Daniel Brazil Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Brazil Jr. at Grand River Hospital - Freeport Campus after a brief battle with cancer in his 69th year (October 19th 1954 to October 4 2023). Predeceased by his parents Sadie and Dan Brazil, Twin Brother Bart, Sister Alice, Brother Jim. He is survived by his siblings; Howard (Wendy), Betty Rose (Leo), Marie Bellissimo (Tony) Raymond, and sisters-in-law Mary Brazil, Carol Brazil, and many nieces and nephews. Dan was an amateur local comedian (half of the Brazil Brothers) who loved to make people laugh. He was an avid Leafs and Blue Jays fan. The family would like to thank Freeport Mental Health Caregivers for their care of Dan over the past year. Cremation has taken place, to be followed by a private family service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Mental Health Association are greatly appreciated.

Derek Beasley

Age - 84

Derek died as he lived , with determination and on his own terms. He leaves his two daughters Karen (Linda) and Niki and his 4 grandchildren (Katherine, Isabelle, Aidan, Anne Marie) and his great-grandson (Dallas). Derek was a proud member of the British army and spent his late teens and early 20's in service. He immigrated to Canada from England in 1970 with his beloved wife Sylvia (deceased) and created a life he was proud of. Derek had a lifelong love of stamp collecting and made many friends over the years because of this love. He enjoyed his time with various stamp clubs around the Cambridge/Guelph area. Derek was able to achieve his goal to live independently until he went into the hospital and he was grateful for the care of his neighbours and landlord for their support to keep him independent and safe. Thanks also to the various services of home care that provided support. Special mention to his friend John who shared his interest in stamp collecting and also shared many trips for coffee or lunch and multiple conversations that Derek spoke often about. He truly cherished your friendship. The world will be a bit quieter, less sure and emptier without Derek's energy. . . do something kind for someone today in his memory. Diane Ferguson

(Margaret) Diane Ferguson passed away peacefully at home with the presence of her family on November 8th 2023 at the age of 68. She will forever be remembered by her generosity always giving all her love to every person who crossed her path. She was predeceased by her son Tony, her three brothers Walter, Edward and Chris and her parents Walter and Martha. Diane is survived by her loving and devoted husband John Ferguson of 29 years. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Sherry (Chris) Granddaughters Alana (Chris), Jasmin (Kerry), her great grandchildren Aubrey, Julia, Adelina. Her sisters Rita, Rosalind (Bill), Janet (Ray), Tina and her Brother Angus (Lillian). She will be missed more than words can describe. Visitation will be held at T. Santa Maria Pellegrino (nee Mastrolia) Peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023 in her 94th year with family at her side. Predeceased by her loving husband Tommaso (2012) and by her siblings Vincenzo, Luigia, Giuseppa, Giorgio and Immacolata who are all now united again. She will be missed by her children Vincenzo (Angela), Adriana (Frank) Clifford, Angelo (Uura), Maria (Clem) Caron. Also missed by her youngest sister Severina (Antonio), sister-in-law Lina, as well as many nephews and nieces in Italy. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Amanda (Jeffrey), Nicholas, Mark, John (Dawn), Michael, Steven, Jaakob, Giordan, Thomas (Jahail), Alexander, and great-grandchildren Nathan, Dominic and Isla. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Santa was a quiet, caring, devout person happy to be in her home surrounded by family. Born in southern Italy she married and followed her heart to Canada where she made a home and lovingly raised her family with her husband Tommaso. She made the perfect tomato sauce, fritelle, crostoli, pitule and many more foods from southern Italy. She liked her vegetable garden and massive San Marzano tomatoes, Cicoria, Rapini and lampascioni that she grew annually. She enjoyed her final years at Chartwell Retirement home experiencing many new activities and making new friends. She loved to play and win at Bingo and rarely missed the morning exercise class. After a long courageous battle against cancer, our beautiful, loving, and sparkling Teresa Marie Stewart (nee Law) is gone. Born in Blantyre, Scotland on the 21st of February 1950, Teresa passed away on the 4th of November 2023 at the Innisfree Hospice surrounded by her family. She will always be in our hearts. Her love, caring and sage words will be forever with us. Teresa is survived by her husband, Douglas, her soulmate, and best friend of 53 years, who never left her side as her brave 9-year battle was waged. In addition to Douglas, her three children; Simon (Laura), Stephanie (Darren) and Steven, will miss their mum more than words can express. Teresa was also survived by her grandchildren Callan, Kyra, and Connor, who their Nanny loved so much. Teresa's life will be remembered by a small family gathering at T. Little Funeral Home. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. E. F. Johnston, and all the doctors, nurses and support staff of Cambridge Memorial Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital (Kitchener), St. Joseph's Hospital (Hamilton) and the Juravinski Hospital (Hamilton) who supported Teresa throughout. It is with great sadness that the family of Maryanne (nee Fergusson) announce her passing on Friday, November 3rd, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. Maryanne will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend Harry; children Scott (Jess) Cook, Karrie (Brett) Minken, step daughter Christine (Tim) Carver; Grandson Ben Cook, step grandchildren Mark Homeniuk, Alexander and Chole Carver; Brother Brian (Cindy) Fergusson; niece Jennifer (David) Gatto, nephew Tim Fergusson, and numerous other family members. Maryanne was predeceased by her parents George and Rosemary (Willoughby) Fergusson; in-laws Harry Sr and Caroline Homeniuk, Patricia Schmidt, Mike Homeniuk and step daughter Karen (Homeniuk) Rowe. Maryanne was born and raised in Cambridge (Galt). Maryanne & Harry were married in 1990 and spent 33 wonderful years together. Maryanne enjoyed assigning referees for Cambridge Referee Association for over 30 years and was an active member of Westside Presbyterian Church. Cremation has taken place. Passed away peacefully on November 3, 2023 at Stirling Heights Long Term Care after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Loving mother of Deborah (Alan) Holman. Billie had been a long time member with the Royal Canadian Legion as well as a volunteer at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. We are coming together to celebrate the short life of our beautiful baby girl Paige Lynn Wallace, named fondly after her Grandma Lynn Derbyshire and nick named Peach by her big sister. Although Paige only had 5 short weeks of life, she was loved immensely by her family. Mom (Katie Schneider) and Dad (Joe Wallace) will forever cherish the brief time that their beloved Paige was given on this earth. Older sister Ava (Wallace) will never forget her little Peach. We take some small comfort in the fact that Baby Paige passed on without undue distress after suffering a stroke. Treasured great-grandfather of 14. Dear brother of Ruth Hooper, Robert Hooker and Judy Buitenhuis. Predeceased by his parents, Herbert Hooker and Ruth Hooker. He will be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.
