Our thoughts are with Allen and Brianne in the death of their Australian Shepherd Border Collie, Dallas. He was a very playful dog. He loved snow, running and jumping. He was a very comforting boy. He would give his paw to show his love and concern. Dallas was very protective and he would heard the kids and neighbors. Allen was his person. He followed him everywhere. Our thoughts go out to Rebecca, Emma and Kaylee Smith on the death of their beloved Chihuahua Dixie. Dixie was a gift to Rebecca and was considered to be a "push present" after she gave birth. Rebecca was longing for a little dog and since she was a stay at home mom, Dixie seemed like the perfect companion to keep Rebecca company. Dixie was a lazy, affectionate cuddle bug. She loved traveling to West Virginia, playing with her mousie, walks and running with Rebecca. Dixie adored her treats and was very food motivated. This intelligent girl also learned many amusing tricks such as sit, paw, lay and sit pretty which was balancing herself on her hind legs. Dixie was most bonded with Kaylee and Able, the Pitbull Sharpei mix. Dixie was such a treasured and loved part of the family. She will be forever missed. "Melba Joyce Rogers, 82, of Hanover, wife of Martin H. Rogers, III, entered into God's eternal care on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at her home following a brief illness. Born on Monday, March 31, 1941 in Knoxville, TN, she was a daughter of the late Carl Jackson Booker and Christine Nicely Booker. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Carl Jackson Booker, Jr. ; and a sister, Burlene Williford. A graduate of Cranberry High School in Elk Park, NC, Melba was dedicated to her career as a computer programmer with the National Security Agency for 30 years until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Hanover. In addition to her husband of 47 years, she is survived by a son, Martin Henry Rogers, IV; two grandchildren, Abigail Celestina Rogers and Duncan Xavier Rogers and their mother, Jessica Hudson; a sister, Sara B. Crowe; several nieces and nephews; a great-nephew, Micah Dobbins; and a great-niece, Lakyn Philpaw. A private service is being planned. Wayne R. Wisensale, 77, of Hanover, PA, entered God's eternal care, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at his home. Born January 23, 1946, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Richard B. and Dorothy A. (Brown) Wisensale. Wayne was the loving husband of the late Marie "Betsy" E. (Utz) Wisensale with whom he shared 56 years of marriage until her passing on May 13, 2021. Wayne was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA. Wayne was a 1963 graduate of South Western High School. He was a pattern maker at Hoffman Pattern for over thirty years until his retirement. Wayne loved watching his grandchildren play sports and was an avid Orioles fan. Wayne is survived by three children, Dana M. Bealing, Kelly S. Grove, and Mick W. Wisensale and his wife Melissa all of Hanover, PA; three grandchildren, Madi E. Wisensale, Max M. Wisensale, and Colby A. Bealing. Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. Clare Klunk

Dr. Clare D. Klunk, age 81 entered into God's care on December 5, 2023, at home surrounded by family. She was born June 9, 1942, in Jersey City, NJ, to the late William E. and Mary (Tomek) Dvoranchik. She met the love of her life on a blind date, knew Daniel S. Klunk was "The One" after the 2nd date, and shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with him. Our dearest Clare, known to many as Agent Klunk and Dr. Clare, traveled the world as a military wife with Dan. She educated students of all ages and backgrounds throughout her 56 year distinctive career, teaching at the Department of Defense Schools, developing training at the Central Intelligence Agency, and instructing doctoral students as a Professor at Virginia Tech. She will always be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her ever present smile with warmth, compassion and intelligence behind it, and the infinite love she gave all her family and friends. Dr. Clare was the 1960 valedictorian of Kearney High School, Kearny, NJ, a 1964 graduate of Trenton State College with a BS in Education, a 1967 Jeopardy contestant, a 1982 graduate of the University of Kansas with a Master's in Education and a 1999 graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a PhD in Adult Learning and Human Resource Development. Clare was past President of the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education, past President of the Hanover Symphony Orchestra, and a member of the Hanover Historical Society. She will be sorely missed and survived by her husband Dan, her sister Joan Csedrik, her daughter Catherine M. Gorton married to Gregory A. Gorton, and son Mark S. Klunk married to Shelley M. Liguori, 2 grandchildren, Mark A. Gorton and Matthew A. Gorton, and her grand-dog Ripley. She was preceded in death by her brother, William M. Dvoranchik. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Contributions in memory of Clare may be made to the Hanover Symphony Orchestra. Born November 4, 1934, in Hershey, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley E. and Margaret M. (McFarland) Fidler. Avis was the loving wife of Robert H. Beard with whom she shared 70 years of marriage. Mrs. Beard retired from the former Doubleday Company in Hanover where she worked as a mail clerk. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hanover, PA In addition to her husband Robert, Avis is survived by her children, Wendy Eline, Joel Beard, and Eric Beard, three grandchildren, Sean Eline, James Miller, and Chad Eline, seven great grandchildren, Valkyrie, Lucas, Brooklyn, Lexie, Gavin, Taylin, and Aspen. She showed up one day on their back porch in 2011 in Virginia and has been a part of the family since. Cleo was a loving lap cat who did not know what personal space was. Our thoughts go to David Todd on the death of Sadie, his 15 year old domestic short hair. She was a kitten at the rescue where he volunteered and he took her home for a visit and she never left the home. She was named after his grandmother, Sadie, and ended up being the oldest in his brood. She was the "mama" of the home and would occasionally start trouble and did not take any grief from anyone. She would steal David's chicken and run and not share any of it. . . in fact would fight over it. She was a quiet gal though, and a cuddler and playful.
