Cynda Bernardo Obituary

"Cynda Ellen Bernardo (Murphy) age 65, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. After a long battle with Pick's Disease Dementia, she is no longer suffering and is whole again, dancing away in heaven. Cynda was born June 17, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio to Lois (Jean) and John Murphy. She is preceded in death by her mother, Jean, and brother, Greg Murphy. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bob Bernardo; daughters Chelsea Bernardo and Gabby (Jordan) Hunt, and granddaughter Mila Jean Hunt. Cynda was an incredibly talented ballerina, attending the National Ballet School of Canada for years. Her love for dancing and music remained a constant throughout her life. Cynda's most cherished memories involved time with her family. She was proud of the family roots she and Bob built together and found great joy in keeping family traditions alive. They shared a love of traveling and tasting wine with great company around the world. Cynda had an impeccable work ethic, displayed in her role as the General Assistant Manager to Company Operations at Kenneth's Hair Salon for over 20 years, and later became a Mortgage Loan Officer. Her greatest honor and title was "Momma" to her two girls, whom she was extremely proud of and loved unconditionally until the end. There is one thing that dementia cannot take away, and that is love. Love is not a memory - it is a feeling that resides in your heart and soul. "To love a person is to learn the song in their heart, and sing it to them when they have forgotten" --Anne Garborg. Cynda never stopped loving and dancing to the songs in her heart and soul. Her love and warmth will live on forever. The entire family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Riverside Methodist Hospital for their support and care. In lieu of a traditional funeral, we will be having a Celebration of Life to honor Cynda. She was always the life of the party and we want to celebrate all the wonderful times she had--details to follow. "
