She has been a lifelong resident and a member of Golan Assembly of God. Mable enjoyed cooking, fellowship at her church and yard saleing. Mable is preceded in death by her parents, Huey R. Moore and Leona White Moore, her brothers, Max, Billy Joe, Cecil and Earl Moore, and her sister, Shirley Moore Griffin. Mable is survived by her husband of 69 years, Edward Charrette, her four children, Ken Charrette (Charlotte), Randy Charrette, Linda Bradley (David), Lisa Gay (Ben), her brother, Ronnie Moore (Eunice), her two sisters, Josephine Houchins and Betty Hooks, her four grandchildren, her two great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 beginning at 11:oo am from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Pastor Todd Sowell officiating. Harvey Gatewood was born November 10th 1946. He retired from Armstrong Corp in Pensacola fl and later settled into the farming life. Some of his best days were sitting on his porch watching his cattle, visiting with family and friends and watching the fish bite in his pond. You hardly ever saw Harvey without a dip in his mouth and he always greeted you with a smile on his face. One of his biggest hobbies was selling his hay mainly for the satisfaction of meeting new friends and catching up with the older ones. Harvey, was truly one of a kind to anyone that knew him and most certainly one to be remembered. Harvey died February 17th 2024 leaving behind one son, Jason Madden and wife Michele, One grandson, Robert Lawson and wife Miranda along with their 3 children. Also Leaving behind 3 sisters Melba Motley, Hilda Thames and husband Donnie, Vicky Stewart and husband David, brother Wesley Gatewood and wife Faye, Tony Gatewood and wife Belinda, Larry Cunningham and wife Sharon, Special nephew Jacob Gatewood and Special niece Calista Gatewood. Harvey also had several more Nieces and nephews that he loved very much enriching his life and always finding them a joy to be around. He is preceded in death by his Mama and Daddy Vonda and Woodrow Gatewood and his brother Paul Gatewood. His laughter, his quirky wisdom and all his silly jokes will be missed by so many. He may be gone but he will never be forgotten. Services for Harvey will be held at Blackman Community Center March 2nd at 1 P.M. In Lieu of flowers please donate to the Wing Cemetery in Wing Al. Jean Marie Hughes, 74, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024, in Crestview, Florida. She was born on November 22, 1949, to Helen and Raymond Shivelhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jean was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth, and beautiful smile. She is survived by daughters Lori (Rod) Matlock, Kelly Concilio, son Michael Hughes, grandchildren Benjamin, Jacob, and Matthew Stoffer, Aidan Matlock, Kasey and AJ Concilio, three great-grandsons, sisters Ann (Bob) Sloan, Laura (Raphael) Espinosa, Nancy (Janie) Connell, and brother Raymond Shivelhood, who will forever cherish her precious memory. Preceded in death are her parents, Helen and Raymond Shivelhood, and her sister Barbara Shivelhood. Jean loved baking, writing, painting, and drawing when she was younger. She was very creative. Her immense love of nature and animals was passed down to her children. Although she lived with Multiple Sclerosis for many years she never lost her positive attitude and extraordinary will to persevere. She never lost Faith and always had a deep, spiritual relationship with God. A graveside service will be held in her honor on March 1, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Heritage Gardens in Niceville, Florida. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating her life and sharing their memories. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any local animal shelter or children’s charity in memory of Jean Marie Hughes. Hazel grew up in Crestview and met the love of her life Johnny. They married and started their family. Hazel was a loving mother and wife. She supported her husband and his construction business. She also was an Okaloosa County School bus driver for many years. She had a love for the outdoors including fishing and hunting. She would rather be hunting, and her wall display demonstrates her success. Hazel was proud of all her children and grandchildren and instilled in them the love of outdoors as well. Hazel never met a stranger and always welcomed family and friends into her home. Hazel is preceded in death by: Father, Ois Browder, Mother, Lillian Browder, Father in-law Mr. Bill Polk, Mother in-law, Othene Polk, sister, Lillian Rogers, brothers, Cody and Paul Browder, granddaughter, Robin Nicole Middlebrooks. Marion Andrew (Andy) Thames, Jr., age 77, passed away on February 16, 2024 at his home. Andy was born on October 12, 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Marion and Edna Ruth Thames. Andy and his wife, Jo Thames, have lived in Crestview, Florida the last four and half years after being in Atlanta, Georgia for more than forty years. He served in the United States Navy Reserve for two years and the United States Air Force for four years. In 1977, Andy joined BellSouth in Atlanta as a systems administrator and retired in 2000. He then went on to become a professor with DeVry University. This is where he earned his nickname “Professor.” After DeVry, he joined the IT department with the DeKalb County School District as a Computer Technician. Andy always enjoyed anything with computers…and shopping on Amazon! Andy is preceded in death by his parents, Marion Thames and Edna Ruth Young; one son, Michael Andrew; his brother, Harold Hardy; and his sister, Faye Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jo Thames; his daughter, Christie Eiermann and her husband, Tony; his son, Craig Thames and his wife, Dr. Dao Nyguen; his four grandchildren, Kelli, Kyle, Evan and Courtney; and one great-granddaughter, Kehlani. A celebration of life will be held on February 24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. CST in the chapel of Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, Florida with Brother Wilbur Williams officiating. Bruce Wayne Shope passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 10, 2024 after an unexpected illness. Bruce was born on January 24, 1958, to the late Richard and Catherine Shope. A native of Lake City, Florida, Bruce has resided in Crestview, Florida for over 30 years. He served in the United States Air Force as an Avionics Electrician and has since worked as a subcontractor on Eglin Air Force Base for more than 30 years. In his free time, Bruce enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, and a love of classic muscle cars. More than anything, Bruce enjoyed spending time with his family, who he loved and spoiled. He doted on his grandchildren and created memories to last a lifetime, from fishing together to giving horsey rides or just snuggles with Papa. Bruce was the type of person everyone turned to for good advice. He always brought out a smile with his witty jokes and wry sense of humor, a trait which he passed on to his daughters. Bruce is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Linda Shope. His legacy will continue through his daughters: Crystal Janasiewicz (Adam) of Lake City, FL; Melissa Shirley (John) of Pace, FL; Brandy Shope of Tucson, AZ; step-daughter: Sherri McClellan of St. Simons Island, GA; his adoring grandchildren: Ally, Haley, Amaya, Kaito, Cora, and Robert; great-grandchildren: Lincoln, Christopher, and Colton; and numerous other extended family members.
