World Lodge for fifteen years and was a member of the Tri-State Bluegrass Association.Alfred is survived by his wife, Mary A. Ward whom he married in 1962, his son, David G. Ward of Reisterstown, MD, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by brothers John Ward, James Ward, Clyde Ward, Harry Ward and Earl Ward; sisters Minnie Ward, Mildred Ward, Sally Milburn, Blanche Violet, Julia Myers, Molly Marshall, and Hazel Myers.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 28 at 2pm at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 18313 Lappans Road, Boonsboro, MD 21713. Martha Lee (Polly) Shifflett, 88, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away on February 21, 2024, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown MD. She was the wife of Leardie (Larry) Shifflett, whom she married in 1963. She resided at Quincy Retirement Village, Quincy, PA. Born, September 17, 1935, in Security, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Martha L. (Grim) Ridenour. In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Ellis, Charles, and William Ridenhour, and one sister, Helen Rice. She was an active member of Blue Rock U.B. Church and the Quincy Home Auxiliary. She, also, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Martha was a Past President of the Hagerstown Business and Professional Women's Club and was active in many organizations during her working years. Martha retired from Verizon (formerly Bell Atlantic Telephone Co.) in 1985 after 32 years of service. She enjoyed music, reading, travel, and volunteer work. Service to be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the Blue Rock Church, 7885 Mentzer Gap Rd, Waynesboro, PA 17268, officiated by pastor Greg Helman. Linda Marie "Lulu" Price, 62, passed away expectedly on February 7, 2024, in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was born on December 2, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland. Linda, known to loved ones as Lulu, lived a vibrant life filled with joy and laughter. She was the life of the party. She had a contagious smile that lit up any room. Her spirit was as beautiful as she was funny. You never had to guess how she was feeling, as she never held anything back. Linda was a devoted friend and employee, and will be sorely missed by everyone. Linda, or Lulu, as she was affectionately called, had a passion for riding motorcycles and being near water, whether it was at the beach, pool, or by the river. She cherished moments spent with her family and friends. Linda could always be found dancing to any music that moved her soul, without a care in the world. She took pride in everything she did and thoroughly enjoyed helping those who needed it. If you needed her, she was there. She is survived by her cherished family members, Sisters- Pennie Maynard, Louise Dow, and Brenda Price. Children- Mitchell Hawkins, Seth Hawkins, Samantha Collis, Aunt Martha and Uncle Chuck Cox. Nieces and nephews Jimmy Dow, Kelly Maynard, Heather Dow, Billy Maynard and Stephen Kotowski. Linda also leaves behind many dear friends that became family to her. She is preceded in death by her parents John E. Price and Pennie J. Price, and Grandmother Pennie L. Bailey. A service to honor Linda's life will be held at Harman Funeral Home in Hagerstown, Maryland, on March 2, 2024, at 2 pm. The Harman Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements for the ceremony, where family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of a woman who lived life to the fullest and brought joy to all who knew her.

Linn Seldon Davison Sr. passed away in Hagerstown, Maryland on February 23, 2024. He was 87 years old. Linn was born on December 7, 1936, in Hagerstown. Linn is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Nettie Davison who passed away in 1986, and his father, Linn Watson Davison who passed away on December 7th, 1940 when Linn was 4 years old. Linn himself was a devoted father having raised 4 children: Linn Davison Jr. (Sunny) of Hagerstown, MD; Susan Hampton (Bruce) of Williamsport, MD; James Davison (Sneha) of Blacksburg, VA; and John Davison (Elizabeth) of Johnson City, TN. Linn is survived by all 4 children, 11 grandchildren and his sister Penny, also of Hagerstown.He graduated from Hagerstown High School with the class of 1954. An avid musician, Linn played the saxophone and clarinet. Following High School, he joined the Marine Corp and graduated from boot camp in Paris Island in 1955. Linn spent time in South Korea and Okinawa Japan before returning to Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune in Florida. Following completion of his duties in the Marine Corp, Linn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Shepherd College in 1962. Following college, he worked in the steel industry as a resident chemist, analyzing substances to determine their composition and element concentration for quality steelmaking. For the next 40 years he worked at the Veterans Administration in Martinsburg, WV. He started as a chemist and retired as the leader of Quality Assurance in 2000.Throughout his life, Linn remained proud of his service in the Marine Corp. He was proud to share experiences with veterans at the VA during his career there. In his spare time he enjoyed dinners and events at the Funkstown Legion Dixon-Troxell Post 211. Each year, he would loyally celebrate the Marine Corp birthday, November 10. He credited much of his success and fulfillment in his life, in music, in chemistry, and in his career to his experiences in the Marine Corp.Linn was an enthusiastic University of Maryland basketball fan. He loved to fish and shoot guns. In his retirement, he spent significant energy volunteering with the Red Cross and with Rockland Woods Elementary. After all his experiences in the first 70 years of his life, upon reflection, would comment volunteering at the local elementary school gave him significant fulfilment, and wondered what those kids would become. The family wonders, how many of them he inspired to join the Marines.The children would like to recognize Linn’s partner, Clarissa Dick, also of Hagerstown. “Chrissy” has been a dedicated, loving partner to Linn for many years. She is a steady, high-energy, best cook on the planet, woman-of-faith and is accepted as an inseparable part of our family.Linn’s wishes are for a graveside service, which will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross, the Marine Corps League Foundation, Washington County Public Schools, or St Marks Episcopal Church, 18313 Lappans Road, Boonsboro Maryland 21713.

Jimbo was born on August 17, 1948, in West Virginia to the late Elmer Leroy “Toad” Kelley and Gwenella Fern (Hose) Kelley Clay. He was employed by Shawley’s Gas Store until his retirement. Jimbo is survived by 3 sisters: Hazel Hardison, Dorothy Lewis, and Jaunita Kelley; 3 brothers: William F. Kelley, John E. Kelley, and George E. Kelley Sr.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was affectionately known as “Brad” to family and friends.He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church and a head usher for over 20 years. Brad was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending many hours working with his vegetable garden and landscape around his home. He was devoted to the medical profession and served many years as an office manager for Dr. Welty, and as an x-ray technician as well as a trainer and instructor at Washington County and Frederick Memorial Hospital.He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Virginia Bradford and his son, Kenneth L. Bradford.He is survived his daughter, Kathryn E. Martin-Nelson and her husband, M. She was previously employed as the Manager at Richardson Restaurant for over 20 years. Wendy loved spending time with her grandkids and loved helping anyone in need. She enjoyed cleaning around her home and outside and even family members’ homes. She loved animals.
