William Stadnyk

Age - 87

December 4, 2023

Stadnyk, William R. , baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at the age of 87. Loving husband for 60 years of Lynn Stadnyk (nee Powers); beloved father of Robyn (Stephen) Passig, Kathleen (Bren) NuDelman and Linda (David) Otis; grandfather of Nicholas NuDelman, Dustin Passig, Zack Passig, Matthew Passig, Tyler Passig, Gavin Otis and Lilah Otis; great-grandfather of Harper Passig and Kylar NuDelman; brother-in-law of Joyce Spurgin and Patricia Johnson; uncle and friend to many. What a gentle soul! From the moment we met in the "Coffee Line" at Emerson Electric in 1961, I knew we would find our way together. We married in 1963 and were blessed with three lovely daughters to add to our party of two. Bill especially enjoyed his home time, where he could relax with his family and friends. Without a doubt, he was the Barbecue King of our household; rain or shine, he grilled. Bill belonged to a very special group of friends from early school days who called themselves Club 16 (although there were 19 of them). They all rented a Clubhouse in Cedar Hill for many years after college. Eventually the outings turned into summer picnics which included wives and kids and then Club 16 became a 'night out with the boys". A first it was dinner - then lunch - then breakfast as eyesights diminished. It was a very special group of wonderful men who loved and supported each other. He was very active at our church, St. Clare of Assisi, especially enjoying his lector duties at 6:30 a. m. Mass on Sundays. He was gifted with a beautiful resonant voice and used it to glorify God. Bill always enjoyed time at the Lake of the Ozarks and loved any opportunity to water ski and boat; his Formula boat was his pride and joy. We both enjoyed travel, cruising to many ports on the globe. He always had a kind word for anyone he talked with and effortlessly found the positive in most people. Bill grew up in South St. Louis, the son of immigrant parents. He attended St. Stephen Elementary, St. Mary's High School and St. Louis University for undergrad and graduate studies. He held a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. He started his career at Emerson Electric and retired from McDonnell Aircraft/Boeing after 35 years. He had many opportunities to work on space simulators, Navy carrier ships and much travel through his career. Services: Funeral Mass at Saint Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 15642 Clayton Rd, Ellisville, Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 1:00 p. m. with visitation at the church starting at 12:00 p. m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
