On April 12, 1933 Damon N Jones was born in a small town in Arkansas From an early date he learned how to work hard and to care for others as his grandmother taught him to pick cotton from a tiny plot of land she owned He graduated from his high school class as valedictorian and was said to be everyone's big brother Damon visited family in Indianapolis and during that time met the love of his life, Pat Seven months later they were married After serving in the Army, they settled in Indianapolis where he decided to pursue owning his own business Selling general goods from the trunk of his car, he grew that business to one of the largest wholesalers in the Midwest 63 years later, ABC Distributors is still thriving and is owned by two of his children He taught his kids you can never outgive God They watched Damon build a business while sharing with the community and his church He is survived by his children Sherree Fischer (Jim), Debbie Green, Kevin Jones Also five grandsons Adam (Sabrina), Josh (Amanda), Jason (Angie), Damon (Leah) and Dereck (Morgan) Damon has nine great-grandchildren Calvin, Wes, Allie, Jayden, Brodie, Liam, Jack, Isaac and a baby girl coming soon Preceding him was Patricia (wife), Grace (great-granddaughter), Crystal (mother), Loucelle (grandmother) Damon went to his heavenly home on September 29, 2023 His legacy lives on Celebrating the Life of Damon Jones will be Sunday, October 29, 1:00p at CRG Event Center at Perry's Crossing 2499 Perry Crossing Way Suite 205 Plainfield, IN Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield is handling the arrangements Please visit www bakerfuneralservice com to leave the Jones family a condolence To to the family or in memory of Damon N Jones, please

Sean Patrick O'Neil, age 50, passed away on November 25, 2023. He was born on March 18, 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sean lived a life filled with love, laughter, and had a profound impact on those fortunate enough to know him. Sean was a beloved son to Dori Logan, father to Sophie O'Neil, Corrine O'Neil, and Christian O'Neil, and brother to Kelly O'Neil and Shannon Stuhldreher. He was a source of strength, wisdom, and unwavering support for his family. A graduate from Ben Davis High School and Aristotle Medical Assistance School, Sean went on to dedicate his life to helping others. He became a Supervisor at Accustat Lab and a Director at Lab Corp, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers. Outside of his professional life, Sean had a passion for fishing, gaming, woodworking and art. He enjoyed dancing with his children around the house and tossing a baseball around in the backyard. Sean will be remembered for his goofy personality, ferocious love for his children, intelligence, stubbornness, protectiveness, dad jokes, and being unapologetically himself. His warm smile and loud laugh touched the lives of many, leaving an unforgettable mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. The memorial service to celebrate Sean O'Neil's life will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 5:00 P. M. , with the visitation beginning at 4:00 P. M. at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield. Donna Jean Craft (Utterback), age 70 of Plainfield, Indiana passed away on Tuesday November 1st, 2023. She was born to the late Carl and Shirley Utterback on February 23rd, 1953. Her brother, Ronnie Utterback welcomed her and affectionately called her "Sis" till the end. Donna was raised in Mars Hill Indiana and spent a great deal of her younger years at the Speedrome with her familyor spending time with her best friend for life, Betty. Donna had two daughters, Melissa Utterback and Angela Cook with whom shewas not only a mother, but a best friend. There were countless weekends spent having cookouts and playing poker. Some of her best memories were from the family vacations at Indiana Beach, and Pigeon Forge Tennessee or simply having family get-togethers on birthdays and holidays. Donna loved music and enjoyed going to concerts. She was a life long fan of Elvis and adored Kid Rock. Her daughters will always remember her playing albums full blast on Saturday mornings and having "cleaning parties". Donna married her late husband Michael Craft in 2006. Mike blended into the family with ease and loved Donna for her wit, compassion and love for animals. Donna is survived by daughters, Melissa Utterback and Angela Cook and son in law Matt Waterman. Donna is survived by her step-son Steve Anderson. Donna is survived by her Sister-in-law Kay Utterback. Donna is survived by 5 grandchildren: Mallori Utterback, Amber Waterman, Lucas Utterback,Nicolas Waterman, and Rachael Utterback. Our beloved mother Wilma Sue Peterman, 79, of Plainfield, Indiana passed away, peacefully on October 10, 2023. Her daughter, Dana, lay beside her holding her hand at home. Wilma was known to many as Susan, Sue, or Subie. She was born in Clinton, Kentucky on May 20th, 1944, to the late Oscer Haywood Mason and Eula Mae Conner Rinehart (William Rinehart). Subie was a stay-at-home mom for 22 years until she started working outside the home cleaning office buildings. She later worked as a nanny and housekeeper, always caring for others. There were no strangers to Subie when it came to helping someone in need. If there was a need, she was happily there to help them. She was a member of Lynhurst Baptist Church. She took comfort in knowing that she would be spending eternity in heaven, with God. Subie was a loving and caring mother. She found great joy in spending time with her family and friends, especially while boating. Subie also enjoyed working in her beautiful yard, crafting, camping, traveling, cooking, and bird watching. Subie is survived by her 5 children: Sheila Ellis, Pam (Gary) Pedigo, Angie Knuckles, Dana (Andrew) House and Melanie Messer; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; ex-husband, William Peterman. Subie was preceded in death by her parents: Oscer Haywood Mason and Eula Mae Conner Rinehart (William Rinehart); the love of her life for 33 years, Gene Gibbons; 2 grandchildren: Skylor Messer and Jordan House; 1 great-grandchild, Jackson Pedigo. Subie's presence in our lives was a blessing. Her memory will always be cherished. She taught us all so many things and inspired us to be our best selves. Even though she is no longer with us, she lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. Visitation will be held at Hall Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield from 11:00am-1:00pm with the Memorial Service beginning at 1pm. A graveside service will immediately follow, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield. John Samuel Phillips, 97 of Plainfield, died peacefully on October 03, 2023 He was born on March 27, 1926 in Amo, Indiana, to the late Freda Ruth (Reeves) Atkins Phillips and Chester Elwood Phillips John moved to Plainfield when he was 10 years old He was a man of many interests and talents At age 12, he was an usher and popcorn-maker at the Prewitt Theater At 16, he was a life guard at the Plainfield Pool during the summer He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1944 where he ran track, played on the basketball team, and sang in the boy's glee choir He joined the Army Air Corps and spent two and a half years in Panama John married Helen Charlene Wright on June 19, 1949 at the Westside Christian Church in Indianapolis He was hired at Western Electric's installation division where he started as an installer and worked up to become the manager of the tool and parts division in the Bell Telephone Building He retired at age 57 He then picked up a new profession as a school bus driver for Avon Schools He drove for eight years while waiting for Helen to retire John loved traveling He and Helen visited all 50 states and 34 countries He also traveled to Washington, D C , on the Honor Flight with his daughter as his guardian/companion John loved to fix things around the house and took on building a garage and breezeway on the first house he owned On the second house he owned, he built a mini barn and also on the manufactured home he owned on Raccoon Lake, he built a 20-foot screened porch with two decks He was an active volunteer, helping three widow neighbors with their minor repairs and snow removal He was always ready to help friends and family John was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church and helped cook for the Wednesday night suppers and the Friday morning Men's breakfasts He also made coffee every week for Sunday morning services and spent many years on the Golden Glows committee John liked to hunt small game and had a large collection of rifles, shot guns and hand guns Fishing was his number one hobby Ice fishing, deep sea fishing, casting or fly fishing using the flies he made - as long as he was fishing, all was right with the world John was a devoted husband, a loving father, a devout Christian, and a friend to many All who knew him were blessed to have had him in their life Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Helen Phillips and his daughter, Gail Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Robert Atkins; sisters, Virginia Grist, Edith Slavens; and a niece, Patty Grist A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p m on Friday, October 13, 2023 in the Plainfield Christian Church with visitation one hour prior to the service in the church Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is handling the arrangements In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to one's favorite charity To to the family or in memory of John Samuel Phillips, pleaseShow more
