It is with heavy hearts the passing of Dan Scott, a beloved father, husband, brother and friend, who left this world on October 3, 2023. Dan was a beacon of strength, kindness, and wisdom, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Born on October 24th, 1948, Dan lived a life filled with love, laughter, and endless compassion. He was a devoted husband to Sherry (Robinson) Scott for 47 years and a guiding light to his children, Sheila Lewis and Dale Scott and two sisters, Margo Oswald and Lynn Willey. Dan's unwavering support, genuine smile, and often stoic personality brought comfort and a consistency to all who knew him. Dan was a dedicated family man and loved to help those in need. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand. He had a passion for woodworking and was always working on a "project". His enthusiasm inspired those around him. Dan could always be found early in the morning sitting in his upstairs chair listening to Alexander Scourby and reading along with his Bible. He loved the book of Proverbs and often quoted them to his children. Dan was a great example of a Christian man. He lived the fruits of the Spirit. He was gentle, loving, peaceable, long suffering and giving. In his professional life, Dan worked as a meat cutter, where he excelled with dedication and integrity. He was someone who made a workplace brighter with his ever-ready smile and willingness to help. He also owned and managed several properties in the 1980's which he was very proud of. Dan's legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. While we mourn the loss of a remarkable man, we also celebrate a life well-lived, rich with meaningful connections and enduring memories. A Celebration of Life to honor Dan will be held on Saturday, October 7th at Grace Baptist Church in Black Hawk, SD. As we bid farewell to Dan Scott, let us remember the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the joy he brought into our lives. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of strength and inspiration to us all. To plant Memorial Trees in memory of Dan Scott, please click here to visit our Sympathy Store.
