Dale James Fackler, age 81, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend passed away with his wife Irena, September 4, 2023, outside of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Dale was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on December 28, 1941, but lived all his early life in Boise, Idaho where he attended Collister Elementary School, South Jr. High School, and Boise High School. He joined the US Army in July 1959, and served various assignments in the United States and overseas, eventually achieving the rank of Sergeant before injuries in 1960 and 1961 led to his discharge from active duty in August 1962. After his release from active duty, he came under the care of the Boise Veterans Administration. He was able to recover from his injuries to the point of joining the active Army Reserve with hopes of returning to active duty. Things did not work out as planned and his association with the military ended in July 1965. With the passage of the GI Bill in 1966 Dale attended Boise College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. After Graduation from Boise College, Dale was employed by Morrison-Knudsen Company and served various administrative assignments in MK's Boise home office and on construction projects in Montana, California, Nevada, Alaska, Florida, Panama, Suriname, Kwajalein Atoll, and Taiwan. After 23 years with MK, Dale accepted positions with ICF Kaiser and CH2M Hill which took him on assignments to Saudi Arabia, Africa, Taiwan, Mainland China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and the Czech Republic where he served as Branch Manager of the European subsidiary of Kaiser Group Holdings until the end of his full-time working career in 2001. In 1995, while on assignment in the Czech Republic, Dale met the love of his life, Irena. Six months after meeting they married in Prague on February 16, 1996. Dale described her as his grey haired, blue eyed technical translator and office manager. They became constant partners, seldom being apart from each other for any length of time. Dale loved to talk about Irena's accomplishments in life, but at the same time he would not miss the opportunity to tease her whenever possible. Dale spoke of her as the driving force in his life and cherished every moment they spent together. In 2001 they returned to the US, settling in Eagle, ID where they continued to serve as consultants for KGI in the settlement of various contract claims and arbitration issues. Living a semi-retired life as part-time consultants, Dale and Irena found time to devote to their love for the Boise State Broncos and, with Irena at his side, the two were avid fans and supporters of BSU athletics and other on campus programs. Both Dale and Irena became lifetime members of the Alumni Association and the Chaffee Guild at BSU. Having both traveled and worked on various assignments around the world they settled into their home in Eagle and enjoyed the quiet of their patio, the fun of their swimming pool, their hobbies and occasional trips back to Prague to visit the kids or having the kids come from Prague to visit Eagle. Dale and his beautiful wife, Irena, the love of his life, left this earth together on September 4, 2023. Monday, December 11th, 2023, at Hillcrest Baptist church, 902 N. Washington Stillwater, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements. Randall was born in Davenport Iowa on April 20th, 1954, and was shortly adopted as an infant by his mother and father, Clarence and Ola Verlee Johnson. Randall entered his first marriage to his late wife, Kathy, at an unknown date. Before Kathy's passing in 1980, she blessed Randall with two sons, Colt Johnson, and Randy Johnson. Randall remarried Kelly Decker on 12/2/1989. Kelly blessed Randall with three more children, Alyssa Johnson, Savanah Johnson, and Justin Johnson. Before being afforded the opportunity to meet his stepmother, brother, and two sisters, Colt Johnson sadly passed in 1984 when he was only 5 years of age; However, Kelly took Randy in as her own and began a new life with her husband, Randall, and their ever-growing family. Anyone who saw Randall Johnson could first identify him by his cowboy hat, belt buckle, and pants tucked in to his "loud," knee high cowboy boots which chimed musically as he walked due to the spurs tightly clasped on the back. Randall was a cowboy, after all. In fact, more than a profession, or aesthetic, Randall's "cowboyness" was entirely engrained into the very fabric of his identity. Even his closest friends and family knew him as "Cowboy Randy. " Randall and Kelly owned a trucking company in Ottawa Lake, Michigan from 1995-2004. In 2005, Randall allowed his cowboy itch to get the best of him; therefore, selling his trucks to move his family back to Oklahoma, so he could go back to his cowboy roots. Even while living in Michigan Randall regularly attended the rodeo teaching his kids the cowboy trade. Randall's kids were not the only individuals fortunate enough to receive this training. Randall was a giving soul who constantly took in young men to train them on the techniques of riding, roping, and life skills necessary to be a successful rodeo champion. Not only was Randall a cowboy and an owner/operator, but he was a jack of all trades and everyone who met him had a lasting impression, for he truly was one of a kind. One of the most unique things about Randall was his elaborate and often difficult to believe stories. However unbelievable Randall's stories were, after meeting him, it became difficult to disregard them as untrue. After all, a man of his unique caliber had to have lived an interesting life with many interesting tales to show for it. Still, Randall kept the public curious, as he would often be seen speaking to his two imaginary friends, Petey and Theodore. Randall was also genuine in his faith. Being delivered from several incidents would have claimed the lives of most others, Randall would attribute his well-being to the God who's "got him. " Randall was first to assure everyone of this reality and often could be heard daily speaking of his relationship with Christ. Though Randall will be loved and missed, his family and friends have assurance that they will once again be united with their beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Till we meet again in glory, we love and miss you "Cowboy Randy. " Randall Johnson was preceded in death by his son and parents, Colt Fletcher Johnson, Clarence, and Ola Verlee Johnson. He is survived by his wife Kelly Johnson, two sons and their spouses, Randy Johnson and Megan Johnson, Justin Johnson Sharon Johnson, two daughters and their spouses, Alyssa Mendez and Manuel Mendez, Savanah Brown and Tyson Brown, eleven grandchildren, Trayce Johnson, Trevin Johnson, Levi Johnson, Reagan Johnson, Ashlynn Harris, Brooklynn Mendez, Gabriella Mendez, Legend Mendez, Zera Brown, Carson Luster, Graycelynn Brown, one brother Mark Johnson and his wife Vanessa Johnson and their son, Craig Johnson.Show more
