Carole A. “Nani” Cannella, 86, of Machesney Park, IL, was welcomed into heaven on Monday, February 26, 2024, in her home.  Born June 30, 1937, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Grace (Bennett) Bast.  Graduated from East High School, Class of 1955.  She married Joseph A. Cannella in 1970, in Rockford.  Employed by the Secretary of State for 22 years.  She enjoyed crafting and shopping.  Her grandchildren have given her all the joy she ever had in her life.  Survivors include her son, Thomas (Sara) Cannella; grandchildren, Angela, Adam, Thomas “TJ”, Nicholas, Santino “Sonny”, and Toni Jo Cannella, and Isaiah Jones; great-grandchildren, Taylor Hart, Emily Cannella, Sophia Tijerina, and Ella Vice; great-great-grandchildren, Maelyn, Maddyn, and Vittori; sister, Dianne (Hugh) Bourkland.  Predeceased by her precious angels, her parents; and the love of her life, her husband in 1986. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.  Cremation rites accorded.  Inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

Mary Frances Lucas, age 100, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 at home.Mary Frances was born on December 5, 1923 in Appanoose County, the daughter of Theodore and Ruth Irene (Foster) Broshar. She married Eugene G. Main. They would have three children, Patricia, Carol and Larry. Eugene was killed in World War II in Okinawa June 1945. She would later marry Richard Lucas. To this union, two children were born, Rick and Sharon.Mary Frances had many jobs over the years, but spoke often about being a C.N.A. at Golden Age Care Center and her 17 years as a greeter at Wal-Mart. She was well known for her costumes and hats as people entered Wal-Mart. Mary Frances was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville. After retiring, she moved to Illinois.Left to cherish Mary Frances’ memory are her children, Carol Ann Benac of Fruitland, IA, Larry Eugene Main (Norlene), of Buffalo Center, IA, Richard Lee Lucas of Rockford, IL, Sharon Lynn Thiltgen of Belvidere, IL, Rose Marie Moore of Belvidere, IL, and Rexanne Zanoni of Machesney Park, IL; eighteen grandchildren, Tony Benac, Terry Benac, Todd Benac, Ronnie Main, Randy Main, Renea Mitchell, Julie Loredo, Tim Lucas, Cassandra Lucas, Layton Lucas, Fred Shondel, Sherry Bogardus, Anita Gonzalez, Dawn Shondel, Robert Shondel, Ciera Miranda, Steve Zanoni and Chris Zanoni; fifty five great grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandson; her sister, Pauline Donovan; as well as many extended family members and friends.Mary Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Theordore and Ruth Broshar; her husband, Eugene Main; her daughter, Patricia; her granddaughter, Heather Zanoni; her son-in-law, John Benac; great granddaughter, Danielle Benac; her siblings, John (Yvonne) Broshar, Floyd (Carol) Broshar, and Virgil (Joan) Broshar; a special friend, Leonard; as well as several extended family members and friends.Funeral services for Mary Frances will be held at 12:00PM, Friday, March 1, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Centerville with Pastor Tony Alexander officiating. Burial will follow the service at Main Station Cemetery, near Moravia. Steven “Steve” T. Anderson, 64, Machesney Park, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. He was born on September 11, 1959, in Vernon, WI, the son of Fred Anderson and Eloda (Stalsberg) Pringey. He married his wife, Renee (Allen) Anderson on September 1, 1984, in Loves Park. Steve graduated from Guilford High School in 1977 and worked at Pointe for several years and Ready Mix for 38 years. He was a great musician, playing with Bare Bones for many years. Steve will be remembered as a loving family man.Steve is survived by his wife, Renee; his daughters, Kayla (Steve) Winchel, and Katie (Neil Amill) Anderson; his son, Jordan Anderson; his granddaughters, Ellie, Piper, Margot, Taylor, Reese, Willow, and Presley; his nieces and nephews, Carlie, Tanner, Trystan, and Tylor. Curtis D. Hoeppner, 89, of Machesney Park, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024.  Born December 6, 1934, in Traer, IA, the son of Harold W. and Ruth B. (Altenhein) Hoeppner.  Veteran of the U.S. Army.  Curtis married Gayle Greenman on May 20, 1960.  Together they celebrated 64 years.  He worked for the Harlem School District for 27 ½ years before retiring.  Curtis enjoyed football and basketball and playing basketball in college.  He was a member of the 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner for years.  Curtis was a very fair and calm man.  He reasoned the way he did things and was always there for his family when they needed him.Curtis was also a kind, and generous individual. With his thoughtful blue eyes, he would share with you his lifelong lessons, stories and wisdom. A calm yet powerful demeanor about him, you would feel his sense of duty, un-relenting tenacity to go above and beyond for his family and a big heart to love more and more. His grandchildren adored him and he lit up anytime he saw them. As he soars high above with the angels, we know while we have lost a magnificent man, he is forever ingrained in our memories. He has given each and every one of us, a piece of his essence to hold on to and his entire family will always think of him with intense love and adoration.Survived by his wife, Gayle; sons, Craig (Iseoma) Hoeppner and Eric (Suzanne) Hoeppner; grandchildren, Curtis P. He graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1977. He married the love of his life Traci Mitchell on May 23, 1994. Kurt was an outdoorsman, he liked to garden, fish, and camp. He was proficient in hunting, specifically bowhunting and even created his own ammunition. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, old Westerns, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Atlanta Braves. Kurt was a proud member of the NRA. Kurt is survived by his wife, Traci Heckman; children, Amanda (Michael) Heckman, Brittany (Josh) Hicke, Austin (Elizabeth) Hodyniak, and Emily Heckman; grandchildren, Makenna, Mason, Brayden, Lily, and Lucy; siblings, Mark (Jeri) Heckman, Bruce (Janet) Heckman, Scott (Nancy) Heckman, Terri (Scott) Carle, and Brian (Denise) Hutter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne "Pep" M. McDaniel, age 79, of Machesney Park, Illinois joined his Valentine, Vicki, in Heaven on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Pep was born in Rockford, Illinois on May 11, 1944 to George and Verna McDaniel. He graduated from Rockford West High School in 1962. Shortly after graduating he met the love of his life, Vicki Rinaldi. On August 15, 1964 he married Vicki; they spent 37 beautiful years together until Vicki's passing in 2002. Pep was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 219. He worked at Larson Sheet Metal for over 40 years until retiring at the age of 59. Pep was a die hard Cubs and Bears fan. He was an avid golfer with the rare achievement of not only one hole in one but two! His favorite moments were spending time with his girls and their families until he got the vacuum cleaner out. Gardening, horseshoes and beer were a couple of other hobbies he enjoyed. Pep is survived by his daughters, Cammi (Jim) Fosse, Michelle (Greg) Hamil, Keli (Steve) Cloyd, and Heather (Tod) Vrolyk; grandchildren, Nick (Bethany), Angella (Cory), Logan (Teresa), Ashley, Anna (Steve), Jonathan, Noah, Cameron H., Kierra, Matthew (Allix), Cameron C., Hailey, and Trevor; great grandchildren, Kiley, Kayden, Mayleigh, Gabby, Hudson, Kaiden, Tanner, Cole, Jax, Jordy, Victor, Levi, Stevie, Zach, Kennadie, Katie, and Gracie; mother-in-law, Frances Rinaldi; sister-in-law, Ginger (Jerry) Bartscher; brother-in-laws, Dennis (Patrice) Rinaldi and Alex Toth; girlfriend of 10 years, Joan Buttacavoli; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty J. Leslie, age 94, of Machesney Park, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Betty was born in Springfield, Illinois on April 2, 1929 to Harold and Loraine Frantz. In 1992 Betty retired from Warner Lambert after 24 years. In her free time Betty enjoyed quilting and ceramics. She truly loved her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty's absence leaves an immeasurable void, she will be forever missed by all who were fortunate to share in her life. Betty is survived by her children, Dennis (Elaine) Leslie, Michael ( Paulette) Leslie, Linda (Michael) Shanley, Scott (Danelle) Leslie, and Kelli (Charlie) Rawhoof; grandchildren, Erin, Timothy, Tracey, Kurt, Shannon, Patrick, Alison, Jennifer, Philip, Luke, and Ian; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald R. Leslie; 8 siblings. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 11am until the Time of Sharing at 1pm at Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115). A Private Family Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens the following day. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to OSF Hospice. Becky was born on October 16, 1963, to Robert Garst and Joyce Gray in Dixon, Illinois. She graduated from Winnebago High School before moving to Florida and meeting the love of her life, Emory Grantham. They were married on February 9, 1985, and recently celebrated 39 years of marriage. In 1990, she and her family moved back to Illinois. Becky loved to spend time with her family, especially with her grandbabies and her furry friend Sadie. She also enjoyed her time with the camping girls. When the weather permitted, you could find her sitting on her deck by the pool, often times with her mother Joyce. She is survived by her husband, Emory Grantham; son, David Grantham; daughter, Cassi (Kyle) Grantham; mother, Joyce Gray; grandchildren, Maverick and McKenzie; siblings, Rocky (Lisa) Garst and Amanda Messenger; furry friends, Sadie and Oso. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Garst and brother, Robert “Louie” Garst.

Linda was born to Francis and Alice Stock in Chicago on June 27, 1945. Growing up in Chicago, Linda found herself learning the ways of a devout Catholic attending Josephinum Academy of the Sacred Heart, Chicago IL. She was active in all parishes in which she was a member (Prince of Peace, Lake Villa IL, St. Bede, Ingleside, IL, St. Bridget’s, Loves Park IL) & would find her place in the church community every Sunday. Linda was a passionate beautician for over thirty years. She was a creative seamstress, baker and a generous self-less volunteer to others. Linda worked at State Bank of (Antioch) the Lakes, after attending Mario Tricoci Beauty School, worked at Mueller Hair Salon, Raymond’s Hair Design, and a sales representative of Party-Lite, Nu Skin, and Satin Smooth. Linda was an amazing source of selfless giving and generosity throughout her whole life. A devoted wife to Robert for over 60 years, a loving mother of four children and eleven grandchildren. Linda was well loved and respected by her three sisters, two brothers, her nieces and nephews and extended family. Linda enjoyed numerous and deep friendships throughout her life with her generous inclusiveness and caring for others. She was known as a ‘second mom’ to many of her nephews and nieces and ‘second grandma’ to their children. She was rarely found idle due to her industrious spirit and blessed with talents for cooking, sewing, crafts, hair design, and always found ways to share her talents and gifts with everyone around her. Volunteering her time and giving to others was her passion. She was a part of the Catholic Women’s’ League and Sewing guild. She is survived by the love of her life, Robert Stoinski; children, Karen L. (Stoinski) Lynch of Denver, Colorado, Steven R. (Linda Wachholz) Stoinski of Lander, Wyoming, Kenneth A. (Mary Kay Charles) Stoinski of Wittenburg, Wisconsin, and Michael W. (Heidi Carlson) Stoinski of Lindehurst, Illinois; grandchildren, Matthew, Kendall, Luke, Jacob, Benjamin, Rachel, Kelsey, Andrew, Joshua, Allison, and Adalaide; siblings, Carole Ann (Stock) Becker of Antioch, Illinois, Michael (Rita Devine) Stock of Des Plaines, Illinois, and Gregg Stock of Kenosha, Wisconsin.
