Cynthia Frumhoff Obituary

Cynthia Ann (Bloch) Frumhoff was born on June 4, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York to Harry and Sarah Bloch. The youngest of three children, she graduated from James Madison High School, received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from the Cornell University School of Nursing in 1947 and moved to Los Angeles soon thereafter. There, she lived, worked, built community, married and raised her loving family until her passing on May 7th, 2023 in Huntington Beach at age 97. She lived a rich and full life, one bolstered by her love for the outdoors, her deep and life-long commitments to family and friends, and her abiding senses of adventure, humor, and purpose. She is survived by family that includes daughter Janet Risa Frumhoff and son Peter Charles Frumhoff, granddaughters Kristina Rosa, Clara Frumhoff, Sarah and Natalie Lawton, and Lauren Katcher, great-grandson Dexter Rosa and their families. She was pre-deceased by her first husband Edward Frumhoff and by her second husband Emil Lawton. A grave-side service will be held on March 12, 2023 at 11 AM at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, 5950 Forest Lawn Dr. , Los Angeles. Donations in her memory may be made to EarthJustice at EarthJustice. org.
