Cindy Kalata, 66, of Chicago Ridge, died peacefully on September 9, 2023. Cindy was the loving companion of Duane Graff and best friend to Barry Virshbo. Loving mother of Jennifer DeMarco, Joseph DeMarco, Christopher (Carrie) DeMarco, Casey (Cassie) Kalata, Amy (Jesse) Caudillo, and Michael Kalata. Loving sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother to many. Cindy loved animals, music, her friends, but most of all, her family. Army in 1951, where he served in the Korean War. Bill and Pat were longtime parishioners of St. Linus Parish, Oak Lawn. Bill was a member of Johnson-Phelps V. F. W. Post, AmVets, American Legion, and a charter member of the Oak Lawn Elks Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Lillian Gabriel, and his beloved in-laws, Paul and Anna Kapala. Jeff built a beautiful life and home surrounded by love and laughter in Chicago, Illinois. His passion for cars, notably his cherished '70 Monte Carlo, reflected his love for craftsmanship and design. Jeff was the ultimate go-to guy, a hard worker, and jack-of-all trades. Whether he was tinkering with cars in the garage or taking on diverse home improvement projects, he always had the right tool for the job, showcasing his dedication, know-how, and that trademark knack for getting things just right. Home was his favorite place to be, especially during summer, where his favorite pastime was floating in the pool, embracing the warmth of the season. A devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, Jeff's enthusiasm for sports added joy to countless moments, and as an avid golfer, Jeff also found happiness on the greens, sharing rounds with friends and family. Jeff loved dogs, especially his Australian Shepherd, Tessa. Jeff's spirit, kindness, and love will be dearly missed, but the memories created will forever live in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Patricia Mary (McIntyre) Thomas, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend, passed away on November 20, 2023 at the age of 95 years, 324 days. She was born in Chicago, where she met her lifelong love, Larry and they were married in 1948. They enjoyed 47 years of love, travels, and laughs together. Pat had a great attitude about life and treasured her family and friends. She was a parishioner of St. Christina parish for 28 years. She was a loving mother of three: Sue (Mike) Sadowski, Michael (Mary) Thomas and Nancy (Bob) Bresnahan. She adored her grandchildren: Kate (Bronson) Firszt, Lauryn Sadowski, Taylor Ficke and Marisa Bresnahan. They loved spending time with her, esp. playing heated games of UNO and enjoyed ice cream for breakfast. She loved her many nieces, nephews (esp. Ken & Lori, Jim & Jen, Rick, Debbie, Janice & Jeff), grand-nieces and grand-nephews (esp. Jason & Cathy, Izzie, AJ, Scott & Katie, Zelda, Milo, Sara, Jennifer (Mike), Nick). She loved spending time with the entire clan whether it was on vacation or at our homes on the holidays, making a multitude of memories. A day didn't go by that this blonde didn't accessorize her stylish clothes with jewelry and makeup. She loved to socialize and was always ready to go out and raise a glass to life. Pat was a truly talented artist that attended the American Academy of Art and was a member of a number of art groups in the area. She was proficient in all mediums, oils, pastels, ink, acrylic and especially watercolors. During her later years, Pat received exceptional assistance from her compassionate caregivers at her assisted living retirement community. (Eve, Krystyna, Ewelina, Fortune, Linda, Nadine, Crystal, Sonia, Huyen, Lula Mae, Ernestine, Maria, Lisa, Dariela, and the Life Enrichment Department all treated her like family!) She always looked forward to the social gatherings, esp. happy hour with her fellow residents. Pat is preceded in death by many loved ones, but most recently by her sister & brother-in-law, Jeanette & Ken, nephew Kurt, nieces Karen and Sandy, and sister-in-law, Rita and many lifelong friends, esp. Jack and her constant furry companion, Finnegan. She touched the lives of so many with her vibrant spirit and genuine love of life.
