Alexander "Alex" "Al" Theadore Fichter passed away on Feb. 19, 2022, at his Kila home. Alex was born on April 30, 1935, to Christ Fichter and Margret Roll in Taylor, North Dakota. He got his education in a one-room school in Taylor- North Dakota. After graduating from the eighth grade, he went to work for ranchers and farmers until he joined the Navy in September of 1954. He was stationed in San Diego until his reassignment to the U. S. Naval Torpedo Station in Keyport. Washington. After leaving the Navy, on Oct. 20, 1958, he married Beatrice Jirges in Dickinson, North Dakota. He worked for a dairy farmer in Taylor. He had three boys, Duane born in 1960, Sidney born in 1961, and Marvin born in 1963. In April of 1964, Alex moved his family to Kalispell. He was a mechanic at Russ and Don's Conoco and then worked at Evergreen Texaco until he became disabled from a work-related injury. Alex enjoyed camping, fishing and playing pool with his family and friends. Alex was the type of person who had to stay busy doing things or helping his children and friends. He loved his boys and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother Richard, and sister Josie. He is also survived by his three boys, Duane of Kila, and Sidney of Kila and his two children Rebecca of Seattle -- Rebecca is expecting her first child -- Brian of Kila and great-grandchildren Tabytha and Ellie jo of Kalispell, and Marvin of Evans, Colorado. He will be missed by his family and friends. In the spring, Mom and Dad will take their final fishing trip to the place they enjoyed fishing and camping. Obituary Francis Yvonne Kemper, 60, a resident of Kila, MT passed away on February 15, 2020 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Francis was born on July 16, 1959 in El Paso, TX. She was one of four children born to Paul Tuttle and Elizabeth (Kaltreider) Bertrand. Francis moved to Hillsboro as a little girl and attended Hillsboro High School, where she played softball. She met her future husband, Marvin Kemper, through mutual friends during the 4th of July Celebration at the Washington County Fairgrounds. One year later, they married on January 29, 1977 in Hillsboro. They made their home in Forest Grove until 1985 when they moved to Cornelius. Then, in 2005 they moved to Montana, where they built a home in Kila. Francis was a loving and devoted mother to her two children; Ray and Jacob. She enjoyed being a motherly figure to the other neighborhood kids. Friends of Ray and Jacob were always welcome and she enjoyed cooking for them. She also worked outside the home, starting in cable assembly working for Moore Electronics and Compass Metal Detectors. When they moved to Montana, she began working for Albertson's as a cashier. She made many friends and influenced all who were privileged to know her. From co-workers to customers, Fran brought laughter with her endless wit and charm. Fran enjoyed arts and crafts, especially ceramics. She loved Native American art and folklore. She also enjoyed traveling and sightseeing in the outdoors. She loved animals, especially baby animals, puppies and horses. She loved the wildlife that surrounded her at their Montana home, from feeding wild turkeys to watching the baby deer play. Fran was a wonderful cook which she enjoyed sharing with her family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was collecting wild turkey feathers. She was preceded in death by her father Paul, her mother and step father; Norman and Elizabeth Bertrand and her brother; Michael Tuttle. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 43 years, Marvin Kemper of North Plains who resides in Kila, MT; Sons, Ray (Andrea) Kemper of Cornelius, OR and Jacob (Jessica) Kemper of Lakeside, MT; Sisters Paula (Jeff) Matthews of Vancouver, WA and Glenda Carter of Oregon; Brother In-laws and Sister In-laws; Dennis (Audrey) Kemper of Forest Grove, Madeline (Randy) Gillenwater of North Plains, Delores Tellez of Hillsboro, Donna Kemper of North Plains, Marie (Harry) Gunderson of Hillsboro, Daryl (Cheryl) Kemper of North Plains, Marty (Maria) Kemper of Forest Grove. Her most beloved Grandchildren; Justin and Kylee Kemper of Oregon, Tailer and Jace Kemper of Montana. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Friday February 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St Edward Catholic Church 10990 313th in North Plains. A reception will take place following the Mass held in the parish hall. Rite of Christian Burial will follow at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery at 1:15.
